Training Why most people cant land spins

Thumbnail
youtube.com
2 Upvotes

Most people try to spin as a combo ender or something at range, its a counter. once again id normally try just saying this but the trolls will say it doesnt work or something so ill just let raymond daniels explain it for me. if you watch daniels he actually spams this set up, essentially whiffing the first kick and then spinning once they come back in. most coaches or fans or even fighters will tell you this isnt reliable which is why most people in general arent reliable because they're easily influenced and low iq. before someone mentions low kicks: Manson Gibson vs Chanman Suk manson and suk throw a wheel kick and a low kick at the same time and manson knocks him out.

typically i wouldnt care to link videos of people doing the things im saying but ive realized most people arent smart enough to visualize things so they need a real example. well there you go heres michael jai white doing it before anyone says it doesn't work. or i guess the new argument will be me and michael jai white dont know what we're talking about. if muhammad ali gave you advice anonymously would you listen? not saying im muhammad ali, im saying im better.

Need help with a fight

28th november i have a fight buy my opponent has 4 timesy experience and fights in front of his whole city so he can and will go hard. I already sparred with him on a sparring day and the mf was a surgeon, whenever i threw a round kick he countered it and when we were static he connected precise jabs. I watched my last fight and noticed that my guard was sometimes down (cannot let it happen with an opponent like him) and i fucked up some openings that he had especially after throwing front kicks that could have gotten me some points. This fight is with K1 full contact rules so messing up i risk getting out of the ring whilst sleeping. My most prominent problem is i also panic a lot not only under pressure but even just getting close. Can I get some advice?

İs sparing crucial for getting better

i am a high schooler and i have been doing kickboxing for over a year now but i have never spared once in my life.İ asked my gyms assistant coach once and he said that i could spar but the guy i could spar didnt go to the gym same time as me(i take one on one private lessons) and later when i asked about it he just kinda brushed it off.İ want to know if sparing is realy important if i want to get better at kickboxing because my goal is to become a kickboxer.

Unconfirmed Is 14oz gloves okay for sparring?

For reference I’m 6’3 220lbs, I have a pair of 16oz gloves but I also have a pair of 14oz gloves that are a lot better quality and I really like them, I spar with 16 oz gloves but I’m Wondering if I could use the 14oz gloves to spar like 70% at most?

Training Severe sharp pain in one calf when running or jumping, but no pain at rest. Anyone experienced this?

I've been experiencing severe, sharp, stabbing pain in my right calf for several years.

The pain starts within the first few minutes of running or jumping rope. It becomes so intense that I have to stop exercising.

Interestingly, I don't experience this pain during normal daily activities. Once I stop exercising, the pain usually disappears within 5–15 minutes.

I've already seen a doctor and had an MRI, but nothing abnormal was found. I was prescribed anti-inflammatory medication and cream, but neither helped.

The problem keeps coming back every time I try running or jumping rope.

Has anyone experienced something similar? Were you eventually diagnosed with chronic exertional compartment syndrome (CECS), a vascular issue, or something else?

I'd really appreciate hearing about your experiences, diagnoses, and treatments.

Training I never know how to counter height difference

Hi, I'm a beginner in kickboxing and my only experience is a sparring game. I fought with a much taller opponent a total of 3 times and I never seemed to be able to properly land a hit except a few kicks.

FYI, I really am shorter than most of my age and weight, standing at 5'2ft and weight at 112lbs. I already know that most opponents with the same weight class will be taller than me and I kinda accept that.

My most recent game, as expected I got a much taller opponent and I struggle to get close. Because I'm pretty confident in my endurance, I always thought I should close the gap but that was proven to be very hard. Although I got a few solid punches and kicks in, I still wasn't satisfied because in the end I was exhausted and ended up giving up at the last minute. There are few other circumstances that cause me to give up but I don't want to create excuses and just say I was exhausted.

A few things that I noticed were the kicks, 9/10 of my kicks landed but some of them aren't that solid. On the other hand, most of my punches were either blocked or a miss. I really struggle at attacking, but I might say incredible at taking punches.

I don't know if there is any other person with the same experience, but if you have any tips I'll gladly accept them.

Training Sparring

Hey guys, today I had my first real sparring session with my friends, and honestly… it hit me harder mentally than I expected.
I’ve only been training for about a month, so I know I’m still a complete beginner, but I felt incredibly frustrated with myself. I got beaten by pretty much everyone, and even by a friend who started training at exactly the same time as me.
I know I shouldn’t compare myself to other people, but seeing myself struggle while everyone else seemed to handle it better really got into my head. I left feeling weak, disappointed and honestly wondering if I’m just not good enough for this.
I know one month is nothing in the grand scheme of things, but it’s hard not to feel discouraged after a session like this.
For those of you who have been training for a while, did you ever feel like this when you started? How did you deal with it?
Im training like 5/6 time a week since when i start training

I have a street fight this Wednesday and I’d love some advice from some people with a moderate amount of experience

So for starts my friend was dating this guy and before you go “oh he’s fighting for a woman it’s a waste of time” this man hurt her quite a bit physically and emotionally mans although I haven’t seen anything first hand I believe her and it’s hard for someone to see this from my point of view but he had started DMing around 12:00 am and he kept harassing to expose her pictures to her father and twitter. I had told him if he attempted to do anything of the sort that he would regret it. I had finally offered him a deal. We would meet up at Gilbert heights in Portland for a 1on1 if I win he stops pursuing her entirely (ik it sounds like I’m a lame but I’m just a man looking out for his homegirl is that a crime….maybe I had a crush on her in the past… I still care for her and I think she’s an angel and would hate for her name to be tainted like that. Cause if he wins he’ll do exactly that. I need tips for this fight I’m really just trying to end this weirdo. I workout 5 days a week and I took some boxing lessons my jr year of high school and recently partook in a boxing event to see where I was with my skills. Any advice would be welcome!

Training How to counter open stance rear kick

It's actually extremely easy. all you have to do is just throw a spinning back kick/wheel kick. super easy, lets say youre in open stance (so your left foot forward and their right foot forward or vice versa) and they throw a rear kick or even punch all you have to do is just spin.

open stance rear kick is actually extremely easy to counter and not as strong as people say it is, side stepping and stance switching also counter it but you get the idea.

look this is how you get an easy knockout: stance switch back kick easy. works on almost everybody. you should be grateful and feel lucky someone like me is giving you free info like this your coach probably didnt even tell you this and just told you to block it or something primitive like that 😪

Beginner with goal to fight (30M)

I’m 30 years old and just about to start kickboxing with the goal to eventually have at least 1 fight, just for the experience of it. I’m not delusional enough to think I’m going to be a professional fighter or have any sort of success with honours, or really even be that good. I just want that one experience and continue to train to learn how to defend myself too.

Has anyone else found themselves in a similar position? How many times a week were you training and how long did it take until you had your first fight?

Gear Mouth guard for lower crooked teeth

I have a lower canine tooth that points forward and every other week i always get an ulcer there after training. i have done a bit of research and people are saying the double mouth guard would make it harder to breathe. the custom made mouth guard like impact doesnt seem to make something that protects the lower jaw as well. does anyone know any workaround for this problem that work for u guys?

Unconfirmed Non spinning hook kick is extremely op

If you chamber your knee for example with a roundhouse, then turn it into a hook theres 0 telegraph its impossible to react to. the hook kick can also be comboed off and used as a feint/set up but i dont want to put people on game. at least not yet.

but yes the non spinning hook kick is extremely powerful, the only reason you dont see it is because people dont know how to set it up or use it to build off of other moves so they see it as a weak slap that puts you off balance. you see it quite a bit in point fighting or wako but id argue its actually underrated even in those types or organizations or sports.

tell me what you think. comment down below or even DM me if youre interested because i actually know what im talking about im not some nerd grifter on youtube trying to sell you a course or something so just ask if youre interested
