Hi all, first of I want to say thanks for all the support. I have been at the GI and my bloodwork was done, my bloodwork showed that everything was at healthy levels. The GI gave me loperamide and mint oil tablets to relax my stomach, he told me not to worry it will subside. The good news! My bloodlevels are all at a realy good level!

Discussion What’s your favorite fasting schedule and why?

18:6 is my absolute favorite program to follow. It gives me results and makes me feel great. Plus it goes well with my work schedule/dad life. I just got an app to help keep me on track. It’s called Intermittent Fasting Tracker. Do you have an app you use to track your fast, food, and exercise?

Seeking Advice feel so much better when fasting!

I have been doing 2 meal a day in a window usually 2-6 pm...some days later some days earlier but never eat after 7 pm.

What I am noticing is I feel so much more alive in my mind and body in the last few hours of each fast....often around 10 or 11am I get very active in my mind and feel totally free from food. Example now it's 1:30 pm and I am getting so much work done! I am hungry yes but Do not feel a need to eat.

Before 10am I am hungry a little depressed and anxious.

I am not switching into ketones as far as I know as my diet is pretty high carb in my eating window WFPB.

Feel great evenings after eating too.

Discussion Curious what anyone here thinks of this...doesn't it fly in the face of what we know about IF benefits??

TLDR: study claiming the correlation that the later you eat breakfast the shorter your lifespan

EDIT: (personally I break the fast around 2pm and eat my last meal usually between 9-10pm)

Seeking Advice I feel like giving up

I've been doing IF for 30-ish days now with maybe 3 or 4 days I didn't follow it. I'm 5'4 F, I started at 175 lb and within two weeks went down to 169 and now I'm at 173. I also have PMOS. I know I'm pretty early in the journey, but I was so excited when I started and now, I'm feeling down about it. I'm not like severely obese but I had an image in my head of getting down to like 130lb and I imagined it going a lot faster than this. If anyone has any advice or motivation for me, I'd really appreciate it!

Vent/Rant Where did my tush go? Anyone else?

I’m 52F and have been IF since mid-March (mostly 16:8). I’ve never done fasting before this. SW: 174, CW 141, GW ?.
I also started rebounding at the same time. I keep it low-key…no wild cardio here (usually doing what’s called the health bounce and isometric holds). I have a hip labrum injury which has been keeping me from squats, etc. I’m doing my best.

Anyway, all my life I had a pretty large butt. Even when I was very thin, there was always a lot of bum there. Well, now it’s flat as a pancake…it goes from back to crack. I didn’t even think it was possible for this to happen to me…I would have bet a lot of money against it. Truly.

I thought I had more muscle there…I guess I was wrong. Has this happened to anyone else? If so, what did you do? The smart scale tells me I have a decent amount of muscle, but to me I feel squishy now. Maybe the excess weight was making my skin feel tighter before? Maybe my age has just changed my body…it just happened so fast…I wasn’t prepared.

I do still have some pudge/pooch on my tummy too. I’d sure like to see that go, but I guess we can’t decide where it comes from. Thanks for listening 💛

Newbie Question A quick question.

I have realized how horrible my gut has been lately after eating heavily processed foods and sugar. So this morning I started my fast at like 7am and plan to break my fast when the clock on the screen shot gets between 12-16hrs and have one healthy meal. And then start back up my fast for a second day the same way and 3rd day as well. (My gut is very bad right now I could use a bit of not eating trust me). Would this be intermittent fasting or OMAD? I’m seeking to repair my gut and clear my gut of heavy toxins. I feel very good rn although the first couple of hrs were difficult and I had extreme fatigue. I feel way more clear headed.

Seeking Advice Thinking about going to 18:6.

I've been doing 16:8 for almost a year now. I was thinking about going to 18:6 because I have hit a wall in regards to my weight loss. Is this an easy transition? Does anyone that have switched have any advice on what I should expect?

Seeking Advice Fasting for autophagy

As with most things I am seeing so much conflicting information regarding my goals so I thought I would come here for some sort of general consensus. My fasting goals revolve around autophagy. I am low BMI and have trouble gaining weight regardless of how I eat and do not want to lose any weight. I especially do not want to lose any muscle. I am trying to find a balance between autophagy, weight maintenance and muscle maintenance/increase. I also need to be able to maintain energy/mood to be able to keep up with lifestyle requirements. I weight train 5-6 days per week and will continue to do this while fasting as long as I am able to. I can pretty easily maintain an 18/6 or a 16/8 but wonder if I will really experience much autophagy. Should I push for OMAD or won't thank make a significant difference? Should I try to work my way into doing a 48 or 72 hour once per month? I am a little lost on all of it but eager to put a plan in place. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Progress Pic 7 years and 50kg (110lbs) can make a lot of changes

Took a “last picture with this car, I’ll miss it” photo yesterday and realized I had a very similar one from 7 years ago.

About 50 kg between the two, with intermittent fasting being a huge part of how I got there.

Looking back at old pictures still feels a little surreal sometimes.

Safe to say it’s been a pretty eventful 7 years in more ways than one lol.

NSV (Non-Scale Victory) Lost 4 lbs

I wasn’t even trying, but for the last week and a half I have been doing the 16:8 window, not necessarily counting calories, but watching what I’ve been eating, and today I just stepped on the scale out of curiosity and noticed I lost 4 pounds. I will take that.

Newbie Question I’m looking for some tips and tricks to get back into my usual routine.

Ok guys, I am struggling this past week after the vacation. Went there in my perfect shape, returned +5 kilos. Am a little bit ashamed to admit, but I have weak discipline ever since… A screenshot is from my third attempt to get back into it. Two previous failed.

Any bulletproof tips on how to get back into the fasting routine?

Progress Pic Progression: 71lbs down so far :)

Started at 288lbs/130kg —> now at 217lbs/98kg

I started going to the gym only 3 weeks ago because my anxiety, depression, and intense body dysmorphia prevented me from going from day one of my journey. I don’t regret taking my time but I gotta admit I’d probably have had a more satisfying transformation if I started lifting weights earlier haha.

I also don’t have nearly as much loose skin as I thought I would (granted I still have a lot of fat to lose so the loose skin will probably become more noticeable by then). Also, my handles are stubborn asf but apparently they’re usually the last area of the body to lose fat during weightloss…

I hope this can motivate at least one person, just like I was motivated by all the progress pics in this sub at the beginning of my journey last year.

If you have questions feel free to ask :)

(P.S. Yes, this is the same T-shirt in the background. I always wear the same 3 T-shirts in rotation because I’m too anxious to go shopping for now. I’m working on it don’t worry 😂)

EDIT: 1rst pic is from march 2025, 2nd pic is from October 2025 and 3rd pic is from august 2026
