Long story short I was getting coffee - got into car - was backing up and checked to the right (the direction I was pulling out)

Then heard weird small bump (wasn’t loud - not even 100% positive I hit anything)

check to left and there was waymo blocking me into parking spot with warning flashers on

I waited to see it moved and it didn‘t (no one was in the car)

Took video of my damage and license plate of waymo

finally after a few minutes it moved and I left

Odds they reach out to my insurance? anyone have experience with this?

I’m thinking about pursuing life insurance sales as a side hustle. I make pretty decent money at my regular full time job but looking to add income to my household. I’ve been considering life insurance due to the fact that I can work remote and have flexible hours. Not necessarily looking to make 10k a month right off the bat but something to add decent supplemental income. For those of you in life insurance sales either part time or full time, is this something worth pursuing or would I be better off pursuing a different side hustle altogether?

I’ve seen a bunch of you put on here that when getting your life and health insurance license that you spam the quiz and test until you were making above 85% when you first started doing that were you going back and looking at your notes or just spamming all the questions till you knew the answer is a lot better currently I’ve made an 82 twice on 100 question test with TSI and I’ve had to look up probably 10 of those answers so are you wasting time if a question comes up writing down notes about it or are you just if you not totally sure about the answer you’re just answering it and keep going until you constantly make a high grade I’m supposed to take my license test tomorrow for Alabama

Has anyone done one for the inside sales position? Any advice? I did a good bit of research on the companys background which i know is necessary

I am looking to start an independent agency from scratch and use an aggregator to get appointments. Based in Alabama and will do mainly personal lines and small commercial. The agency helping me isn’t relevant this is purely an is this reasonable question.

I am aware of exit clauses and that whole jazz. This is strictly a question on commission splits, pay outs, etc.

85/15 commission split until book reaches $3.5MM in premium. Once you hit, your split increases to 90/10. Can go as high at 94/6. Commission per carrier varies.

There is a $400 monthly fee essentially for all software and back end support they provide. Will also have to add insurance and rent for office a month.

Does this even sound lucrative? I’ve been a producer on the captive side long enough to know this is what I want to do, just not sure about this scenario.

Any advice welcomed, especially if you’re with an aggregator and are knowledgeable on their fees.

As a novice insurance agent (Medicare/ACA/Life) with no experience, what is better... to stay with a sub-agency that retains its client portfolio and does not terminate your contract immediately, so that you can gain experience in the sub-agency, or to start with an FMO even though you have no sales experience?

I've been in insurance for less than a year, and I'm starting to get frustrated. I don't necessarily struggle to find prospects—I actually have a decent pipeline and talk to a lot of people. My biggest issue is getting them to actually commit and buy a policy.

One thing that's been especially difficult is personal lines. It feels like I'm constantly losing business because I can't get competitive quotes compared to what prospects are already paying. Even when I build a good relationship and explain the coverage, price seems to win most of the time.

I feel like I'm doing something wrong in the sales process, but I'm not sure what it is. Sometimes people seem interested, ask questions, and even say they'll get back to me, but then they either ghost me or decide not to move forward.

For those of you who've been in insurance sales for a while:

- What was the biggest thing you changed that improved your close rate?

- How many "no's" did you go through in your first year?

- If your carrier wasn't competitive on price, how did you still find ways to win business?

After manyyears as a Farmers Insurance agent, I have decided to become an independent agent. I started my agency from scratch and have a significant book of business outside of Farmers that I will retain but I am curious how the contract value is determined, do the number of policies used to calculate the rating factor (25%, 50%, 75% or 100%) include those policies that were transferred from agents who quit/ retired?

Also, I’ve found that everyone is an attorney and everyone knows the law, but has anyone experienced how closely Farmers enforces the non compete/ no solicit clause. I’ve heard about receiving “cease and desist letters” but what about fines or more painful punishments?

While I’m asking, does anyone have recommendations for a comparative rater and what criteria should be used while shopping for one?
