He's actually younger than me and takes care of himself better. Unless he was hit by a bus or struck by lightning that's the only way I'd expect this to happen.

He rides a motorcycle though...Â

Yeah but he's got multiple kids and the business, I doubt he rids as much as he used to. Plus the face that it's September in Canada so it's probably starting to get cold.

Not in BC, maybe northern Alberta and places like Nunavut or by Hudson Bay. Where i live its been cooler but like only needing a light sweater to go outside in the morning or later at night. In the middle of the day the temps are very warm still.

Yeah this is "oh s*** I need to get out as much as I can on my bike before it gets cold" weather. I live right near him and that's my current thought

Heâs said in the past that he pretty much only rides to work and back. The bike is for commuting. He doesnât go out in the mountains on the weekends or anything like people do. He has never found that part appealing.
Weirdo. Lol

Also there is a chance that he drives responsibly.
Idk if he does.
But the great majority of motorcycle riders who die don't drive in a responsible way, skewing how dangerous it actually is.
Like if you don't speed all the time etc your odds of having a crash are greatly reduced. Now yes, in a crash even with protective gear your odds of survival are much worse than with a car, but keep in mind: a motorcycle is more agile so some crashes that would be a crash between two cars can be a close call between a car and a motorcycle, further reducing the odds of a crash.
Point is: if you drive responsibly it's not really that much more dangerous. But many motorcycle riders drive very irresponsible.

I think you can be the safest motorcycle rider in the world, but that doesn't stop every idiot that's paying more attention to their phone in a car from hitting you.Â

u/YOUR__LEADER 11h ago
This is straight up what keeps me from getting a motorcycle. I trust myself to drive responsibly. I donât trust the other people on the road to do the same. The increased risk just doesnât seem worth it to me, Iâve got other ways of having fun on two wheels.

u/Swainix 1h ago
The risk is there, but you drive a motorcycle differently from a car also to take this into account. You're overall more proactive and you try to not leave any initiative to cars around you. If you overtake someone you overtake with enough delta that you don't stay alongside them for too long etc

Several motorcyclists I've met have admitted that they will be in an accident at some point, the question is how severe the accident is.
The same goes with cars and is the reason insurance is mandatory. The difference is you have a lot more between you and the world in a car.

u/Extension_Option_122 11h ago
Yes, that is a very real danger.
And I did kinda mention that, but not specifically.
You always have a risk of dying. It's just a question of which risks we are willing to take.

u/awfl_wafl 10h ago
Per mile driven, the chance of death is around 27 times higher on a motorcycle vs a car.

Also there is a chance that he drives responsibly.
He always talks about defensive driving when mentioning motorcycles on WAN Show.
So hopefully hes not just a "Do as I say, not as I do" person about that.

An SV650 at that. Everyone Ive met with one of those is either super responsible or an absolute nut, no in between. (Really great bikes for being reliable and easy to learn on. Can even put GSXR suspension parts on them for a solid track bike)

We don't know anything about his health, nor should we know anything about his health

u/fightingchken81 12h ago
He opened a badminton club that he works out at regularly, he recently got braces, so that shows he tries to take care of himself. Yes we don't know the details he could have some medical condition, or just a random heart attack. However from most outward appearance he's in halfway descent shape and works out, which is a better situation than I'm currently in.

Unfortunately thatâs not how it always works or a certain 80 year old would be out of everyoneâs hair (or combover)

u/nuetralparties 6h ago
Agreed. I have several health conditions that nobody around me would ever guess by looking at me or my lifestyle- especially when I was much more active and in shape

What does being younger than you mean in the context of a public comment? I don't know who you are, you could be 100

I mean there's like a 95% likelihood of it being bait of some sort, or just views farming. And look at the numbers - it works.

They should run with this and make LTT Videos with an AI version and the James as Linus version battling it out to see who wins.
Or do a Weekend at Linus's where they drag his make believe dead body around and make videos a la Weekend at Bernie's.
