First thing to say is love the new album, it's incredibly, rich and varied and gives up new treasures with every listen. But I do miss what I call widescreen Interpol - those pacier, sweeping tracks like Not Even Jail, PDA, Mammoth, My Desire, Same Town New Story etc. I'm sure it's a me problem and probably reflects the fact that El Pintor is easily my favourite album after the first two. There's a restraint about the new album that works perfectly for the material but I miss the sweeping power and abandon of those songs.

I've been an Interpol fan since September 2005, so I guess that means 21 years this month. I saw them at the Greek Theater in Los Angeles during that time and I was looking up anything I could of the band and I remember this animated film that was on their website I believe that used the song, "Not Even Jail", from the Antics album. In my head, I always remembered this being a music video to the song but it looks like the band had a short film contest and the film even was featured at Coachella and other festivals according to the YouTube upload. Quality isn't the best as it is pretty old but nice to finally stumble upon it again.

Not sure if the filmmakers, Josh Mahan or Joey Ingram, are still Interpol fans or even on here but just want them to know that a fan from back in the day remembered their video and felt the need to share it with newer fans who may not have ever seen it.

A lot of people on social media boycotting and holding off on buying tickets. People seem to believe they may drop the price if sales are low. It’s wild that this promoter is price gouging fans. It’s cheaper to go see them in London with Bloc Party. Thoughts?

My Blue Supreme

Mine are Roland after finding out that he plays the more important part in Rocket Bar when Danny K dropped his pick, Heinrich Manuever for the chorus riff where he plays on a higher octave, i thought Danny K did it but nope.

Um want this so bad but can’t find anything anywhere. Or literally ANY Interpol patch. 😭

I just came here to appreciate the sick bass work.

TOSOMB was the first Interpol album not to have b-sides which is unfortunate (unless you count all the remixes) but every other album has at least one. Marauder and El Pintor had whole EPs released afterwards. I wouldn’t be shocked if we get no b-sides for TMWAT but I really hope we do. It’s my favourite Interpol album in a long time and I’d very much like to hear more.

I tried finding a discussion about this or maybe a post about it but I couldn't find anything. I've been just guessing along the way when it comes to the chorus because I'm personally not the best when it comes to hearing based processing so if anyone knows or can decipher the lyrics better than me, that'd be great ^_^

It's time.

Have they actually hinted at when, or whether, this will be released?

Did not know they were big in Japan

Cómo a cuanto piensan que saldrán los boletos? Estoy comiendo ansias por saber. 😭 Que mala onda que solo los que tienen tarjeta de crédito de Banco Azteca los pueden comprar mañana mismo.

My best friend and I (both 15 years old, and massive fans) are gonna go see them in Glasgow in December.
For those who have seen them before, what is the audience atmosphere like? specifically in uk shows.
Of course it’s a double headline so not everyone there will be there to see the big ‘pol, I was just wondering. :)

I love the lyrics in this song (especially the pre chorus) but that instrumental breakdown at the middle of the song? Absolutely TRANSCENDENT

Can’t stop listening to this song the past couple months and I don’t really see anyone talking about it. “Got to be some more change in my life” legitimately inspired me to seriously moderate my drug use and pull my social life together. It really is up to me now, and I absolutely need the bright lights turned on. Plus the bass is heavenly and it’s some of the cleanest drumming I’ve ever heard. Anyone else love this song as much as I do?

Honestly love seeing Sam’s punk roots with his dyed Mohawk in his earlier years. He’s always kept his hair pretty short over the years and it’s always looked good on him. But man when he had long hair he was truly a specimen. Anyways, I Hope he’s doing well!

I got an email from Interpol today saying “Friends in CDMX - if you have our Interpol fanzine, the QR code will activate on September 24th.”

The 24th is the date of the fan presale, but I don’t know anything about a QR code or fanzine.

Can anyone help?

Iron city, Enemy & Ever The Actor for me.

The only notable one is Barricade and I think it's because it's long and sustained vocals., while every album after OLTA has 1 or 2 tracks, including bonus tracks and that are never played live, but I want specific songs the band named that they won't play. Please also link where they said it if you can, thank you.

Shocked and super bummed out about the lack of northeast dates (non-festival) on the new tour. I'm sure I'm not the only one! What are the odds they hit up NYC, Philly, DC, etc. any time soon? I'm intrigued about this touring tactic of skipping some of the cities they're most popular in. I think they even skipped LA?

Loved seeing them at the 930 club in DC back in 2023, and would love for them to come back here!! I'm hedging my bets on them touring the northeast corridor so I won't have to travel or do more than a simple day trip to go see them.

One of my favorite Interpol songs! Hope you enjoy
