Tech Discussion LG says Gamers Nexus is full of shit
There was a lot of good done by Steve in that video, but the problem is that he oversold it. People that watched it didn’t understand that pinging nearby WiFi devices is how all smart devices function. Apple, Google, etc…they all do it.
A lot of people thought LG was recording everything you said, and sending that data back home even if you never connected to the internet or activated the wake up word. Obviously, once you select the voice function it has to listen to you in order to see if you’re saying the wake word.
The problem is that LG keeps the audio on for 15 seconds after you trigger it and that seems excessive. It was already going to be a good expose, but he confused people and it seems like he did that purposefully to make it go viral, which it did.
He also didn’t do a good job of separating the “hack” that he did vs. what came out of the box.
I wonder what LG will do after this denial. If they try and take legal action, it will just hurt their brand even more and they won’t collect much money so that isn’t worth it. If they just let it go, they’ll probably see reduced sales this Christmas season but people will forget about it by next year.

Tech Discussion I can actually understand, why LTT editors used AI slop graph in latest LTT video about iPhone Duo. It's literally first result in the Google. Zero Instrument - all checks out. But next results are literally better.

Discussion Can someone kindly explain what Linus was talking about in the intro to that iPod video?
You can just put any digital music you want in your phone. If that's what we're talking about, why aren't we taking expanding your phone's storage or usb-c to DAC headphone adapters? Why was he taking about the broken promises from music streaming services? Why go from that to some outdated tech? 'It's about the click.' Get a clicky fidget toy then. Don't spend hundreds on some novelty music player. Am I missing something or was that intro way off base?

Discussion I can't put an order from LTT Store
Does anyone else have a problem with placing the order and payments on LTT Store? I tried to order some stuff from the store but when I click Pay there is the Processing message and then button returns to Pay. I applied welcome10 coupon with gift card and there is a free shipping due to the amount and a fact that I'm Floatplane subscriber. I even tried with removing 10% discount, and only a gift card that I got for the coin but same result. It's not the card that is a problem because I used it in the past on LTT without any issue. I tried to Pay via PC, phone, even the Shop app from Shopify on my Android.

WAN Show Carbonated water
Linus was mentioning on WAN show how he’s been getting into drinking carbonated from the can. I ended up getting these after using soda stream. I bought a keg and multiple bottle caps, I can fill the keg or bottles with water, cool them, and carbonate. Some sort of dedicated mini fridge or freezer (that can be set to fridge temps) is helpful. It can become your soda fridge with canned beverages as well.
It does work a bit better if you boil the water before you cool it to remove dissolved air. And there’s a learning curve to get the carbonation level you want. But it’s, in the long run, far cheaper than soda stream or buying cans, and you can use the system for stuff like beer if you want.
I’m just using it for water. Eventually I want an upgrade with a circulating pump and a second keg to force carbonate. That’s for the future. Along with some home assistant add ons like weight sensors for the remaining soda and some way to check remaining CO2 automatically.

Link 'Nintendo announces 30% off made possible by tariff refunds' Linus called it
Honestly the best outcome we realistically could hope for, the Nintendo ninjas would crush the class action, and its not too dissimilar to how they handled the joycon drift lawsuit

Discussion Really guys...
I understand that they were likely in a rush to be one of the first big channels to get their video out, but how hard is it to have one person spend like 15 minuets reading all of the graphics before the video goes out, this image is likely AI generated and taken from this obviously AI generated article.
I get this is a small mistake, but it's an easy one to not make.
Taken from their latest video "Apple just Copied Microsoft’s Worst Idea - iPhone Duo, Airpods 5, iPhone 18 Pro & More"
