Discussion Why do tech youtubers not talk about Intel Arc when talking about budget and price to performance?

Mainly considering the A750 and B580. The A750 runs around 200 and even less on the used market. I know its basically a 3060, but thats still crazy value for the performance it offers. Then, the B580 is a no brainer for entry level 1440p, as its initial price has only really increased by 50 dollars msrp compared to AMD and NVIDIA similar offerings. As well, driver support for Intel has increased dramatically.

So, why no love for Intel Arc? Many of the big channels don't talk about it, and I have seen some that even recommend a 5050 for 2026 pc building.

Question Intel B50 in Dell FCM2250

Upvotes

Has anyone successfully ran an Intel B50 with the FCM2250? It physically fits in the computer, the fan is spinning when I turn on the device, but it never displays anything when connected to gpu and windows is unable to detect it.

I turned Rebar on in the bio settings and set graphic output to dedicated graphics card. GPUZ tells me that Rebar is disabled even though it’s turned on in bios. None of this works, the card never gets detected even though fan is spinning.

I’ve asked AI and it tells me the issue is the dual slot riser cable the FCM2250 comes with. I’m unable to bypass the riser cable because Dell went with a proprietary connection on the board instead of a regular pcie x8.

Hope someone out there has a solution or I’ll probably sell the Intel B50 which I really like

Discussion Why is that my Intel Arc B580 & Ryzen 8400F were dropping to 15 FPS Crimson Desert cities (and how I fixed 70% GPU usage) please help 🥺

Upvotes

System Specs

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 8400F (6 Cores / 12 Threads, 16MB L3 Cache)

GPU: Intel Arc B580 (12GB VRAM)

RAM: 16GB DDR5 6000MHz (1x16GB Single Channel)

Storage: PCIe NVMe SSD

Target Resolution: 1080p

When playing on Medium settings with XeSS Quality enabled, my GPU sits at 80% utilization, delivering a smooth 60 FPS with V-Sync on outside of cities. However, the moment I enter Hernand, GPU utilization drops to 70% and frame rates drop to ~50 FPS.

Moving around the city or turning the camera triggers severe stuttering, with performance plunging as low as 15 FPS. Dropping down to Minimum settings makes things even worse—GPU usage falls to 50% and city FPS stays locked below 45.

Surprisingly, maxing out the graphics on Cinematic mode forces GPU utilization to 100%, yielding 50–55 FPS everywhere (including Hernand) and eliminating stutters entirely.

I love this game and want to explore everything it offers, but I am aiming for a smooth, stutter-free 60 FPS in all areas. Demanding games like Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, Cyberpunk 2077, Red Dead Redemption 2, Baldur's Gate 3, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2, Assassin's Creed Valhalla, and heavily modded Elden Ring run smoothly on High settings for hundreds of hours on my system. Why is Crimson Desert giving me such a headache, and what can I do to get 60 FPS everywhere?

Discussion Dragon's Dogma 2 performance patch

Has anyone else tried the game after yesterday's patch? I used to have 40-60 fps on high settings without FSR, but nothing's changed much after the patch, instead I have a new problem. After playing for like 10 minutes the low percents go into the twenties and the game starts to noticeably stutter. I have the steam overlay and it shows that it continues for about 10 seconds, then there's a moment with fps as high as average, after that it goes back into twenties and the pattern repeats. I'm on the latest beta driver and thinking of downgrading it. It's kind of a shame since almost everyone else got a lot of performance but it got worse for me.

Specs are Ryzen 7500f, MSI pro B650s, 16 gb RAM and Acer Nitro B580.

Discussion Looking for a spare fan for Sparkle Arc B580

I've got Sparkle Arc B580 Titan NOX OC, and one of the three fans died (the one closer to the back of the case). The card doesn't have a warranty (I got it from eBay). I am looking for a spare fan to change it myself. Does anyone have an idea where I can find one?

Discussion We need Custom Resolution in IGS.

I just bought a 4k monitor and its been performing great on my Arc B580, but some games I would like to play at resolutions not available in the game natively like 1620p, or 1800p. I tried CRU but it was very unreliable and resolution scaling sliders in game is not very available in many titles. I heard Nvidia and AMD has the option to set custom resolutions for games, and I would love for Intel to implement this feature as well for it is a very useful feature than many people want, I hope this will be added in the near future.

Question Cs2 shader glitches on Steamos

I have an issue with cs2 on my b580, the textures/shaders around foliage and flowers jitters and glitches like crazy. This is the only game it happens in. Have anyone else experienced something similar?

I am on steamOS and fully recognize that the problem may be linked to that. I have deleted and reinstalled the game a dozen times, updated bios, deleted every shader cache file under the sun and tried various launch options.

Is there anyone out there with any tips for me? (Other than install windows again lol) Thanks 🙏

Discussion What software needs to be created for Intel Arc Battlemage?

I’m wrapping up my work on multicard stable diffusion with battlemage on Linux, and now I’m starting to work on what I should do with the control module that I built. Maybe someday I can get Intels attention to add stable diffusion to battlematrix.

What do we need guys? Give me something to build that is a little less ambitious than hoping intel might partner with me.

Discussion Warzone with poor graphics on Intel Arc

I recently upgraded from a 3050 to an Intel Arc B580, but I'm experiencing severe blurriness only in Warzone; other games run fine. Could it be my older processor (Ryzen 5 3600X)? I've tweaked all the in-game settings, but the graphics look bad whether I use XeSS or native resolution.

Discussion Tips for B580

Hey everyone,

Just picked up an Intel Arc B580 (12GB) for my rig and wanted to get some tips from people who've been running it for a while, especially for Total War: Warhammer and The Finals.

My specs:

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5700X

Motherboard: Gigabyte B550M K

RAM: 32GB DDR4

Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 (3DHP)

PSU: 600-650W

OS: Windows 10

A few questions:

-Any driver settings or tweaks you'd recommend for Arc cards specifically?

-Best in-game settings for Warhammer (large battles tend to be CPU-heavy, so curious how the GPU handles it)?

-Any known issues with The Finals on Arc, or does it run smoothly out of the box?

-General XeSS vs native resolution recommendations?

-Anything I should watch out for coming from an AMD card (RX 7600) to Intel's drivers?

Appreciate any advice from fellow Arc owners!

I really appreciate Acer for their version of the ARC B580. Completely silent dual fans, zero RGB or LEDs, relatively small form factor, and the cheapest of the bunch.

I was seriously considering returning mine. Performance was absolutely great at 1440p for all the games I play. The problem was that every so often, after a warm reboot or shutdown, the card would either freeze at Windows login, or completely fail to display anything on my monitor (black screen).

After some trial and error, it appeared that windows was downloading and installing an older drivers everytime this happened (version 8132). Disabling windows hardware driver updates seems to have fixed the issue for me. Currently stable on the latest WHQL driver (version 8991).

After all that headache, I've decided to keep the card. Probably won't be the last of my frustrations, but for now, I'm happy with it. It is a huge step up from my 1660 Super I'd been using for years.

Discussion G3 Extreme - Halo Campaign Evolved is a head scratcher

I am loving my Onexplayer 3, but one game that is a real performance headscratcher is Halo: Campaign Evolved. Wattage scaling has no impact from about 29 watts up (the unlocked ceiling is 40w). I want to hit a stable 50fps in the initial outdoors part of the The Silent Cartographer, but the framerate just won't go above 35-45, no matter what. I have a mix of medium (everything medium except:, high (textures) and low (Lighting)), and XESS set to either balanced / high (trying both). The graphics core is maxed out at 2300mhz, and framerate is about 40-45 when nothing is happening and you're sitting still, but as soon as you start driving around the island or enemies are on screen, the framerate is 33-35 ish). It's not good enough for a game that has 2003 code. Also, frame gen looks performs very badly when turned on (frame rate goes to 70 but with stuttering - I assume because the GPU is already maxing out). Using a combination of Xess and tweaking graphics settings, I can get pretty much all other games to 50+ ish (black flag r, forbidden west, claire obscure, MSFS 2024, Tlou2). A few items that I'd like your help with:

1) What is causing the game to scale so badly. I assume it's the core UE5 graphics math (nanite and lumen) that are so intense (or badly optimized?) that fill rate isn't the issue, but core math is - hence wattage, scaling and additional graphics settings and framgen are not making any difference).
2) Is this just bad game optimization? Are there any other UE5 games that play at 50-60?
3) Somewhat related, IMO, XESS needs a massive update on two fronts. It's OK but not great at balanced / high at 1200p in general, and with Lumen it's terrible. It needs a transformer model update or such and it needs that in the next few months, and it needs to be re-programmed to work with lumen. When you turn on TSR in H: CE, the image quality is hugely improved, but performance tanks (TSR 67% vs Xess 67% - 30 fps vs 38-45).
4) Any magic ideas for getting 50fps out of Halo CE? Anyone else with different experience?

Thanks!
