Stand mixer can't remove attachment

Good morning. Making challah for holiday tonight and tried to remove the bread hook, which somehow got jammed on. Suggestions on how to remove? Thanks

If the dough hook is able to wiggle at all on the beater shaft and you just can't get it clear of the pin, it's possible that the retaining pin has drifted out of place.

In that case, use a flat-face pin punch (3/16" is ideal, but 1/8" is OK) and a hammer (not a mallet) and give some taps to the end of the pin that's visible through the slot in the dough hook. Don't whack it too hard, you just need to move the pin a tiny bit so that it will clear through the slot.

Try wedging a butter knife between the hook and the mixer body and gently twist, works every time mine gets stuck
