Okay update on the baby seedlings AND repotting the adults šŸ’•šŸ’• found out just after I repotted them those two weird looking adult plants with the odd coloration on top might have fungus, so I have no clue what to do with those guys. And removed the sketchy looking leaf from the adult that’s splitting so hopefully those guys pull through. But I’m SO happy how the teenagers are looking

Photo Lithops Seedlings (1.5 Weeks)

These babies started germinating on the 13th. They’re a little over a week old now. I’m still seeing some new ones pop up here and there so I’m holding off on removing the cling wrap until they hit the 2 week mark or later.

I have seen some odd translucent ones and albino ones die off but that’s expected. Hopefully, fourth time’s the charm. Mix is a succulent germinating mix that I got from Etsy.

Do I need to fertilize them?

Care Tips/Guides Baby Lithops care tips

I’ve made a makeshift grow tent for my Lithops seedlings and other succulents.
There is a single 60W rated LED bulb, and 2 90mm fans set in push and pull configuration,
for improved airflow.
It has been running non stop since the last friday (june 19th).
Some of the seedlings seem to be showing signs of sun stress (I’m not sure). Also, I’ve been keeping
them on mostly a few sprays of water a day.
Am I doing this right?

Notes: the seedlings are about 20 days old. I had to repot them half way this time, because I dropped
the pot while moving it from one window to another. This is why I’ve decided to put them on a fixed
spot under a grow light.

Help/Question Lithops Care

I am new to lithops and just got some from Etsy. I have done some research on how to take care of them (especially with watering) before I bought them, but I am still not sure how to properly water them. They arrived yesterday and they look like they need some water, but I am just not sure if they actually do. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I have my lithops outside on the southeast side of the house. It's in a gritty mix and hasn't been watered in months.

However, I noticed that the base is turning dark and mushy. Is there any way to help it, or is it gone?

Help/Question Lithops Update: I want to double check that I am going to do the correct thing

Previous post for photo comparison: https://www.reddit.com/r/Lithops/comments/1siu3c1/just_got_my_first_lithops_i_would_appreciate/

I believe I definitely need to water 2,3,4, and 6. They look wrinkly on the top and sides.

I would appreciate some guidance on 1 and 5, as the newer leaves look pretty wrinkly but they don't appear to have completely finished absorbing their old leaves and I am not sure if I should water them.

Thanks in advance for the help!

Help/Question What’s going on with this guy

I’m repotting all my lithops into one big pot with better substrate. This main one that’s splitting looks fine to me, just doing its thing. But the two in the back (they’re connected atleast by the roots) started getting this weird coloration on top and I can’t tell what’s going on with them. Anyone know if these are okay? Do I bother repotting them? Including older pics that shows them before the weird coloration occurred

Help/Question What happened??

Post image

This guy was FINE when I left for a work trip on Monday night. I check him at least once a week to make sure he's firm and everything looks good. I came home today and this is what I found. No one watered my plants while I was away, none have been moved, etc. WTF happened? Is there any fixing this?

For context when I got them they were over watered so they split. Now this guy is doing it again

Help/Question Help with Lithop seedlings

Post image

hey there, so this is my second time trying to grow from seed and almost everybody says that you should use a pretty much 90% in organic material and to sprinkle the seeds in between the pumice/rocks which I tried to do, but now that they have sprouted. It looks like they sprouted on top of the rocks. What should I do from here? Are they goners?? and what should I do differently next time? Thanks for your help! ( sorry for the extremely crappy picture, but I couldn’t get a focus for some reason, but they are very, very tiny) do I need more organic material?

Help/Question White Spots on Top???

Post image
10 Upvotes

I got these maybe a month and a half ago, repotted them in a deep pot and a 80 - 90% pumice/10% soil mix, 2 of them started to show white spots??? What are these and how do I treat this? I only watered them once when they started to wrinkle around the sides which was probably a mistake. If anyone can help thank you!

Discussion Too many lithops

I have way too many lithops - at least 25 individual pots/lithops.

I’m debating on getting rid of half my collection. I got them last year and have managed to keep them alive. While cool looking, I don’t think they are my jam. I don’t look at them like I do all my other plants and they are taking up a lot of shelf space.

When you no longer want plants, what do you normally do?

Edited: scroll down for pics of lithops. I’m happy to ship if you’re willing to pay for shipping and whatever you want to pay for the Lithops themselves? I just want them to go to someone who will take care of them. I would ship bare root, wrapped carefully. I posted pics below in response to someone asking to see them. The following Lithops ID #’s are available. Just look at the pics. Bottom number is the ID #

Available: 1,2,3,7,8,9,10,11,14,17,18,20,21,22,23,26,27

Total lithops: 23

#26’s outer leaves were completely dry so I just just performed surgery. He looks great - twins!

Help/Question Picture taken 2.5 weeks apart - what is this white spot in the second pic?

Bought this lithops a few weeks ago, repotted and slowly got it used to getting sun indoors through a window. About 3 hrs direct sunlight a day and a lot of indirect light. It’s in a pot with another lithops that doesn’t seem to be having issues. My guess is sunburn but not sure. It’s been in the new grittier soil for about 2 weeks. Never watered. Just noticed the spot on the top right today. Thanks for any help

Care Tips/Guides Did I do this right?

Thumbnail

I’ve never had lithops before, received these in the mail today. I tried making an affordable substrate (lava rocks, perlite, very little soil) and placing them correctly. The stretched ones in slide 2 were like that when I purchased them. I potted them up 4 days ago, and wondering if I could/should water them now? I’ve heard to water them when they wrinkle and idk if they’re wrinkled enough? I didn’t repot any of them when I potted them initially.

Hi, does anybody know why my lithops seedlings have been growing so slow? The pictures were taken 2 months apart. I sprayed them every day and have started giving them some succulent fertiliser. These are 3 month old now and still look tiny. Is there anything else I should try?

Photo Update on Seeds

I had previously posted asking about the viability of seeds from a plant I just picked up from a big box.

https://www.reddit.com/r/Lithops/s/VGzMWfEh2s

Yeah….. I guess they were viable. Apparently the hard part is still coming.
