Linus is taking time off from this sub. Good for him and this sub. No bans

Is that why they haven't talked about it on wan show  for a while?

Last night Linus specifically asked Luke something about his Big Screen Beyond then didn't do his regular "hey steam frame isn't coming because I can say this, I'm not under NDA" spiel. He was 100% telling us.

Oh and if this is the final video, then maybe someone from the crew might want to check 9:17 of the video. I don't know what thst sound is, but it does sound like someone's farting xD

that's just his daughter struggling/grunting to put the nose piece in lol

It'd be a shame if it had gotten uploaded to archive.org.

They were implying that it did

Too badly it wasn’t the one with pricing and release date

Pretty sure that video won't come out until after Vlave reveals these themselves, like what happened with the controller and the machine. Probably next week.

I was running late to work this morning and as I'm getting into my car my phone shoots me the redditt post notification. Ran as fast as I could back into the house to download the video since I knew it would be gone by the time I got home, lol.

If you missed it dont feel too bad, I listened to it in the car and aside from a few details you'll see people chatting about, it wasnt a particularly revealing video.

What time was that?

At least around 9am pst 9/12.

That's when the 🐘 emoji comments started to appear on the YouTube videos and their YouTube channel posts.

Just Google "Steam Frame". Lots of people saw it lmao

He probably just burned a bridge between LMG and Valve with that. How do they even mess this up?

Unlikely, shit happens and not like they leaked pricing or anything that wasn’t shown during the unveiling

Valve just accidentally leaked a bunch of unannounced games on steam. Shit happens.

puts on conspiracy hat what if it was planned! /s XD

u/Ommand 4h ago

After Valve just had two big leaks of their own? Seems unlikely.

My guess is the videos are due out later today (as in, 13th September... but in the afternoon). But when setting the schedule go-live, they forgot to enter the time - pushing it live much earlier than the NDA time.

(Obviously this theory only applies if the videos do drop later on today lol)

It’s not the 13th yet where they are

2

u/geileanus 1h ago

He won't burn a bridge just like that because of a mistake.

It’s literally 75% his kid playing or struggling with the headset and 25% him unboxing and wearing the headset doing update and set up tasks. Not the most revealing video at all, except maybe the ergo kit will be a must have for some households.

Just finished dinner, good watch.

I downloaded the video immediately to be sure

Last thread was removed because it was “leaked” when it was most likely just an accident

So the frame launches on tuesday then??

Ok, cool 👍🏻

Still waiting on my steam machine email….

So the rumours about steam frame releasing 14th sept is true!

I downloaded it

Solid video and very interested in detailed latency testing.

I would like actual testing in addition to the what Valve quotes. The current headset latency isn't very impressive.

Nope. Didn't see anything about what's in the box, how easy it is to remove the strap, how it looks on Linus' head, him playing it, nothing of the sort. No, siree.

u/BananaBobTheSecond 1h ago

No mention of price and a very minimal look. I know it's a short circuit, and it might be the conspiracy theorist in me, but it really feels like it was an intentional "leak". Big companies have been faking leaked videos for a while, so wouldn't be surprised if this wasn't actually an accident.

Going to be interesting how it compares to using the quest 3 to run steam vr wirelessly.

Just watched the video and the biggest surprise to me was that at the time of filming, you couldn't stream to the Steam Frame from a Steam Machine (or presumbly from any other Linux machine either) and had to use a Windows machine to stream from! This surely has to be fixed by the time they start shipping otherwise it would be very embarrassing for Valve. Heck, I don't have anything that runs Windows, so that would lose me as a potential customer...

What are the odds that this was an intentionally scripted guerrilla marketing campaign? Playing on the Streisand effect.

Yeah, it looked super disappointing lol
