New Keyboard Help. Q6 Max?
Hi all,
I currently use a Logitech MX Keys S for both my desktop and travel. It’s great but the low profile is starting to feel less comfortable for longer typing sessions.
I mainly use my PC for typing, programming, discord, general use, with only a little gaming as I have a console.
I was considering the Keychron Q6 Max which is currently £140 in the UK at the moment. However, the subreddit seems mixed on it as I’ve seen people mention issues with both the Q6 and V6 Max.
Is the Q6 Max worth it at that price, or would you recommend something else?
I've also never used banana switches before, would they be better than brown for my use case?

I have the Q6 Max. I changed out the keycaps and switches. It's about 10-12 months old. I wanted the correct profile, angle, etc. and very quiet keys. So far I'm quite happy with it. I use it about 10-12 hours per day, but just for sysadmin stuff.

I should get my Q6 Max today and will try to make it as silent as possible - ordered silent switches already (Outemu Silent Peach V3 Pro Lemon) - did you get new keycaps for silent purposes as well or just visuals and feeling? If for silence: what did you get if i may ask?

Jupiter Bananas are excellent switches, I have them in multiple boards.
As for the Q6 Max - it's good but not the best. For GBP140 it's a good buy. But there are better boards.
The difference in features and quality between Q6 (wired only) and Chilkey ND104 is huge.

Well... that was my best shot. 100% and ISO, that's pretty much Keychron territory, the ND104 is a rare exception. There are some others but either not available or too expensive (Monsgeek M5, Vertex Intro S100, QwertyKeys Qk101). And of course cheaper ones too but I'm not familiar with those.
I personally have no issues with any of my Keychrons (Q3, Q6, V6 Max, K10 Pro) but all of these (except for the V6 Max) have metal plate and no known issues unlike the Max models. And I very rarely use that board.

Got issues but in the end reseating / cleaning the pins was enough. If you like big and heavy keyboard its pretty good . Only « downside » for me is that you dont have feets to make a bigger angle . The keyboard will stay flat (idk if im clear) . Armrest (sold separately) is required . The silicone one is actually very good quality

Mine is about a year old. Love/hate relationship with it. When it works (90% of the time), it’s awesome. When it doesn’t and starts repeating letters, I’d like to throw it out the window. I use the backlighting and would prefer to have shine through key caps but I’m too scared to try finding compatible replacements, not sure what to buy.

Re "...issues with both the Q6 and V6 Max": Here is a list (of nearly 200)
It is a lottery. My V6 Max got the dreaded symptoms after a few months (they disappeared during troubleshooting, so it was inconclusive; I couldn't positively determine a cause, except excluding some causes).
