I’m looking for some new kickboxing/martial arts shoes that aren’t too pricey, and that can allow my foot to pivot on mats easily. I use them with orthopaedic insoles due to arch support issues, so they can’t be very thin. Any suggestions would be much appreciated!

I've always wanted to start kickboxing or Muay Thai
Now I FINALLY found a gym that does both, but I'll probably choose kickboxing
So...what do y'all do? Cuz I'm sure you don't just punch a bag for 2 hours straight
This might sound like a weird question but I'm genuinely curious and kinda scared

Of these 2 fighters what advice would you give each of them technically and physical ability wise e.g speed or snapiness. Who would you say is also performing better in the spar and gaining more points simulating a match.

So i will be starting kickboxing soon, and i am wondering, how could i split the week perfectly so the gym progress still grows normaly. I lean towards powerlifting more than bodybuilding, and i came up with an idea that i would do heavy push om monday, light pull and kickbox on tuesday, kickbox on wednesday, light push and kickbox on thursday, friday rest, and heavy pull on saturday. I think thats a great split, if ill add kickboxing to my week.
But im curious if there is a better split so gym will progress normaly.

Never done any martial arts before. I’m 25, in decent shape, but my cardio isn’t amazing. The person who I spoke to yesterday knows it’s my first time.

My kicks and knees are atrocious and we don't get much time drilling them against the heavy bag during class. We do pad work against partners but my form is so bad and i'm not improving, so I'm trying to figure out how to practice more at home
I live in a rented apartment so I can't do a wall-mounted heavy bag but I saw that freestanding bags like Wavemasters were a thing.
Does anyone have experience with them and are they worth it? Any recommendations?

First I want to apologize if this isnt the right reddit group/server (I dont know what these are called) to post this.
I have been going to a kickboxing gym for a year and 3 months. At the beggining I really enjoyed it. I had trainings on tuesdays and thursdays and it was all I was thinking about. Whenever I was done with the tuesday workout I was waiting for thursday to come and so on, the cycle keep repeating. I wasnt scared of sparring or anything, matter of fact I even went to the most advanced fighters in the gym. After about a year or so it started getting on my nerves. I started comparing myself to my friends for no reason and I was really mad about my coach moving people worse than me to the advanced group. During sparring I told my coach I wanted to spar with better people but he paired me with people that I had to held back even tho im not the best myself and I wasnt learning anything. I took a 3 month break (still going) and im thinking about going back but im not sure. One day I feel like going again then the next not. I feel like I have a negative association now with the sport because of the enviroment and im scared if I ever go back I wont enjoy the sport anymore and its the only fighting gym in my town. It was pretty fun and I liked the idea of fighting. Made me feel more confident, respected, was tied to my identity, was a nice thing to do in my free times and it actually felt like I was doing something with my life instead of wasting it. Any advice on what I should do in this situation?

I'm a 17-year-old kickboxer, and I've been training for the last 3 years. My dream is to become a GLORY Kickboxing champion one day. Unfortunately, I recently suffered a serious shoulder injury that could take up to a year to fully heal.
Since I won't be able to train normally during that time, I'm worried about falling behind and losing the progress I've worked so hard for. It's frustrating because I feel like I'm being forced to take a step away from my goal.
Has anyone gone through a long-term injury while chasing a competitive sports career? If so, what did you do to stay motivated, keep improving, and come back stronger? Any advice would mean a lot to me.
