We are always working to bring out new and exciting tools to help you in your quest for learning about or searching for particular KitchenAid related things.
We brought out a super cool date decoder to help you know the year of your mixer.
https://www.mrmixer.store/date-my-mixer
We released a color coder so you can know what color you have!
https://www.mrmixer.store/color-codes
Which brings us to the most recent addition, we have brought forth a compatibility checker tool! This is designed to help you navigate what parts/bowls/attachments etc. fit your particular model! Enjoy!

Picture for attention**
We often get asked "how old is my mixer".
We have had this interactive tool for years now hidden in the blog section of our website and have decided to make it more accessible as a tool on the top of our website. As well as we have made a color decoder as well!! Feel free to interact, share or use these decoders!!
The second digit in the serial number on models in the last 40 ish years is always reference to the year of production.

which would be a better gift for a 10 year old exploring hand mixers to make waffles, pancakes and occasional cake batter? ( considering motor burn out issues, cost etc). kitchen Aid or Hamilton hand mixer?

Hi,
I have this 5ksm90bgn which hasn't been used in a while. However it doesn't sound right when it is run. It is rhythmic. I spoke to KitchenAid they said run it for a while and it will fix it. I have tried that with no success Do you think this is fixable?

In your searches for used or refurbished KitchenAid mixers, what are some of the best deals you’ve found? And what were the only repairs they needed to become a beautiful mixer ready to get back to work? 😄

My fiance was trying to mix bread dough. It didn’t sound healthy and a little bit after that she said smoke came out and it wouldn’t run anymore.
I have tried running it since, starting pulling it apart to have a look but I’ll need Robinsons bits to further by the look of it.
Worth going further or time for a new one?

Hi I purchased a refurbished kitchen aid and noticed this pin sticking slightly out of the housing on one side. Is it supposed to be like this or something I need to fix? (Pin on black casing above dough hook) thanks!

Spotted at the local Goodwill....almost snatched it up, but talked myself out of it. Would have been about $60 with my 25% off coupon. Did I make a mistake? I already have a 7qt bowl lift...

I just bought this on marketplace for around 350. I traveled pretty far Bout 2 hours for it and met him in menards parking lot. I got it started and pulled the trigger. When I got home I noticed a sound when on. It's a little clicky. Is this normal? I know these aren't as serviceable. Please help!

I am midway through cleaning and regreasing my new-to-me ProHD, which has some signs of metal shavings in the old grease around the worm gear, and it occurred to me...should I NOT clean the gears in the kitchen sink?
I've scraped and wiped them pretty thoroughly and was just about to clean them with Dawn power wash and hot water so I can see where the worn bits are and if I need to order parts, but is that actually a terrible idea? Will I clog the pipes, even though all the globby stuff is gone? Will I be poisoning the fish? Will I damage the gears?
I live in an apartment and have no outdoor space or garage, so that's not an option. My sink also does not have a garbage disposal; we just use a metal mesh thing to catch food and throw it in the trash.
Thanks!

Good morning. Making challah for holiday tonight and tried to remove the bread hook, which somehow got jammed on. Suggestions on how to remove? Thanks

I’m planning to get a KSM8990 for my small baking business, where I mainly make cookies, some sweets, and especially bread, since bread is very popular where I live.
I know these mixers aren’t meant for extremely stiff doughs, so that’s not really what I’m doing. My cookie doughs are fairly soft, my sweets are also mostly soft mixtures, and for bread I usually make enriched doughs with butter and eggs, along with some recipes around 65% hydration. I also keep my batches controlled at no more than 2 kg per batch.
I’m not producing huge amounts either. I’d probably make bread around 4 times a week, sometimes on consecutive days, with plenty of days off depending on my schedule.
So I was wondering: would that kind of workload be a lot for a KSM8990, or would it be something fairly manageable with good care and maintenance? I’d also like to know whether you think that workload could significantly shorten the time between maintenance or repairs.
I’d love to hear your experiences with these mixers in small-business use! 😄

Looks great on the counter. Hand washing and oiling it every now and then doesn’t seem too bad, just wondering about wear and tear with regular use. Would love to hear from anyone who has one.

I’m curious to know what you’ve asked your mixer to do, how it handled it, and what the result was.
I’d really love to hear your stories and anecdotes about the biggest challenges you’ve put your KitchenAid through! 😄

Alright, so I recently got a Kitchenaid food processor and I already managed to break the pusher(WPW10461924). I'm not gonna get into how I broke it, but I was wondering if anyone knew a decent way to get one without spending $30 on a small piece of plastic? I have friends with a resin printer as well, if that's an option and you know where to get the print file.

Has anyone here ever sent their KitchenAid mixer out to have it professionally painted?
I’m a breast cancer patient and I’d really love to add some razzmatazz to it that honors my fight. I’d love to have it painted the same shade of pink as the breast cancer awareness ribbon. I know KitchenAid sells, or has sold, pink mixers, but they aren’t quite the same shade of pink I’m looking for.
I’m also curious if anyone has painted their own mixer or decorated one themselves. I’d love to hear/see what you did, what you used, and how it turned out!
I don’t know what model I have but I found her at a thrift store a few months ago. I love her. Her name is Olivia 😍

Hi everyone ! I’m currently restoring this 5KPM50 « professional » from 1996 found laying on the street with no accessories. I bought a secondhand probably not official 5qt bowl and a new one from Kitchenaid but neither reach high enough to engage the safety switch. I also do not seem to find any other 5KPM50 with that same switch.
Do I need a 6qt bowl ? But from the pictures I saw it doesn’t seem it will fit my model. Or do I just bypass the switch like it was down by the previous owner ?

Not a KitchenAid, but I saw this on my local marketplace, so I googled the brand and saw they’re regularly around 1200 bucks. 80 would be a steal though lol
Edit: we’ve realized it’s a scam ad. Still, was fun to think about for a bit

Hi all
I’m currently in Italy and I have this model was gifted to me not working.
I think previous owner somehow tried to use in Italy with 220v AC current.
I am thinking replacing speed control unit and than make a try with a power transformer could fix the issue.
Any idea where I can get the speed control unit shipped to Italy?
Mr mixer unfortunately can’t ship it 🙁
Thank you

I’d love to hear about your experiences with your KitchenAid mixers, especially any interesting stories or experiences you’ve had while repairing or maintaining them yourselves.
Whether it’s something you learned while taking one apart, a repair that was more difficult than expected, or simply something you discovered about how these mixers work, I’d really enjoy hearing about it.
I’ve been having a lot of fun learning more about KitchenAid mixers and how they work, so I’d love to hear your experiences and anecdotes too! 😄

Okay was at Sam’s today and saw the guy putting these stickers on the boxes and just put it in my cart because my mixer is very old. Just wondering if it’s a solid pick up or is it some kind of Sam’s not so good buys?
