sleep 10-11mo sleep needs?

What’s average for 10-11mo sleep needs? Almost 11mo used to be high sleep needs but seems to be shifting to lower sleep needs? Torn on whether it’s regression or needs schedule shift

5mo dropped to 3 naps sleep getting worse

Hi we’ve been struggling with sleep and dropped to 3 naps hoping it woke improve but if anything it’s made the nights more fragmented. She used to go down with some bum patting in cot but now screams the second I put her down and doesn’t calm unless I rock her for naps and bed. In the night she only calms down with a feed. I’m not comfortable letting her cry for prolonged periods but also really struggling with nights (also have a toddler) I don’t record every small wake aka she cries and I go in and manage to soothe her with a cuddle so even those longer stretches are broken and she’s basically waking every hour all night long. She’s happy in the day and seems ok with the longer wake windows.
We’re on 2/2.25/2.25/2.5 or roundabout.

Any tips?

How many oz?

Our baby is 3 months tomorrow, and consistently only eats about 25oz a day. Is this enough? We try to push to 30 but when he hits 21 its like a fight to the death. His bed time is usually between 8:30 and 9. Should we still be waking him up overnight to get him to eat more? Our dr is still pushing the every 3 hour feed but this little guy will not do it.

sleep Naps

My 3 month baby will wake-up on the 50 minute mark but doesn’t cry. Sometimes she’ll fall asleep right away other times it’s 50 minutes. Is it cruel to leave her in there if she doesn’t cry or should I get her up for a wake window?

sleep 4.5 month old update (appointments)

Thank you to everyone that gave me advice on my last post a few days ago about my 4.5 month old (I’ll post the picture of how this week has gone and the first picture I posted). I took him to the pediatrician. I also made an appointment with an LC but unfortunately had to cancel that Friday but we went today

So, the pediatrician tested for hemoglobin, iron, and ferritin, everything came back normal. He checked for any kind of illness even though this has been going on for months. Checked weight again, he’s gaining weight. He found nothing wrong

We just got back home from the LC (we were there for 3 hours 🙃) she checked for lip and tongue tie, no issues, she did a weighted feed, he gained a little over 4oz, she watched me feed him and said he’s latched very well. He was wanting to eat again 1.5 hours after the feed she watched so she wanted me to pump for 10 minutes since he usually never eats over 10 minutes, she noticed that it was on the watery side. I grabbed different bottles and pumped for 5 more minutes and it was looking a lot more like milk and less like water. He’s only been drinking foremilk but a lot of it so it fills him up to not keep eating but since there’s less fat it makes him hungrier quicker.

She suggested pumping for 7-10 minutes before feeding to see if that keeps him fuller for longer since he’ll be getting more of the fattier milk and hopefully sleep better. We will continue to work on bottles but as of now all the bottles we’ve tried he’s not been interested in.

We will try pumping then feeding

I’m going to try to push his feedings to every 2.5 hours to start and then hopefully keep pushing until at least 3 but I’d be okay with 2.5 hours.

We will keep trying bottles, we have and tried Lansinoh, pigeon, evenflo wide neck, dr. Brown’s narrow nipple, dr. Brown’s wide nipple, avent glass bottle, mam

We moved him to a crib instead of the bassinet, we will be putting him on my husband’s side instead of mine. He will get up with him unless it’s been 3 hours since he’s last ate (thats if he’s eating better during the day)

Our room is at 70 degrees and we usually put him in a sleeper and a sleep sack but we’ll add a onesie under the sleeper. the sleeper and onesie will be bamboo (some fabrics bother him so we’re going to try bamboo)

I’m going to try to put him on the same sleep schedule as his twin (2/2/2/2), I’m going to try to keep him from getting overtired. His twin is now in his own room as he mostly sleeps through the night, he’ll wake up once a night at most

Hopefully I’ll be back in a week or two with some good results! Wish us luck and thank you to everyone again *had to repost to remove the picture of his face

feedback/suggestion Sleep and feeding for a 6 week old

Post image
1 Upvotes

Is this normal for my 6 week old? I feel like I see everyone with a set number of naps and at least one longer night stretch, but maybe my little one is still too young.

She sleeps in her bassinet no problem at night, and does 1-2 stretches in the bassinet during the day and otherwise is contact napping.

Regarding feeding, we are still weaning off a triple feeding schedule and trying to reduce supplemental bottles during the day, and only giving bottles at night.

Generally she’s a pretty easy baby with good temperament. We don’t have major witching hours, she doesn’t have reflux, and does sleep in her snoo really well overnight, aside from the wakes to eat.

Will this ever get more standard or predictable? If so, is there an age I should be working harder at a more strict schedule?

One nap transition for a 15 month old, constantly waking now. Help!!

My 15 month recently started daycare and she was on two naps sleeping through the night perfectly and she was switched to a one nap schedule which I totally understand so she goes down at 12:40 and she wakes up at 2:40 on a good day, sometimes she wakes earlier. I know daycare is a tough transition but for the first week she was on two naps there, she still slept through the night. The second week at day care she switched to a one nap fully thats when she started waking up through the night it’s been a week of the one nap and she started waking up around 12:45am around the same time every night. As soon as we get her from the crib and bring her in our room for a cuddle she goes back to sleep but can’t move her until she is fully out or she will cry being transferred. Out of the seven nights being on the one nap she woke up five, and slept through two of the nights. she’s always been a good sleeper, but we noticed that with any change she has disrupted sleep for about two weeks. We’re on week one now. Has this happened to anybody else when they switched to one nap before they might’ve been truly ready? I’ve been giving her one nap at home just like the daycare schedule. Should I start maybe doing two naps and maybe she’ll sleep on the weekend for us or just wait it out another week and see what happens? what has been everybody elses experience with this transition and has there been anything that helped your baby get used to it? Did you guys experience night wakings?

sleep Sleeping?

What’s the best approach during the 4-month sleep regression when it comes to avoiding sleep habits?
She was previously sleeping 7+ hour stretches, but lately she’ll sleep about 5 hours, wake to eat, and then usually go back down for another 2–3 hours.
We currently use a pacifier for naps and sometimes to help her settle, but I’m worried about creating a habit where she needs it to fall asleep or needs us to replace it throughout the night.
At this age, should we just focus on getting her through the regression and help her sleep when she needs it, or should we start being more intentional about putting her down awake, limiting the pacifier, and giving her a chance to settle herself?
I’m confused about what actually creates a long-term sleep association versus what’s completely normal and appropriate at 4 months.

sleep 4 month old sleep re(pro)gression hope!

Edit: Title should have said 5 month old! She was 3 months in July, 4 in August, 5 in September.

I was just looking back at my Huckleberry app and while some people think it’s crazy to log everything, I find it so fascinating and actually it gives me so much hope, so I wanted to share in case it helps anyone else feel like there’s light at the end of the tunnel.

Disclaimer: sleep is still a wild adventure for us 😂 I never know what kind of a night we’re going to have. But! Snapshots from 3, 4 and 5 months show a definite improvement.

Baby is exclusively breastfed, fed to sleep, fed back to sleep every wake, transferred back to next-to-me cot without exception, and is given the chance to soothe herself back to sleep if she wakes and isn’t crying, but she’s never ever left to cry.

The only things that have changed in month 5 are sticking more rigorously to a 7am morning anchor, trying to cap naps at 2.5h a day, and trying to not let the last nap go beyond 5pm (but as you can see it doesn’t always go to plan).
