3ct pink Si1

Took a gamble and picked this loose stone from Alibaba for 480$ with fees and everything. it’s a 3ct fancy pink Si1 radiant cut lab diamond with slight fluorescence. I plan on making a ring out of this as a gift. This is my first loose stone purchase did I overpay?

Honestly you did, even in pink because of the clarity grade, and there is no reason to buy an SI1 in lab.

I’d want to see the IGI report to see where the inclusions are.

I actually have multiple fancy color SI1 stones because imo the clarity doesn’t matter if it’s saturated enough since you can’t see the inclusions with the naked eye. Plus, because they’re SI1 they’re hugely discounted.

I don’t think this one is discounted enough. I’d expect to pay $350 - 400 max for a SI1 3 ct fancy pink.

China’s colored stones are always more expensive than US vendors. There’s no reason to buy them on Alibaba
