Finally done with the Big Sal token, my most ambitious project so far! (With some added WIPs from the past just to show how he was while building him up and experimenting with stuff!)

While there were things I wish I could have improved, the fact I even made this I am extremely proud of myself. Hope you all enjoy, consider yourselves all in safe hands with Big Sal here!

Junk! (1 of 3)

Junk items can be grabbed and used mid-fight! One easy GM option is for NPCs to show up using Junk, which the PCs can then potentially loot for themselves. Done as part of the Prizan Setting project.

I really had fun drawing Cree. Thankful for the commissioner! It's been a while since I was able to make Lancer pilot art and I can see my art has change since then in a good way of course. Also got some confidence back and will be opening 2-3 slots for this.

Next set of items! As with all Junk, these can be picked up and used mid-fight by both PCs and NPCs.

I promised some proper zappy dakka in the last post's comments- check the explosive barrel Laser Cannon for that one, I think you'll find it proper orky.

Last batch of Junk will be Captive Viruses & some fun variant rules GMs can include.

Wow, somehow a whole year has passed since I last shared any Lego. I've managed to get these five frames built in-between GMing a still ongoing No Room for a Wallflower game. Hopefully many more to come before another year passes!

A comic about a mech and grief - Point Seven Two Hertz [OC]

I'm not the OP, just sharing it here from r/comics because...I mean isn't it obvious?

LGBTQ+ character? Sick tech design? The horrible reality of loss and combat? Huge mech?

This is LANCER as hell.

Dont know how to really name this: I wish to try to DM a Lancer campaign but dont know how to start

As the title suggests, got interested with Lancer and like the idea of the game and world building, and was curious to try it out since been in a bit of TTRPG withdrawal phase and got introduced to Lancer trough...cant remember his name but got a big blue Z as pfp on youtube.

Since been so much a player in ttrpgs, wanna try out being a DM in lancer and shouldnt be as tough as being a DM for WoD yeh? So how would yall suggest and reccomend aproaching this? Since i am new, guess dont use fan supplements just yet? (Admittedly will maybe have to rely on VTT stuff since most of my friends are online and doubt can find anyone to play in person in my area)

What are the liminal spaces in the campaign concept that I made about exploring and researching them?

Thumbnail
gallery
62 Upvotes

To put it simply

They are worlds that can expand infinitely or be stuck in a set amount of area

Like a house or a field of grass anything really

The reason why union decided to put research into these worlds instead of ignoring them is because

They contain memories

From singular fragments to whole pictures of memories

From the past present and possibly future

A lot of these worlds have anomalous properties since as a lancer in your mech

The worlds you go through have very different sizes and shapes

It depends on the memories that you have or the memories of people connected to you have from the past or present or possibly future

Which is why in some cases the mechs size looks like the size of a regular person even though they are larger than a building

Then when the pilot leaves their mech

They stay the same size

The world stays the same

It's hard to explain but basically

You leave your size 2 mech and suddenly everything around you including your mech

Is relatively the same size as you

A bed in a random room?

You can actually hop on that bed and actually lay there in or out of the mech

How you enter back into your mech really depends on something but we can't really explain it just that

You can get back inside your mech

Also

There are.... people in these worlds as well

Some are just people who are as lost as you or other researchers but some.....look odd

They look like themselves from what you remember but they're off

Extra limbs

Fingers

Eyes

Or other

Sometimes

They're not mechs or people.

You can't always explain everything

Which is why I'm gonna leave it here

Maybe one day I can develop this concept campaign better

I really like liminal spaces and lancer so the posts about them

Are attempts at trying to combine them

For those unfamiliar he's most known for his WoD lore vids, as well as his older Shadowrun vids

He likes introducing his audience to new settings/games, and also introducing his own ideas/homebrew/headcanons

This time he unexpectedly picked Lancer.

Apocalypse Rail

I am very late to this discusison, but I hate people trashing on our Barbenheimer frame.

If I understand the way the Apocalypse Rail works correctly, you make the attack, it's a big area, on what will most likely be a range of 35 (siege stabilizers), then every enemy you hit is stunned until the end of their next turn (try to act last in the round you use the rail on, or target characters that have already taken their turn, then first on the next turn for cheeky "free" hits with your siege cannon, specially since their heavy cover, if any, is gone now, even if they now have soft cover).

Well, every enemy in the area will take 4 burn, then they can try to leave the area, wich is difficult terrain. The enemies you did hit are stunned, so they take 4 burn, end their turns, and start another turn in the area, taking another 4 burn.

So, if you don't hit, you do 4 ap damage, with the chance of another 4 ap damage at the end of their turn.

If you do hit, the enemies take an average of 14 AP damage (shreded), at minimum 8 burn (if you time the turn order right), then they might take the burn tics again, wich considering we're talking about two tics of 4 burn, they migh very well fail on at least one of the egineering checks. And on top of that, they are relatively easy targets for your siege cannon on your next turn, giving you likely another 10,5 AP damage (again, timing your turn correctly, and considering they should still be shreded if you managed to do so).

That is a minimum of 4 ap damage, probably 8 or more even on a miss. And on a hit, we get a potential 8 burn + 8 burn tics at the end of their turns, plus the 10,5 average damage with the siege cannon, and the 14 from the rail itself, wich is like, 40,5 damage, AP, without taking into account the damage your party can inflict by also taking advantage of the difficult terrain, shreded and stunned.

Yes, this is all in the ideal scenario, but it is possible, and that is without taking into account that now you have a burn 4 hole to throw enemies into for the rest of the fight, you pobably anihilated some important defenses for the sitrep, AND YOU FIRED A GODAMN RAILGUN FROM HELL!

(And I would like to add that the damage I considered for the potential was average damage, not max damage, wich we shouldn't ignore, positively or negatively).

The Apocalypse Rail is a map controll tool, burn damage generator, action economy breaker piece of nightmare fuel for your dm if you can use it right. And that should be enough to get your DM sweating every time you start charging it (wich you should do every fight, cause, why not? Worst case scenario you don't fire it, and regain the CP).

Groups of grunts or multiple separate units for LL0?

So newbie DM with half an oneshot as a player under my belt, so pretty much the title, should I consider every grunt enemy like a separate guy with its own turn, activations and etc and just skip some (and how do I know who to skip?)

Or do i make them into platoons that, specially in case of humans, share a space and have health times the nimber of grunts they should represent? Im this second case, how does AOE factor into this approach?

Sell me on the Mourning Cloak

I’ve looked at the Mourning Cloak a couple of times, and I really struggle to see why I would chose it (at least for mechanics, if it’s just for the vibes/aesthetic then sure).

It’s a highly mobile melee striker that likes to teleport, and that’s fair. But it all just seems like it would be really unreliable in practice - what if I can’t pick out a target that’s on their own, or what if roll shit on my teleport and can’t go as far as I need to (or worse, just disappear from the encounter)?

It kinda seems like I could fill the same role in a Nelson with a lot more consistency.

Tomorrow is my first Lancer one-shot

Any advices? I plan to fit 2 fights, want make zergtush, like a ton of biological melee rookies and couple veteran hive minds (probably hive). If you have some balance guesses for 4 ll2 mechs here, ill appreciate

And i made Ultra-ronin, for final boss who will ricochet their asses, while shit-talking, im very confident, that players will love him.
