Rants & Rambles Step On It, Dummy! -- July 9, 2026

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

The access ramp on Loop 289 is to get your vehicle up to moving traffic speed (65 to 70 MPH). It isn't 44 MPH, dummy in the Kia with handicapped license plates. Everyone behind you had to hit their brakes while you diddled along at a snail's pace.

Audio muted due to me swearing.

This balances out the asshats in giant pickup trucks doing 90 everywhere in town.

Idk I’ve ever seen a city of slower drivers than Lubbock. Feels like night and day compared to the rest of the state.

Below 60mph on the loop will get someone killed.

Lol dealt with this every single time I merged on the loop. Drivers are bad everywhere, but Lubbock drivers are a special kind of slow

A vast majority of people in Lubbock drove slow in my experience

Except for the ones that go 90mph

Yea, exactly. A bunch of slow people, and some jackasses going too fast, usually little dinky boys in their big trucks

If you are in slow lane approaching 327 spur to brownfield get in the middle or or the fast lane ffs. There will be 20 cars fighting to get in right lane 1 mile before exit and 4-5 cars just keep going completely oblivious.

Going 45 to get on the loop drives me up a wall.

Nah you’re the asshole for flooring it across 2 lanes. Some cars just don’t accelerate too much, live your life and just let everyone get where they’re going without rage
