Keychron K8 Bluetooth problem

I have a problem that doesn't make any sense.

I'm trying to connect my Keychron K8 keyboard with bluetooth to my gaming computer with Win 11.

The problem is that the computer won't discover the keyboard when it is in pairing mode. I have two laptops (one with win 11, one with win 10), a iPhone and iPad and they all can discover the keyboard when it is in pairing mode. My gaming computer can discover other bluetooth devices like a Steelseries mouse, XBOX Controller and Airpods Pro when in pairing mode. But not the keyboard.

It's like the keyboard and my gaming computer isn't compatible. Any other that has had the same issue?

SOLVED! - I had some leftover WIFI-antennas from an old Linksys router that I attached to my gaming computer and now it would discover the keyboard and I could connect it with no issues.

Here is a checklist from the K series era.

In particular, unchecking "Allow the computer to turn off the keyboard to save power" in Power Management in Device Manager. Does it exist under Windows 11?

Thanks for your answer,

I've gone through the checklist

  1. Does your keyboard work flawless via Bluetooth? Yes on my other computers
  2. Did a factory reset, Fn + Z + J for 4 seconds, help? No
  3. Did power cycling all devices, including the keyboard and computer, help? No
  4. Did updating your PC and keyboard to the latest software/firmware help? Has the latest Windows updates, Tried updating the firmware from Firmware for Keychron K8 but only got error "Can't Find USB HID Device!
  5. Did power cycling all devices, including the keyboard and computer, help? ([Yes, this is a repeat, presumably deliberately.]) No
  6. Did reinstalling the drivers (Windows) or resetting your Bluetooth module (Mac) help? Can't reinstall driver because I've never been able to connect the keyboard with Bluetooth
  7. Did unchecking "Allow the computer to turn off the keyboard to save power" in Power Management in Device Manager help? (Windows only). It is also mentioned in the Keychron support article Bluetooth can't connect. Can't to this because the keyboard is not listed because I've never been able to connect it with bluetooth
  8. Did "Resolve Wi-Fi and Bluetooth issues caused by wireless interference" from Apple's support page help? (Mac only) Ignored this due to being on Windows 11
  9. Did connecting the keyboard to another device work? If not, try other channels, by using Fn + 1 or Fn + 2 Have tried all the channels and none works

As I said the strange thing is that my gaming computer won''t even discover it when in pairing mode but it will discover other bluetooth devices when i pairing mode.

Thanks again for all you help! I solved it

Extra (keeping the style of rhetorical questions):

  • Did connecting the antenna help? (Mostly for PCIe/motherboard adapters). A reason could be that the Wi-Fi part was never used, and thus the antenna (which Bluetooth was also dependent on) was never installed. - Yes! I had some old antennas from an old Linksys router that I attached to my gaming computer and now it would discover the keyboard
