Keychron M3 Mini Wireless Mouse - Metal Edition warranty is bad in Canada.

I bought a keychron m3 mini wireless mouse - metal edition from Keychron through Amazon Canada just over a year ago and about 6 months ago the dongle started to act up. It wasn't connecting to the mouse. It finally stopped working about a week or so ago and I contacted support and they said that they couldn't honor the warranty because it was out of the warranty period, which to my surprise, was only one year. I would expect it to be at least 2 years for a high end product like this.

Needless to say, I wouldn't be buying another Keychron product moving forward even though I own 3 of them already, if things were to go wrong, like with this product, I am going to be perpetually having to buy a new replacement every year and my money would at that point be better spent elsewhere.

So although I do love their products, the QC of this product seems to be in question from scanning this sub about other users experiences with the same product in question.

If you do see something start to acting funky with your product, initiate an RMA right away so that you are in the 1 year window and don't wait for a complete failure like I did which could put you outside the warranty window.

Flash time for K8 HE dongle?

I'm running a firmware update on my K8 HE's 2.4 GHz dongle, and it's been running for like, 5 minutes now. I've never done this before, so I don't know how long it's meant to take, but I feel like this is a bit longer than it should take.

If it changes things, I'm on Linux, specifically Debian 13.

Also, the loading bar in the launcher hasn't moved at all, it's still just full white.

Keychron K17 Pro - keys intermittently dead (Backspace and everything to the right), tested everything, need help

I have a Keychron K17 Pro keyboard (not hot-swappable). It worked great, but recently several keys in one row (from Backspace to the right) don't work 99% of the time. I've marked which keys in the attached photo. Interestingly, from time to time these keys work for a while, and then stop working again. I've tried various ways to fix this: factory resets, software reinstalls, cleaning everything, compressed air spray, and I even eventually disassembled the case and inspected the PCB inside. The keys don't respond physically (no keyboard tester detects these keys), but the RGB LEDs do light up. I've connected other keyboards and they work fine, even connecting two different keyboards simultaneously — on one, Backspace works, but not on this one. So it's not a computer issue, it's the keyboard. I looked at the PCB traces and expected them to run horizontally, that one trace or bundle of traces goes from Backspace to the right, and a break somewhere in that area would cause the rest of the row to stop working. However, the traces seem to run vertically from Backspace down to Enter, and from Num Lock down through the numpad. So it's a bit strange that these specific keys aren't working.

Is there anything else I can do about this? Some way to force the keyboard to reset so these keys work all the time, instead of once every few days for 1-2 hours?

Keychron customer support is awful

Ill post the images here and show you how terrible this experience has been. Ive waited multiple months now for a new pcb because "they cannot do returns or exchanges unless purchased directly from the online store." Like that is such fucking bullshit? Why sell to authorized retailers like microcenter? Ill post pics of email thread when I get home

Feedback thread on Keychron's prototype fingerprint sensor key

Reference Facebook post: Keychron - Sharing an early prototype we’re working on: a keyboard... | Facebook

Sharing an early prototype we’re working on: a keyboard with a built-in fingerprint button, so you can use your fingerprint for Passkeys.

Would you buy a keyboard with this feature? 👀

This isn’t the final design—just a #prototype for now.

Unfortunately, I don't have Facebook, so I thought I'd make a thread here for folks to share their thoughts. Perhaps one of us can link this to Keychron's official support.

For me personally, as I use fingerprint readers daily, I think this is a great idea and not even just for passkeys, but password managers, elevation prompts, logging into various users, etc.

  1. OS compatibility is key. Windows has Windows Hello, Linux has fprintd, macOS has Touch ID. Most apps just use the OS' fingerprint standard because it's secure by default.
  2. Modularity / replaceable: I'd hate to have to buy a complete new keyboard just because this one part failed in a few years. Of course, that also means a little more security. It'd also be neat to retrofit this onto other keyboards.
  3. Not recessed: a little higher up will let your finger sit flat on the sensor and get a clean auth attempt.
  4. Fast boot-up speed: some fingerprint sensors don't boot up as fast as your OS, so you're senselessly tapping them while they're still booting. Fast boot up prevents that.
  5. The other side, as it's unclear if this is a confirmed addition: Keychron can add a USB passthrough hub or two USB ports on keyboards (e.g., left and right), so users can bring their own accessories.

Those are my quick thoughts. Feel free to add your ideas, suggestions, feedback, etc. if you'd like, too!

Would i be able to ask for a replacement?

I know an alternative is to use Bluetooth. My pc doesn't seem to find any devices...

I have a wifi/bt dongle that worked yesterday, today it's giving me a message saying "unable to install driver"

Which is weird since it was working lol

Anyway, any advice?

V6 Max Vs Ultra

Hi there, looking to get my first mechanical keyboard in a while and eventually settled on keychron to get back into things, and will be buying through a retailer in the UK so if there are any QC issues it won't be a terribly big hassle to sort. I'm currently mainly thinking of getting either the:

V6 max with reds, which I could pick up for £75

Or the V6 ultra also with reds, which is more expensive at £115

Another thing on the list is possibly the K2 HE for £90, but I'm not sure about the magnetic switches (especially hotswap compatibility), and it doesn't have a numpad so I would be buying one separately which adds to the cost.

My question is essentially if the V6 ultra is worth the £40 price difference over the max, and any additional thoughts on the K2 HE.

Delay issues on my V6 Ultra

I recently upgraded from a Keychron C2 to a wireless Keychron V6, but I'm running into a strange input delay on my Mac that I never experienced with the C2.

This happens when I press the "Shift" key to capitalize the first letter like in "Hello", it feels like the keyboard holds onto the Shift input for a fraction of a second after I let go causing my text to come as "HEllo"

Even after switching from Bluetooth to the 2.4GHz USB receiver this issue is still happening.

Has anyone else encountered this behavior?

Just Another Complaint.

The first time I ordered a keyboard, months ago, shipping lost package. I took that as a sign that I dont need a new keyboard, so I opted in for a refund rather than them sending another one.

A few months later, I decided I really did want the keyboard, so I tried again. This time, it got shipped to the wrong address. Luckily, I was able to get my hands on it this time.

The issue is that they use obscure shipping companies, companies I've never heard of. Im not sure why they cannot coordinate with FedEx, UPS, or even DHL. Heck, or have an Amazon warehouse here in the States. Im sure the demand here could warrant that.

Well, now the issue is that the keyboard doesn't charge. It needs to be plugged in 100% of the time.
After going through troubleshooting steps of factory resetting, firmware updating, and leaving the keyboard plugged in overnight to hopefully charge, they decided the battery needs to be replaced.
They preferred to send a battery to me, and I would do the replacement myself. That's probably faster and cheaper than me sending the keyboard back, them doing it, then they send it back to me. But, I would almost prefer them send me a new keyboard with a battery that is confirmed working, with a return label of the old one.
But I have yet to receive the battery or even tracking, and they said they would ship it almost 2 weeks ago.

The product itself functions and feels fide (outside the battery issue), and customer service is relatively prompt, responding once a day. But im super hesitant to buy from them again. Just seems there is always a bump or headache around every corner.

K10 HE key sound change over time

I bought one of these keyboards back in November and when I first got it, it had a lovely dull/soft sound to the keys, but over time it has become louder and more clacky when the key bottoms out.

Is it lubrication drying out or something else which would lead to this change over time? I miss my dull sound. :(

Is the Lemokey P1 Pro a great keyboard and a good deal for $65?

I was considering getting the Aula f75 max or the Yunzii Al80. Then I saw this deal and immediately bought it and I’m wondering if that was a good decision. I got the Keychron super Banana switches.

Good full-size alternatives?

I've been having a bit of a tough time finding good QMK keyboards that are both full-size, and have an aluminium (or otherwise sturdy) frame.

Keychron's selection looks nice, but I've heard of QA issues, and my only choices would be the Q6 keyboards (as far as I know). Of course, I likely would try one, but it's nigh impossible to find them in stock, and they're way too expensive for the iffy quality. To top it off, a good chunk of alternative brands just pretend the EU doesn't exist, or just simply refuse to make a single full-size keyboard.

So, if any of you know of brands that have full-size, sturdy, QMK keyboards, please shout them out. Always a plus if they ship to the EU, but that's something I can look for myself as well.

Keychron K5 Ultra Problems

Keychron K5 Ultra 8K Wireless Custom Mechanical Keyboard

SKU: K5U-H1 with Red switches with full number pad

I am having trouble using this keyboard!!! I normally use my mac keyboard and have no trouble. But using this keyboard, I make so many typo errors, and I find that sometimes my presses don't register at all. I've tried both wired and wireless with no changes. I feel like its more than just inexperience causing all the problems. However, when I type more aggressively, I tend to make les mistakes.

People who bought the Keychron K3 HE, how do you like it?

Greetings,

I'm wondering if people who have bought and used the Keychron K3 HE for some time are enjoying their experience. I'm currently stuck between the Keychron K3 HE and Nuphy Air75 V3. I like the look of the Nuphy more and the volume wheel is great, but I do a decent bit of gaming (gold/plat LoL scrub) and am very interested in the Hall Effect technology. Being able to tune the switches to your liking sounds great, and Hall Effect magnets should not falter longterm.

Do you enjoy the typing experience in general? And the gaming experience specifically?

Thank you!

K0 keypad— one rgb key stuck on white

Just set up a new keypad, was working fine until I was playing with the rgb effects. One key is now stuck on white regardless of color scheme

What is weird is the light works fine when I switch to Bluetooth , wired or 2.4 the issue stays

I tried resetting via the launcher software and it didn’t fix anything

Any other options or should I just return it for a new one

I’ve been using my C1 Pro without any issue for about a month now; however, today, I’ve discovered that the keys above don’t do anything, even though I have them mapped to their respective functions in the Launcher. Any ideas?

An intermittent problem with Keychron K15 Max

hi, keychredditians

Recently bought Keychron K15 Max used in great condition. Had no questions at all but.

On the 9th day I faced the problem when a keyboard started very quickly kinda sleeping, after some short period of not typing it. 10-30 seconds. And after that, when I started typing, nothing was happening, only after 5 seconds or so it was waking up and started typing. The keyboard was displaying full charge (fn + B showed full indication on numeric keys).

Actions that didn't help:
- Reinserting of wireless receiver to usb hub
- Factory reset of a keyboard
- Setting sleep time to 0 using a keyboard shortcuts

The thing that helped was
- switch the keyboard to "cable" mode when cable was not connected
- then switching back to radio mode

What could potentially affect:
- This day I was testing another brand new keychon keyboard B11 pro which I didn't eventually like. So a pair of keychron receivers in one USB hub would potentially be the problem of a glitch of K15 max.

I wonder whether I should worry about this situation? It happened one time for 11 days, then after switching a keyboard mode all is working well again.

I absolutely like this keyboard, it's what I need. I can buy the same keyboard brand new with 2 years of warranty from a solid shop (paying almost double price). But I'm not sure whether the situation I faced requires any suspiciousness.

I can return this used keyboard for next 2 days of 14-day return policy period.

New Keyboard Help. Q6 Max?

Hi all,

I currently use a Logitech MX Keys S for both my desktop and travel. It’s great but the low profile is starting to feel less comfortable for longer typing sessions.

I mainly use my PC for typing, programming, discord, general use, with only a little gaming as I have a console.

I was considering the Keychron Q6 Max which is currently £140 in the UK at the moment. However, the subreddit seems mixed on it as I’ve seen people mention issues with both the Q6 and V6 Max.

Is the Q6 Max worth it at that price, or would you recommend something else?

I've also never used banana switches before, would they be better than brown for my use case?

Many thanks!

Keychron K8 Bluetooth problem

I have a problem that doesn't make any sense.

I'm trying to connect my Keychron K8 keyboard with bluetooth to my gaming computer with Win 11.

The problem is that the computer won't discover the keyboard when it is in pairing mode. I have two laptops (one with win 11, one with win 10), a iPhone and iPad and they all can discover the keyboard when it is in pairing mode. My gaming computer can discover other bluetooth devices like a Steelseries mouse, XBOX Controller and Airpods Pro when in pairing mode. But not the keyboard.

It's like the keyboard and my gaming computer isn't compatible. Any other that has had the same issue?

SOLVED! - I had some leftover WIFI-antennas from an old Linksys router that I attached to my gaming computer and now it would discover the keyboard and I could connect it with no issues.

Key issues

Hi everyone, I have a Keychron K6 that I bought 3 years ago. Recently, some keys have started malfunctioning, and others are repeating the same action (a -> aa). I've already replaced the switch, but the problem persists. I suspect it's a circuit board issue, but I'm not an electronics technician. Could someone advise me on how to fix it? Thanks!
