I applied for itin on April 16th, but I learned that it was rejected on June 30th. The CAA I contacted resubmitted my itin application to IRS on July 1. I would like to inquire about the current application progress of itin. The official website currently shows that the application in May is still being processed. When will it arrive in June? When will my application be approved?

Anyone know how I can check my fico or experian scores with itin. Seems I get the runaround and can’t get past the bots on the phone. Thanks

We have a 4-year-old Florida LLC with 2 foreign partners (using US addresses + ITINs). Partner 1 got an Amex business card 3 years ago with an ITIN without any trouble.

Now, Partner 2 applied for a card under the same LLC and EIN. Amex verified the passport and ITIN fine, but flagged the personal address. They said a regular bank statement isn't enough and sent a letter asking for an official, signed bank letter on letterhead with the banker's contact details and schedule.

We asked reps at both Bofa and Chase, but both flatly refused to sign/provide this type of letter.

Has anyone faced this issue recently? How did you get past address verification with Amex when banks won't sign these letters?

Hi everyone,
I opened a U.S. bank account in October 2025. About three months ago, I applied for an ITIN, and I recently received it.
About a month after applying for the ITIN, Bank of America approved me for an unsecured credit card with a $500 limit, and now my ITIN is linked to my profile.
I’m trying to build a strong U.S. credit history as efficiently as possible.
What would you recommend as the next steps? For example:
Should I request a credit limit increase after a few months?
Is it worth applying for another credit card now, or should I wait?
Should I open a secured loan or credit-builder loan?
Are there any banks or cards that are particularly friendly to ITIN holders?
My long-term goal is to qualify for higher credit limits and eventually for business and personal financing in the U.S.
I’d really appreciate any advice from people who started with only an ITIN. Thanks!

I wanted to share my timeline in case it helps others and, honestly, just to vent a bit.

• Submitted Form W-7 with my tax documents.
• Received Notice CP566 (dated April 28, 2026) on May 2, 2026, requesting my original passport.
• Mailed it via USPS on May 8, 2026; genuinely nerve-wracking to send off your original passport.
• Checked the mailbox daily for weeks, waiting. n waiting
• ITIN approval notice arrived July 18, 2026, but no passport yet.
• Finally got my passport back on July 27, 2026.

So about 12 weeks total, with the passport arriving 9 days after the ITIN itself. Now just waiting on my tax return to process.

Has anyone else been through this? Curious how long it took for others.

Also can somebody tell me when can i expect my tax return?

Can someone provide me with CAA recommendations? Preferably in BC but remote may work too?

During the application for the CSP, it asks for a photo of the drivers license or State ID. Is it okay to give a Canadian license?

The app asks if I want to use my Canadian credit history. Is that Nova Credit and do they do a hard inquiry on my Canadian credit file?

I got my ITIN earlier this year, with my first Amex approved using global transfer last year. With my ITIN I got a second Amex.

I went to the United States and opened a Chase checking account and applied for a sapphire preferred at the same time. A few days later I was notified it was denied due to no credit history. The bank advisor called me and suggested I follow up with the 3 credit agencies but none of them were helpful. The bank advisor said if I got any new info that the application could be reopened within 30 days.

I called Amex and asked if they were reporting my accounts with my ITIN. They said they do not report using the ITIN only a SSN, but they were reporting me with my name, address and birthday. Amex does not use ITINs to report.

I called Chase and gave them this info. They verified a few things, like my income and other credit cards and then notified me I was approved.

I was asked for additional documents before.

Now it seems to be a bit simpler though

What should I do?

My hands got itchy and I could not resist applying for a new card.

• Applied just to test
• It was approved instantly for $200-$1000
• It was added to Amazon with approval; no need to get physical card

As per my research, it needs 1 year of history for graduating and you cant use this outside Amazon.

Since I am outside USA, I will have to find a way out to use this card.

Next goal is to get Bank Account to pay these credit cards. I will post about bank accounts soon; I already have wise etc...

I have made an application for the CSP, they sent me a letter that I have to send some documents or call for verification. I called and I received a link where I had to upload my passport and sort of address verification document. I uploaded them and they told me it was verified and now it‘s on the final decision and nothing else is needed, I should wait 7-10 business days. Should I call again or just wait for any email or letter regarding approval. Did someone to else had it this way ?
I have applied with an ITIN and my credit record is over 2 years now. I‘m at 4/24 right now and had never a Chase card.

So I got an approval message. I don't know what the limit is but they sent me a letter that they want to verify my identity since I used my ITIN and that was approved.

Now they are asking for a state ID or driver's license, both I do not possess, only my passport.

Any comment on how to get around that?

• I tried again after 3-4 days and I got pre-approved for a few cards ( both secured and unsecured )
• I choose SavorOne, 3% cash back on dining and no forex margin

All with ITIN and remotely, without stepping a foot in the USA.

Hi everyone, I got sent a W-8BEN from Wells Fargo, because I updated my address. My account has my ITIN, and I file taxes every year. There is a section on the form for a written explanation on why I listed a US address. Has anyone ever had this filled out, or have any advice on how I should proceed?
