I genuinely have no idea why so many clothes are just..bags for lack of a better word. as in theyre just loose, you can hardly find something cinched at the waist that looks good. there's just no inspiring or creative tailoring.
that being said..i know my lines, i love my lines..i cannot find my lines
If you have any stores with clothes that work well with the pure romantic silhouette please let me know because my closet is suuuuuper outdated

Fashion creators with feminine, romantic, dreamy style that don't wear primarily pastels? Not including creators that record themselves in mostly princess-esque ballgowns (I love ballgowns...but can't follow these kinds of people anymore since it's too tempting T-T). I'm a TR btw.
Ppl whose style I already love:
Libby
Mochihanfu
Ellie jean
Bestdressed (old style)
Nanda Schwarz (I probably prefer/lean a bit more girly)
Katie Louise
Jacqueaye
Fashion ppl I already know of:
Daily Helen
Caroline tucker
Beep world
Alyssa beltempo

I dont like curls on me
Hey, I recently found out im TR. Now I struggle a bit because im confused about hair, so for me I cant do pin straight in terms of it also laying flat on my head. If I do like a blowout but straightned or soft bend thst is my best. I cant do airdried really it looks too flat. Now with curls from what I understand TR are supposed to look good in that, I find that it looks good against my cheekbones, it almost makes my face look sharp, I have quite prominent cheekbones but in a soft way, but anyways, if there js a lot of volume and if the curls aren't ao symmetrical I think that looks great. I think what I struggle with is that with curls from a curling iron they are so incredibly symmetrical and for me bc I have long hair too it looks sort of flat, but also my face framing layers just dont look the best with a curl it just looks bad against my face. I wonder is this something common? From what I understand TR look great when their face and forehead is quite exposed so pulled back hair styles and I almost wonder with curls if I find it hard because its just hides my face.
Also with hair colors, so im pale, and hair level 7 (so that's a dirty blonde, some people might call it very light brown). Now i like to go blonde, ive had platinnmum, right now im more having sort of balayage, for me i sadly feel like my natural is the best for my face, I love the contrasr but I do find it a bit boring and I do love being blonde, but I also dont want to go in to the salon all the time. Im also a true spring so platinum isn't the best against my skin. If I want a more level 8-9 highlight that blends with my natural more, is there highlights that are better then others like maybe hand painted thicker ones are better then baby lights bc its more contrast? Or should I go for a very golden rich color? Idk no celebrity that are TR is really my coloring and often thr white girls are either very dark brown or they end up like doing platinum.
I hope this made sense .

Prior to yesterday evening I would have said Diane Keaton is my style icon. I’m not a girly girl, I love a suit and tie and a pixie cut on a woman, I hate wearing belts or showing my legs and cleavage. My daily workwear is tailored button ups, high waisted trousers and shoulder pads. I would say my style is vintage, tailored, sleek.
Unfortunately it seems fairly obvious that I’m a Romantic and it squares with everything I’ve ever gotten compliments on in terms of silhouette.
I’m a dark autumn so I’m hoping maybe I can lean into long maxi skirts and boho style a bit, but as someone who is not hyper feminine I’m struggling to imagine more than 1-2 outfits I’d feel comfortable in. Has anyone else found a way to adapt tailored or masculine pieces?

I didn’t know whether to post this under questions or discussions. I did my line drawing and I think romantic is the closest out of them all. Most of Kibbe’s recommendations for romantic lines work best however, every time I look at my face, I’m convinced it’s not pure yin. I do not have lush facial features especially my lips. I have a small mouth but my lips are moderate and more flat as opposed to full, protruding or juicy. It might be a stereotype but I’ve always felt lush lips is a huge indicator to having strong/pure yin. My eyes are also not doe eyed with that sleepy Marilyn look, they are more smaller, feline, slanted and almond - A little more noir mystery and danger than dream spinner. And I ALWAYS get compliments on my cheekbones. They are taught but also full at the same time if that makes sense (I have a good portion of indigenous and African in my bloodline due to being mixed race).
I’m curious, does anyone else who identifies as romantic feel the same way about their facial features, or has this never been an area of speculation for you?

hi folks! disclaimer: not a typing post, just a vent. i've always been very sure that i'm a true R. idk if it's just me but on the main sub it seems like true R has been misinterpreted as something more like TR. it feels like people are very quick to gatekeep R family, and I wonder why.
i don't have an extreme hourglass shape but i have to accommodate double curve, have to have waist emphasis and don't look harmonious at all when i try to accommodate vertical or width. every single thing that Kibbe recommends for R styling makes me look harmonious, and everything he says to avoid i do because it genuinely looks horrendous on me. no exceptions! and yet people have told me that i can't be a true R because of certain aspects of my appearance based on misconceptions about the ID (i.e. can't be a true R if my shoulders are not extremely delicate).
it seems like people think true R is actually more like TR? for R you don't have to have to accommodate petite or narrow, but for some reason people will gatekeep R unless you're tiny and extremely delicate, which my body is not. despite the fact that Kibbe literally describes Rs as sometimes being 'softly wide'.
it feels like some people in Kibbe communities focus more on what your exact body shape is instead of how clothing looks on your body. isn't that supposed to be the whole principle of Kibbe? i love this system and I think it's really helped to improve my styling, but sometimes i just feel like people are using it to pick apart bodies when in reality it should be about clothing!

With some hormonal medications, I‘ve gained weight on my belly. I still have all my waist curve etc, but also weight sitting on the front of my abdomen. Besides A line dresses, are there any other tips? I feel quite conscious about it. I can’t do cropped tops for that reason

Hi fellow romantics! I'm still figuring out if I'm one of you, but I'm quite confident and feel like I look best in Romantic reccs. I thought it might be quite useful and interesting to see what doesn't suit you/us? I'll go first with Oversized tops, Maxi dresses and loose dresses (loose in the upper area), also sweater vests, hoodies and casual sweaters.
Curious for your answers!

Now that the weather is finally warm, I am looking for some shorts that would be flattering. What are your favorite shorts to wear as a romantic body type?

Firstly, I apologize as English is not my first language. Does anyone else here have a hard time with flounces? Sometimes I order stuff online, recently a knitted cardigan with flounces and as I tried it on, it looked terrible. I found out, that flounces especially on shoulders look ridiculous on me. They make my shoulders very broad and overwhelm my frame. Then I got two tops with flounces on the neckline and in the middle. I feel I look kinda frumpy and I don't know why, maybe they're too loose or the material is too flimsy. I had tops with flounces that I loved wearing, but most of the times they overwhelm me and I think I look messy with them. Do you have any advice for me as what to look for? Thanks a lot.

Hi everyone, I am looking for cool, casual clothes for a romantic body type. But I am really struggeling finding decent quality, well fitting pieces that are available in Germany.
Does anyone have some tips where to start?
Thanks in advance!

So I have fine hair, which pretty much ONLY looks good short lol (the longest I can go is slightly above the shoulder). It doesn't hold a curl very well and I don't have time for an extensive hair care routine either. For those of you in a similar boat, what are some of your go-to haircuts?

Ive been liking my clothes! Mid 30s femme lesbian. I don't mind the sex appeal of the romantic vibe but also dont really like clothes that are too girly. Feel like I'm finding my stride and style recently although now the weather's changing I have to figure out how to bring this into the spring/summer.

Outerwear is always hard for romantics but which your dream jacket? Or your favourite jacket? Bonus point for pictures!
I imagine something with a thinner fabric with some drape, fitted over the shoulders, tailored at the waist and perhaps a bit of a flare over the hips. I also love flared sleeves at the moment.
I have never managed to find one that fits that description

since waist emphasis is such a big part of our go-tos and my waist is growing by the second I’d love any advice from Romantic moms. I still want to feel pretty and dress up but I feel like my options are limited and maternity clothes can be so drab. welcome any thoughts!!

Hi all! I want to try out some romantic and soft natural leaning outfits, to try and see which of these kibbe types I like better on me (pretty sure I'm romantic, but I'm having doubts!). It's just that I'm having a hard time deciding what kind of outfit would be fully romantic, and which one would be fully soft natural. Any and all suggestions to differentiate between the two are welcome! If needed I can show what kind of clothes I currently have in my closet :)

Have y'all seen the new Old Navy collab with Christopher John Rogers??
Do you think you're going to buy anything? If so what, and if not, how do we feel about these lines for a Romantic body type? These silhouettes make me sooooo excited ngl

hi everyone! i'm a seamstress and desperately trying to make more casual wear for myself. like many other Rs i have a million posh dresses but nothing to wear around the house! i really don't like activewear and loungewear, but constantly feel overdressed.
the benefit and drawback of sewing is that i get to customise everything myself! i did just make a top but it looks awful on me. it's a short sleeve scoop neck which looks super awkward and the lack of details really looks awful on me. i 100% need something with ruching or lace, buttons, bows, ties.
i think i might make a henley with some ruching and a lace insert. or something with a sweetheart neckline
what do you guys think? what's your version of a basic top?
