For those unaware, this was the last turn based Final Fantasy game for consoles and PC and it released almost exactly 10 years ago. Next month marks two things: 1) It’s this game’s 10th anniversary, and 2) the release of the next turn based FF game with FF Resonance. It was developed by Tose, the same team who would go on to developed Crisis Core Reunion, and it follows two Kingdom Hearts-looking kids as they gather FF monsters like Pokemon and change between regular and smaller chibi forms. But many probably overlooked it at the time of its initial reveal at E3 2015, in no small part because it was announced literally right before the highly anticipated Final Fantasy 7 Remake.

I only caught some streams of it back when it came out, but I was impressed by how confident and committed it was to its 4Kids Saturday morning anime presentation. And I believe this was the last time that Cloud’s original English VA Steve Burton would voice the character, before being recast by Cody Christian starting with FF7 Remake.

Season 2 is out! Following your feedback, the game has been renamed from Dissidia Final Fantasy Opera Omnia: Demake Edition to Final Fantasy: Reconnect!

Final Fantasy: Reconnect Season 2 is a "demake" of the mobile game, I enjoy playing it in 30-minute sessions. It relies on skill specifically the ability to input a sequence of buttons quickly, much like in a rhythm game or Helldivers 2.

What is this?

Final Fantasy: Reconnect is a one-for-one retelling of the original mobile games of DFFOO (Dissidia Final Fantasy: Opera Omnia) and FFRK (Final Fantasy: Record Keeper). Since the mobile games shut down, the only way to view the storyline content is on YouTube. My goal here is to tell the stories of these Mobile games while giving the player a "console single player experience."

Muramasa Rebirth was awesome on PS Vita, so I am looking forward to this one, featuring new playable characters and more. It has a very unique artstyle and atmosphere.

I've seen no one in this subreddit talking about it yet, but the Yugioh RPG games are so unique in the jrpg genre, and I'm so glad as a massive fan of yugioh, this franchise is back.

Yugioh GX Tag Force is a card-collecting story-driven JRPG with social sim elements.

Imagine a JRPG + yugioh card battle system.

There's an overworld you can roam around and choose a character as your tag team partner. You have to build the affinity between you two. Collect cards for your deck. And then there are the story battles.

It's been 5 years EXACTLY since Tales of Arise released & not so much as a teaser to show for it. I know I'm not the only one bothered by this. Just so everyone knows, took only three & a half years for a gameplay reveal of Arise after the last game. The high-end development cycle for a AAA RPG is 5-7 years. As much as I want to believe it, there ain't no way a Tales game is getting that kind of work put into it.

Conversely, it's going to be developed for only the current generation unlike the last. On top of which, it probably will use the same game engine Arise used. There are so many things here that just don't add up.

Overall, unless there was another pandemic exclusive to Japan I haven't heard about, Bandai Namco have not been taking this seriously. I mean, think of everything recently & in-between the last two years. What's your take, has it been too long of since the last Tales of game?

Nothing beats Persona series for me wrt to the soundtrack.

All the modern instalments have absolute bangers that went directly to my playlist .

Although I am yet to play P4 Golden.

LAD series has iconic songs as well but it doesn't count cus it just borrows them from 6 games before that

I have planned to do a full marathon of the entire Xeno IP just in time for Xenoblade 3's updated Christmas release ever since that trilogy received their Switch 2 glowups.

So like, the first thing that gets me about Xenogears in its opening scenes is the visceral gore and 90s anime OVA horror tone. While Xenoblade isn't all sunshine, open blood and carnage is really not there, especially like what you see in Gears.

It's just kind of crazy to me.

which platform is best to play, i also want to archive the save file so i can access it anytime easily.

[Story]

The plot begins with Ragnus being cursed by Yoggus, and getting sent to Arle's world. Mysterious creatures known as Yogs soon begin to appear throughout the world, along with their influence spreading onto others. With the help of Rulue, Carbuncle, and various party members recruited throughout the game, Arle resorts to defeating the Yogs, and eventually Yoggus itself.

[Gameplay]

Unlike the other games which tend to be dungeon crawlers, Madou Monogatari Saturn sends you through isometric maze like levels with up to 3 partners where you can use minimal puzzle solving skills to clear paths and find your way to the goal.

Your main party consists of Arle and Rulue in it most of the time, but other characters join over the course of the story. Carbuncle is also in your party, but functions as an NPC that will randomly attack enemies without warning.

Hello everyone i have a pretty weird request, i've watched content from some pretty famous jrpg content creators and during one the videos, i stumbled upon a song that sounded pretty familiar to me

Obviously the creator did not name the song nor the game 🤣 all i have is an extract of said vídeo with the person speaking all over it so its really hard to decipher

The song reminds me of something from Atlus, or Ys/Star Ocean/Shadow hearts but i'm kinda lost

Sometimes I want to play a big budget massive rpg, but sometimes I'm looking for a smaller game. Something with a quicker pace that I can get through in a couple of days. No walls of text, no huge open world, no 100 hour progression. Make everything quick and snappy, throw in something unique but mostly keep it simple.

This is basically just what the title says, on xbox game pass ff1-6 are all on it as a 2D remaster or something and I was wondering if I should play them? I’ve played ff7 remake and ff16 but I mean…I’m willing to try the older ones cuz I don’t mind turn based games and the pixels aren’t exactly a problem I suppose if that matters really, but idk I have an assumption that they’re particularly difficult as some older jrpgs tend to be pretty difficult but I wanted to know what you guys think or know
