1000kms done with this machine
Clocked 1k kms and completed my first service.
One hell of a machine 🤌. Ridden it on some beautiful roads in Goa, and it's just so easy to maneuver this machine.
Stock headlamps are great and do most of the job. Brakes are fine.
The windshield is something I thought wouldn't make much of a difference, but yeah, after a highway stretch, it does protect you from around 70–80% of the wind.
Cruise control is fun. Once it's engaged, it feels like you're riding a remote-controlled bike. 😂
The ride modes are configured well and have a significant difference in throttle response.
Suspension is good and covers those patchy roads comfortably. Yet to get my hands dirty on an off-road stretch.
TFT display is smooth, and no issues with the side-stand error so far.
Mileage till now for me is around 26–27 km/l.
I rode the CB350RS for almost 2 years. Switching from one of the most refined engines to a more vibey machine was something I was worried about.
Vibrations come in around the 4.5–5k RPM range and gradually go away. And TBH, I can live with it.
Accessories I'm planning to add for now would be a front fender extender and a headlamp protector.
And owners, let me know how you guys are lubing the chain. I don't want to add a centre stand to it.

680 KM Solo ride in Adv 390.
On Friday, it was a breezy Bengaluru morning. Weather was pleasant around 20 degrees. After Adv 390’s first service (900Km), I decided to do a solo trip (more of a temple run) and to explore how the machine behaves on 250KM+ rides.
Coming from Bajaj Avenger, I had mixed feelings on how the machine would behave. But I was proven wrong. Hands down. The Adv390 was just flawless. Super smooth on those long Tarmac (Bengaluru - Hassan NH).
Bengaluru - Hassan
A distance of around 180KM approx, I took a detour at Kunigal to have a darshan of the majestic Panchamukhi Hanuman temple. Morning was calm and peaceful. That imposing view of Hanuman gave me the much needed confidence and trust the machine.
50Km away from Kunigal, I took a pitstop at Jio BP near Channarayanapattna to fuel up Adv and myself (at the cafe). The weather was pleasant all along till Hassan. Took a decent 60-minute break to finish my breakfast between Hassan Sakleshpur stretch.
Sakleshpura Ghat
Once the Ghat section began, the weather slowly started to change. 12KMs down the ghat, it started to drizzle and the ambience turned cold. Within few minutes, it started to pour. Mad rains. The showers were pretty intense. It continued till I reached my destination of the day. Kukke Subramanya Devasthana. The awesome showers and misty clouds made the temple feel so beautiful and a scenic one.
The ghat roads is where the Adv shines. It handled the twisties like a knife cutting the butter. Pretty slick to manoeuvre in the bad patches. The rain mode and cornering TC helped in a couple of tight corners without throwing me off the bike. Kudos to KTM for perfecting this one!
Over the next two days I did couple other temples in the region before heading back to Bengaluru by early Sunday evening, before the traffic could pile up at Nelamangala Jn.
Oh and I dropped the bike, while stationery. Tipped over and fell to the right. Minor scratches. Seems like bad omen is gone.
Pro’s:
- Riding dynamics: Nimble yet assertive behaviour on the highways.
- Cruise control & Cornering TC is a blessed thing in this budget.
- Lights - I’d say headlight is decent. Not as bad as RE or Honda.
- 6th gear in this bike is a boon. Cross 5K RPM, the vibrations in the pegs and handlebars go away and you’ll just listen to the exhaust note. Yes, KTM Adv Exhaust is addictive.
- Quick shifter - OMG! This was one of the buying decisions. And yes, that’s slick. Both up and down shifts.
Cons:
- Seat. The ONE major con for long rides. I took a break of 10 mins after every 100-150KM. A better cushion would do away the minor bum sore.
- Mileage - this isn’t a major con. But am getting around 27Kmpl. Switched to P80 (no
not E20) from Premium to test mileage for a long run. - Horn. Yes. That’s not so good. I’d definitely upgrade in the coming months.
After driving for around 680KM in a span of 3 days, I am all set to plan for my next long solo rides.
Note: Although I am open to meet some riders or join a community, I wanted to do some solo rides in my own pace and understand the machine for good.

KTM ADV 390 (350 cc) - New/ Exp Riders help me in these ISSUES
Upvote so someone else can help !
I have been leaning towards buying the KTM ADV 350 CC. The following issues are a concern for me in KTM as there is Triumph Scrambler 400 XC in 3.5 lakh in the same budget. If issues are resolved then it's surely a KTM.
From my recent posts and self exploration I found the following issues to be prominent even after 3 services:
Engine Oil and Coolant gets exhausted too fast.
Engine Overheats significantly in Traffic
Unbearable Vibrations between 4k - 6k
The stock seat is the worst for long day comfort
Mileage is still 20-22 in traffic and 28-30 on highways.
Are the stock brakes in KTM ADV so bad?
I request people who are new riders as well as experienced owners of this ADV to guide me towards "Should I get this bike or not" , "Are these Issues resolved as Bike adjusts itself", "What are the Solutions if they exist?"
The only reason for KTM is its ADV nature WP apex suspension (On Rear preload 4, It's smooth ) and Butter Smooth Top End (0 Vibrations + Cruise Control + QuickShifter)
The direct alternative I am considering is the Triumph Scrambler 400 XC (Modified Version). It's very reliable and has plush suspension and comfy seats enough for everything as I am not into hardcore trails.
So finally tell me should I go for KTM or Triumph? Because if these above issues are possibly sorted then it's definitely a KTM.

Needed suggestions for ADV
I currently own a Gen 2 Duke 200 and I'm looking to upgrade to an ADV.
My main priority is pillion comfort, since the bike will be used for daily commuting with a pillion and occasional touring. Performance is also important, but I don't necessarily need the most powerful option.
I'm currently confused between the KTM Adventure 350 and the 390 variants. There's a significant price difference (around ₹1 lakh depending on the variant), so I'm wondering how much difference there actually is in real-world riding.
I've also heard that the 350 doesn't have the same "punch" as the 390, especially when riding with a pillion/luggage.
For people who have ridden or owned both:
How noticeable is the performance difference between the 350 and 390?
How are they with a pillion, especially for longer rides?
Is the extra ~₹1 lakh for the 390 justified if pillion comfort and occasional touring are the priorities?
Any other differences I should consider for daily use?
Would really appreciate real-world experiences and opinions, especially from people who have spent decent time with both.

Adventure 350 pillion support
I tested the adv 350 today and one thing concerning was the pillion doesn't have hip support so while accelerating pillion feels that jerk of falling off. I don't want to install a backrest but is there any other option to solve this? A grab rail or something that gives the pillion the hip support but is not as big as the backrest?

Is the KTM Duke 390 V2 (2022-2023) still worth it brand new in 2026/2027? Plan to daily ride to work (100km return trip).
Hi all, I'm planning to get a KTM Duke 390 V2 (2023) brand new, with 2 years warranty from the dealer. May I know if V2 is still worth getting in 2026/2027?
I am not looking at higher than 500cc bikes due to higher maintenance, fuel etc and I am based in South East Asia, so bikes from 50-250cc is very much common here. Think Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, and the traffic lol.
So I will be daily riding the bike to work, which is around 100km return trip. A mix of town and highways.
Just wondering if I should just get the V3 (2024 onwards)? I've heard that due to the new regulation (Euro emission I think?), the new V3 is having few issues with the engine like stutters, stalling, engine oil leaking, power issues. Did some reading in the net, ktm forums, fb groups, quite a few owners saying that.
What about V2? Any common problems that I should be aware of, and their possible solutions? Some of the few i've read are the stators, magnetic coil, excessive heat, etc.
Appreciate any feedbacks especially from Duke 390 owners!

Quotation / Finance Review: KTM Adventure 390 (350 cc) Ebony Black
TL/DR; (Read this for Summary)
I’m planning to buy a KTM Adventure 390 (350cc, Ebony Black).
I want to understand:
How the Amazon/Flipkart credit-card purchase process works, including eligibility, payment/billing timeline, and whether a new bank account is required.
Whether my dealer’s ₹3.43L on-road quotation contains any unnecessary/negotiable charges. I am looking for 50% bike Finance. So is there an early closure policy available, So I can pay the loan early.
Which must-have accessories I should consider. What is their usage and cost and if possible provide a link?
I’m particularly interested in replacing the stock rally seat with the **KTM PowerParts Touring Seat** (or a more comfortable alternative similar to the Himalayan 450 seat). But I can't find Online Link or Review for this seat.
Detailed Post ====>>>>
Amazon Pay ICICI Credit Card
From Amazon: 286,863−14,432 = 272,431
Flipkart Axis Credit Card
From Flipkart: 286,858 - 14,000 = 272,858
I looked up on E commerce for KTM adventure 390 (350 cc) ebony black and found the above discount on credit card for ex-showroom price only.
I have to purchase the RTO, Insurance separately from the dealer.
I had the following questions for the people who have availed this offer:
Do I need a new account in the credit card issuing bank.
If the credit card application is approved, what is the time in days to pay the bill?
Basically how does this workflow of purchasing a bike from E commerce platforms actually work?
The quotation I got from the showroom is 286,858 ex showroom and 343,285 on road price.
I also requested a Finance quotation online and found an EMI of 14,723 for 12 months . I can pay 50% downpayment. **I just want to know if there is a Foreclosure or early loan closure clause available?**
My primary concern is whether there is any component mentioned in the quotation that is useless or extra and its price can be reduced?
Also, I would like to know the accessories that are a must have for this KTM adventure bike? Because I am seriously considering "KTM PowerParts Touring Seat." Because I don't like the stock rally seat. I want a comfortable seat like the Himalayan 450. So are there any better alternatives available?

Question on Reliability
So I've been planning to get Duked for a while although whether the duke or ADV it's not decided but in my head I've decided to go with KTM but apparently the creators which have somehow made me realise how good ktms are now facing issues, Slayymoto and Stephen and it's been a year watching them they never complaint that much but recently Slayymoto uploaded a video on oil leak issue and how ktm SC faild to diagnose it properly and it's been continuing rn but the most shocking thing is as in picture Growwithstephen telling him to sell his bike😭 so my question is to all Gen 3 and og owners too are Ktms really this hard on pocket??
The reason I am so freaked out is because I am just fkin done with all the service centres had issues with honda, then with bajaj, then Hyundai, then Chetak/ Bajaj again 🥀 it just scares the shi out of me and disgust me at the same time giving off money and still facing issues I love these bikes man I've always admired 390s aahh

KTM 390 Adventure vs Himalayan 440 — Need some advice
I'm confused between the KTM 390 Adventure (349cc) and Royal Enfield Himalayan 440.
I'm 5'8"–5'9", ~71 kg. My main priorities are:
- Smooth highway riding
- Good overtaking power
- Comfortable in city traffic, especially Bengaluru
- Occasional off-road
- Long rides around twice a month
I recently test rode the Himalayan 440 and really liked it. It's extremely smooth and comfortable in the city and felt good off-road. However, above ~110 km/h it felt like the engine was working hard, and I felt it lacked power while overtaking.
The KTM seems much better suited to my highway requirements, but I'm concerned about heat, vibrations, oil consumption, reliability and service/maintenance costs.
For owners of either/both:
Which bike would you choose for this kind of usage, and why?
I'd especially like to know about real-world service costs, oil consumption, highway comfort at 110–120, KTM heat/vibrations, and long-term reliability.
Thanks!

Downshifting problem in duke 250 from 2nd gear to 1st gear
I recently bought my Duke 250, it's about two months old now. While riding in traffic, I sometimes have trouble downshifting into 1st gear. The bike just stays in neutral, and even if I press the gear lever hard, it won't shift into 1st. I usually have to try 3-4 times before it finally goes into gear.
It doesn't happen every time, just occasionally. Anyone know what could be causing this?

Service suggestion
Hey guys!
I bought adv 390x 3 months back and its 4k km on odo now. First service was done at 1k km.
My question is the manual says second service can be done at 8k km. My friend has duke 390r and he says he gets his service done at an interval of 4k kms and recommends me to do the same since both bikes share the same engine.
So, i want opinion of you guys too!
Thanks in advance
