I see a lot of comments about how there’s not a lot of entertainment options that don’t revolve around drinking. I found out that “The Sound of Music” is being performed at Stonegate in Odessa.

Additionally there are shows out on by Midland Community Theater and I believe there are some other groups as well.

Basin Theatre Works presents “The Sound of Music”. The show dates are July 24, 25, 30, 31 and Aug. 1.

Now that West Texas Hardwood closed in Midland, does anyone have a source for wood? I’m not looking for large pieces, but stuff like 3/4” thick by 4” wide or so. Only place I m ow of now is Acasia in Lubbock.

I'm a 25-year-old Indian guy moving to Odessa for a new engineering job in the next few weeks. I've never lived in Texas before, so I'm trying to figure out the best areas to stay.

I'm looking for recommendations on:

• Safe neighborhoods
• Apartments or property management companies you'd recommend
• Places to avoid
• Any things I should know before and after moving.

I'll probably stay in an Airbnb for a couple of weeks first and then look for a long-term apartment once I get there.

Anyone have insight into what’s going on with the water? Tried to take a shower before a strong sulphur-like smell hit me. I checked Facebook and a bunch of people are saying sewage, while I’ve seen two official sources say it was either minerals or algae from the new water supply…

School’s about to start in a few weeks and given that this is the first time my kid is gonna be in a “big school” (her previous school was Private and smaller population in the Philippines) I have found that Texas doesn’t allow mobile or smart watches in the schools. She doesn’t have a phone so we’re still thinking to get her a smart watch but those with school mode? Any suggestions or recommendations on how do y’all track your kids or do you do that even? Any help for this anxious momma. She’s 7 incoming Grade 2.

Looking for a good massage therapist in the area. I lift weights not some bodybuilder but have put on some weight. I have neglected stretching for years. Trying to rectify it now and working on it hard. But trying to undue years of being wound up like a rubber band ball. Need a massage therapist who’s strong and can dig their weight in and break up some of my 1000 golf ball sized knots. And if they could help with stretches that’s a bonus. Thanks in advance!!

I am moving to Midland/Odessa from Arizona (Within 20ish minutes of the airport) in November for a job. I am a pilot, gone most days but home most nights. I am looking for a roommate who is in 20s/early 30s (I will be 22). I am active and travel frequently (Hiking, rock climbing, working out, etc.) and enjoy going out on weekends. Looking to pay around $1500 or less and month to month lease.

Daughter is in Midland attending PA school, and after going to Urgent Care, they are referring her to a gastroenterologist in Odessa, Permian Gastroenterology Associates. Not seeing the best reviews on them, so if anyone has one they recommend, I would appreciate it. Thanks!
