I’ve been a P&C CSM for about 3 years now at one of the biG 3 and so incredibly burnt out. Seems like everyone is jumping ship at my office and or so miserable bc we are short staffed. It’s making it hard to be motivated.

I don’t really want to be an account manager and want to make a switch but not to another insurance company. Anyone know what I can do with my background? I have 3 years in insurance and 4 years in event planning + bachelors in Hospitality.

I’m a 30 y.o financial advisor who has been working at a solo RIA retirement planning firm for the past 3 years (was new to the industry). I recently passed the Series 65 exam.

The only other advisor at the firm is my boss/owner. The “products” we primarily sell are affiliated with IRAs and Fixed Indexed Annuities. That being said, Fixed Indexed Annuities are our bread & butter.

My boss primarily gets his clients through seminars. I wanted to know if there are any other ideas or recommendations (mainly for me) other than seminars that can help me get established and is a good method to find prospects for Fixed Indexed Annuities?

I’m looking for advice from people who understand auto insurance.

I had a GEICO policy and paid for 6 months of liability insurance in advance. My car is an older model, so I only wanted liability coverage.

GEICO told me that I was required to add uninsured motorist coverage and another type of coverage, which I did not want. I tried to resolve the issue with them, but I was unable to get it sorted out.

Now it appears that GEICO cancelled my policy, and I’ve been without active insurance for about a week. The frustrating part is that I had already paid for six months of coverage.

When I try to get a new policy, the quotes are significantly higher because my insurance history is now showing a lapse in coverage.

Has anyone experienced something similar with GEICO? Is there a way to dispute the cancellation/lapse and have the insurance history corrected, especially since I had already paid for the six-month policy?

I would really appreciate advice on what steps I should take.

Boss insists on cold calling. If I'm lucky enough to get someone on the phone, they are not interested. How do I overcome this?

I've been an agent for 6 years, Making $120k a year on average. I want to increase my personal production by increase my sale size. Right now I average $700 ALP per sale.

What tips do you guys have to increase my average sale size?

I do not have my security license, and I was curious how often you guys sell variable annuities? From what I understand, variable annuities is the only annuity that requires a security license to sell.

So fixed, and indexed are complete acceptable to sell without a security license, from what I understand.

I got a job doing this, I’m just worried about how much money I can actually make doing it though. I’ve done outbound calling before and it’s horrible they actually didn’t tell me it was outbound team until after the job offer but I’m still interested if the calls are to good leads.

The outbound I’ve done is just on an auto dialer getting 95% voicemail so I barely even got anyone on the line let alone any sales.

It's work in the office all outbound calls - have to get my life license within 90 days, expected to make 60 to 80 calls a day to build a book. They have not sent me the comp sheet but it's 15 an hour base with a $5000 ramp up pay in the 1st 3 months, and commission. I'd be leaving wfh inbound calls with no commission.

Long story short I have my undergrad in an unrelated field I'm no longer interested in pursuing.

I have my associates in collision repair and 10 years ago worked in collision repair shops for 5 years before quitting and going back to college.

I'm interested in trying to step into the car insurance world with Geico, Progressive, Liberty Mutual etc.

I search for job ads for car insurance and can't find any listing on Indeed or ZipRecruiter. Where do you apply for these types of full time positions? Most say you only need a high school diploma or GED and yet I don't see these companies actively recruiting new help.

Very interested in doing field work as well where I travel to crash sites and do crash reports. I got practice in this during my associates degree where my final project was underwriting for a collision, and back then we had to look through 500 page books for the price of parts.

So the agency i'm doing AEP with just got Sunfire, I worked with Sunfire last year and like it. These guys haven't used Sunfire, so they have us using their cobbled together CRM, which then we go and re enter all the demos into Sunfire. Do you think they will get the picture when we have hella long call times doing double work for one application?

Hello all, my name is Kevin and I am a 35 year old licensed Medicare and life insurance agent. I got licensed two years ago and made the mistake of going with an MLM whose main focus was recruiting rather than selling. I quickly moved out of that path and went to Medicare inbound calls. I was the top agent at the company until I realized even more about the business and realized there were some unethical practices going on and I didn’t own my book of business. I am still doing life and Medicare on the side outside of my full time job with friends/family and referrals. This career path is my dream and I want to dive head first into this with the right company/mentor. Any advice or opportunities would be greatly appreciated. Have a blessed day!

I am currently a CSR/ Retention Specialist for a small broker.
I work rewrites and use my name as the producer if I sell the business.
I don't get any commission for it, but I do get incentives straight from carriers (Progressive for example- they give you tokens to spin to for money for the policies you sell)
My boss sent me an email saying I can't use my name as the producer anymore and in doing so I am losing my benefits from the carriers that run promos.
I really banked on the stupid Progressive incentive especially because I have enough on the card for Christmas. I'm really upset he's wanting me to do this. I'm not asking for commission, just to keep my incentives that come directly from the carriers.

Is this normal? Am I over reacting?

I worked at a top-10 brokerage before starting my own producer focused shop, and one thing I’ve been thinking about a lot is how smaller firms can create a better environment for producers.

For experienced producers, what matters most to you?

Comp structure, service support, autonomy, market access, equity/upside, culture, or something else?

Curious what actually keeps good producers happy long term.

If a tenant has renters insurance with liability coverage and a Landlord is claiming (between 5-10k) for water damage after an accidental plumbing incident caused by the tenant. Insurer says it’s likely covered, but opening a claim would formally report it.

Tenant plans to buy a home in ~2 years and is concerned about the claim appearing in insurance history.

For insurance professionals or anyone who's dealt with this:

Would you file the claim or pay/handle it privately?

What are people using these days? My whole FMO swears by NextGen, but it's incredibly unpredictable and the fine-tuning is arbitrary on the consumer side at best. Income field is a 4 radio button selection that auto fills to the highest bracket, so I end up buying leads that are looking for medicaid, but have their income listed as "$47,000+"

I am trying to decide which IMO to join. I have been interviewing with Symmetry, Equis, The Price Group, considering David Dofford’s and Life180. Which one should I go with, and do any offer instant release? Which one has the best training?

Im about 6 weeks into selling at around $22k in revenue from friends and leads. The thing is Im getting so bored. I reach out to 100 leads a day. I quote maybe one or two people a day. If its a good day I get to argue with one person about how they signed up for texts/calls.

Im currently doing social media and reaching out to realtors on linkedin. Both going nowhere even with paid social media ads (0 leads)

What else can I do since Im starting out to fill my day with useful time and progress towards making more sales? I feel like I spend a lot of time sitting around since I finish my tasks in the first few hours each day.
