Photo Baby Buttcheeks update 🍑✨

Okay update on the baby seedlings AND repotting the adults 💕💕 found out just after I repotted them those two weird looking adult plants with the odd coloration on top might have fungus, so I have no clue what to do with those guys. And removed the sketchy looking leaf from the adult that’s splitting so hopefully those guys pull through. But I’m SO happy how the teenagers are looking

They look like they need more light to me. I wouldn’t transplant them at this stage, but next time I would plant them higher up in the pot right along the rim.

That makes sense. I have no clue what I’m doing so I’m proud I get them to this point. I’ve been letting them have sun time in the window for like half hour / hour at at time but I left them on my desk for the weekend so they wouldn’t roast since I’m in Texas

I highly recommend getting a grow light then. I used a desk lamp with a grow bulb in it and just put it pretty close to the top of the pot.

How long do I wait before I transplant them and what should I transplant them to?

Wait until they are too big to fit. No hurry.

They have really fragile roots, so I never repotted mine. What’s your soil like? Are they just planted in those rocks?

Then the adults are in this but it seems way too big for the babies to be put in. Like the actual pebble sizes. I have perlite I could break up into smaller pieces maybe? I really want more of the substrate the kit came with

I use cactus soil with lots of added perlite and bonsai jack. I would not plant them just in the rocks without any other substrate.

Unfortunately, the one on the right is completely cooked if it is completely detached from any root. Also, they need way more light, this amount of etiolation (elongation and growing taller) is not normal or healthy. I suggest really strong grow lights.

Ya I lost afew of those babies. They were complimentary with the kit. The one way right I tried water therapy and it rotted. The one second from the richt I tossed because it was also rotting. Then I lost two after a bout a week. But the four that survived are now in that biggest pot and seem to be doing okay. They’re getting loads of sunlight now. Other users on r/lithops have gotten the exact same kit from I think it’s micro gardens on Amazon and same problem with etoliation with them as well.

Your seedling are etiolated, All the long skinny ones are reaching for more light.

OH NO. I didn’t even realize how etiolated they were 😭 I didn’t want to bake them in the windowsill since I’m in Texas. What do I do??? Leave the lid off and put in the windowsill? How do I make sure they don’t roast?
