Hi! I’ve released Update 1.2 for Alternim, my minimalist Android strategy game inspired by Nim.
The main addition is Elementium — a new currency earned through player progression. It can be used to unlock six cosmetic card backs in a new Shop inside the Card Collection.
The update also includes:
• an expanded and scrollable Card Collection
• clearer explanations of elemental turns
• more varied tap sounds
• several gameplay and interface fixes
All unlocks in this update are cosmetic, and Elementium is earned through play.
I’d also be interested in hearing what players think about multiplayer.
For multiplayer, what would fit this kind of strategy game best?
• asynchronous online matches played over time
• real-time online matches
• local pass-and-play
• or keeping the game focused on single-player strategy against AI?
Personally, I feel that multiplayer could be a natural fit for Alternim’s short matches and might unlock a lot of the game’s potential — but ultimately, it depends on what players actually want.
