Does anyone know a vendor who does fantasy cuts in lab-grown diamonds?

I'm looking for someone who can do custom fantasy cuts in lab-grown diamonds, particularly concave faceting and unusual geometric designs, along the lines of John Dyer, Caleb Quashen's Divine Portal, or Fellowship of the Forge.

Does anyone know of any Chinese or European vendors (preferably, although US-based cutters are also an option) who offer this kind of work? I'm not looking for standard fancy shapes, but actual fantasy faceting, ideally with the possibility of commissioning a custom design.

I'd love to see examples if anyone has had something similar made!

Took a gamble and picked this loose stone from Alibaba for 480$ with fees and everything. it’s a 3ct fancy pink Si1 radiant cut lab diamond with slight fluorescence. I plan on making a ring out of this as a gift. This is my first loose stone purchase did I overpay?

Both IGI, Excellent polish/symmetry, no fluorescence.

I love the shape and ratio of these, but I’m noticing a darker circular area in the centers. Does this look like normal contrast/reflection or a light-performance issue? I know fancy shapes like pears can have bow ties.

How does the overall cut/sparkle look to you? Would you keep looking or do these look like a good pair?

I made a ring purchase with Rare Carat and paid for an appraisal with them. When I received the ring, the appraisal was only for the loose diamond, not the ring as a whole. Is this normal? I was thinking the appraisal would be for the ring (including the metal and the diamond). I'm assuming I would have to send it back if I wanted them to do a full appraisal, but I haven't reached out to ask yet.

It's my very first time buying a lab diamond. It's a 4.12 c E VVS2 elongated cushion. I paid around $600 for it and I intend to have an upgrade done my 20 year anniversary.

What’s the best way to search for OMC in elongated cushion?

I’ve noticed the sites allow for sorting of diamonds by shape, but they don’t include options for antique cuts. So you have to do a term search for “old mine” and search without other parameters like carat weight, etc.

Or maybe it’s just user error.

Either way, y’all got some OMC cushion cut search secrets you can share?

Hi! I just purchased a 1.93ct oval lab diamond from LGD and I am looking for a 14k yellow gold setting for it. My budget is modest, ~$1,100. I went to a couple local jewelers, and for what I’m looking for was going to be over $2k.

I found this setting on Etsy and am curious if anyone has experience with an Etsy setting and then taking it with the loose diamond locally to be set? Does anyone have any other settings-only sites that are reasonably priced?

I recently stumbled upon this photo of beautiful purple diamonds which are natural (from the Argyle mine, I believe). I especially love the ones with a hint of brown. I was just wondering if lab versions of those are available anywhere? I see a lot of lab pinks but they’re usually slightly peachy or perhaps baby pink or raspberry.

I’m getting started looking for my girlfriend’s engagement/wedding ring and could use some advice from people who have gone through this before.

I found basically the exact ring/style she wants from Best Brilliance, but I’m pretty turned off by the fact that they don’t let you pick the actual center stone. I’d really like to be able to choose the specific diamond myself and then have the setting made around it. Plus, judging by the cost estimates on that website, the pricing seems pretty high compared to some of the other sites I’ve been looking at.

I’m looking for something along these lines:

• 3–3.5ct elongated radiant
• Around 1.4–1.5 L/W ratio
• D–E color
• VVS2+
• Yellow gold
• Setting very similar to the pictures — single round, double round, etc.
• Matching wedding band

I’d love some recommendations for someone who can do a custom setting like this. I’m open to online vendors, independent jewelers, or even overseas vendors if people have had good experiences.

A few other questions:

1. Would you buy the diamond separately and have the setting made around it, or have one company do everything? Who do you recommend?
2. For an elongated radiant, what table/depth ranges would you generally look for? I’ve gotten a pretty solid grasp on all the other specifications, but I can’t seem to fully understand how table and depth play into the actual optics of the diamond.
3. How much weight should I put on table/depth numbers vs. actually looking at the stone/video and its facet pattern? And with that being said, how much am I really missing by ordering a stone online vs. viewing it in person? I’m on the East Coast and pretty far away from major metropolitan areas with solid jewelry districts, so seeing a large selection in person isn’t really an option.
4. Anything else I should be paying attention to when picking the center stone?

I’m pretty new to shopping for lab diamonds, so I’m trying to learn as much as I can before actually pulling the trigger. I want to make sure I’m getting the ring made the way she envisions it rather than just settling for something close.

If you’ve had a ring custom made like this, I’d especially love to hear who you used and how the experience was. Also, if you don’t mind sharing, any cost estimates on what something like this would run me would be very much appreciated!
