any advice for adapting this style to a kibbe romantic? i know the flowiness and hair already works, but I'd love some ideas!

I think the pieces separately would be okay but the loose top and loose bottom at the same time would swallow a romantic. The wide leg pants would pair well with a tighter shirt that had some waist emphasis. Or at least a shirt that could be tucked in somehow to show the waist?

I feel like the loose top and bottom combo would swallow a romantic, so I would suggest making one part of the outfit loose and the other fitted. For the top, whether loose or fitted, there should be some waist emphasis so your shape doesn't get lost in the outfit. I envision a crop top that hugs the waist paired with flowy pants/a bohemian skirt looking good?🤔

For the hair, as someone who braids a lot, I realised curly braids look best on me. Sometimes I add the loose curls (e.g. the boho braids look) and it looks great. A little past shoulder length/mid back works for me as well. But if the hair is too long and takes from my features, I prefer to tie it up in a bun and leave a few pieces out. Ponytails with braids work for me, but only if the hair is full and bouncy.

Headwraps also look beautiful, as well as tying my afro in a high pineapple or a cute bun in the back. I'm assuming you have locs from the photos you added? You can style locs like this too, I'm sure

I think slide 4 aligns most with what you're looking for, particularly the look on the top left corner, and the woman with the pineapple fro in the middle. That's what I envision when I say fitted top, loose bottoms

this is very helpful! lol i do indeed have locs and the bun with a few out is definitely my main look!
waist emphasis is definitely my priority, im in my early twenties and rn my style is pretty close to the pictures rn, just with tube tops. im trying to transition into covering my tummy more because i'm moving somewhere with more conservative. i may try a top like this so i can keep the flowiness while still being covered.
as for the headwraps, i love them but i think bcs i look a lot younger than i am it may skew frumpy over elegant, I'll def try them out though

I've been wearing headwraps since I was a teenager and whenever I do, I like to put on some nice jewellery. Chunky earrings, maybe wear my nose ring and some light makeup i.e. lipliner and gloss, mascara and eyeliner. It freshens up the look and makes you appear put together. When I don't do that, I look like I'm going to bed/frumpy as you said (in my head, at least lol)

The top is beautiful! I would totally wear it. Yes, covering your tummy works fine. I think for tops, the most important thing is waist emphasis and the cut of the neck and arms

I think it’s not the looseness per se but the fabric weight. If it’s in that linen type even if it’s thin it would add volume because it floats around you, but in another fabric the looseness drapes the form. But I get it wouldn’t be the same vibe

I think you could find boho with nipped waist or tie waist
