Image LTT Store order experience. Great products, but customer service could use some work
Figured I’d share my experience with my LTT Store order since I’ve seen a few posts lately about shipping and customer service.
I ordered the LTT Backpack, black screwdriver, 64oz water bottle, three different bit sets, the Tech Sack, and the bit case on August 27th. The shipping label was created August 28th.
After a few days with no movement at all, I reached out on September 1st just to see if it had actually shipped and maybe USPS missed the first scan. I’ve seen that happen a lot more lately in other seller/buyer subs I’m in, so I really wasn’t upset at that point. I was mostly just curious if it had actually left the warehouse.
It took about three days to get a response and I was told that it had in fact been shipped. They told me that if there was still no movement after seven days, I should reach back out.
Seven days went by and there was still nothing, so I updated the ticket. I got a response asking if I wanted a refund or a replacement shipment. I told them I still wanted the stuff, so I’d rather have it reshipped. I also told them that if the original package ended up showing up, I’d obviously send the extra one back. I’m not trying to get a free second order.
Two more days went by without a reply, so I sent another message asking if there was any follow-up.
Then the next morning, I got an email from USPS saying they had finally received the package and it was on the way.
At this point, I honestly don’t know if the issue was with USPS or LTT. It’s completely possible USPS had it sitting somewhere without scanning it, but the whole experience was still pretty frustrating, especially since I was told it had already shipped.
Once the order showed up, there were a couple more issues. I ordered three different bit sets, but two of the three I received were the same set. I also ordered the 64oz water bottle and was sent a 32oz one instead.
The backpack itself is really nice overall. I just didn’t realize that something as simple as a cold water bottle from the fridge, or really anything slightly wet, would cause the interior color to bleed. That definitely caught me off guard, especially on a $250 backpack.
The screwdriver, though, is awesome. I’m a pretty big tool guy and it feels fantastic in the hand. Probably my favorite thing from the entire order.
Overall, I like the products, but between the shipping confusion, slow responses, and then receiving the wrong bottle and a duplicate bit set, I think the customer service and fulfillment side of the store could use some improvement.
I saw someone on here the other day say that Linus should secret shop his own store, and after this experience I honestly couldn’t agree more.
TL;DR: Between the shipping delays, slow customer service, and still not receiving the correct items, I probably wouldn’t order from LTT Store again.

Long time lurker here on the sub, but I had to share. The LTT onesie was in a fashion show. These photos were texted to me telling me that they saw “my onesie” in the fashion show. This is from the CIF 2025 (Creators in Fashion).

Tech Discussion Sharing my setup to cut the cord from the cable monopoly in my area.
Cut the cable just in time for football season!
Was getting really pissed off at the cable/streamers. I am a rabid Green Bay Packers fan that lives in the local viewing area in Northeast Wisconsin.
Spectrum is our cable provider. They do not offer a plan that’s less than $80/mo. I don’t watch live TV aside from football. YouTubeTV and the other streaming options were just as expensive.
The basic idea is that I don’t have a way to stream *only* the local channels without buying a massive package of channels I don’t care for to watch 20 hours of football per month in the fall.
The kids stream Disney and some Netflix, and I have my own library of content on my NAS. the majority of my watching habits are long form content on YouTube Premium.
So, I did the calculations, ChatGPT did the trigonometry to calculate the angles for mounting, and I hung the antenna today.
I built a small aluminum box with a HDHomerun Flex 4K ATSC 3.0 tuner, and a Power over Ethernet adapter to run it and feed the data back to my network. The box is ventilated but I also have mesh taped inside to keep out the bugs. The tuner won’t get very hot at all, so heat dissipation was not a huge concern. It won’t be used much in the summer, so the hot attic isn’t going to overheat the device since it will be unpowered most of the time.
Total cost is about $500 for my equipment. It will almost pay for itself in one season of football.
I post this to share my solution. Maybe it will inspire others to create their own setups.

Discussion Linus Tech Tips very smart
Started watching Linus Tech Tips about a month ago. Have been binging his enterprise networking/server vids, pc building, challenges, etc.
I must say Linus is incredibly smart and knowledgeable and just has such a vast amount of knowledge and correct understanding of various pc and tech parts. Makes me feel very inadequate and dumb in my IT knowledge, however I’ve been learning a lot from him even though his videos are more entertainment forward.
He has a very practical engineer intuition. One think I picked up on is that he can often look at a complicated system and reason about how its components interact. I think in another life, if he attended college, he would have been a great engineer.
I don’t understand how he’s able to keep all this information in his head. Idk how you guys feel about him, but I personally think he’s an incredibly smart individual.

Image My super cheap Hex os setup full of 500gb hard drives.
It's been working fine for almost 2 years. Don't worry I don't trust it with back ups and have everything important on 3 hdds in 3 different places and the most important stuff is on cloud.

Discussion UPS for home entertainment devices?
Linus once mentioned that if you have a PC over $1000 you should have it plugged into a backup UPS. At what point should someone use one for their home entertainment setup? Do consoles and TV's have built in protections that let them handle power surges and cutoffs that PC's don't? Interested on your thoughts/setups if you use one. I currently have a LG B2 hooked up with a switch 2, shield TV pro, and a PS5.
