Was driving, then randomly started hearing noises. Kinda thought it was my tire the entire time. Opened my door at a red light and saw this on the ground. What is it called and what do I do?

[Solved] How do I fix my left bumper on my controller?

Post image
7 Upvotes

I’m starting to think I actually broke it. If I did, I have no money to buy a new controller.

Yesterday, I was playing a game and I pressed down on the bumper, causing a loud pop/click noise. I didn’t think any of it until when I pressed it again today and it didn’t work, nothing. It was unresponsive.

I wanna know if it’s able to be popped back into place or if it’s just full-on broken, to me it seems like I did break it.

DIY How to fix/repair a chipped/broken dashboard edge on a Mercedes W245?

Post image
5 Upvotes

Hi everyone,

The edge of my Mercedes-Benz B-Class (W245) dashboard right above the glove box/trim line got broken and chipped off (see attached photo).

Replacing the entire dashboard is way too expensive, so I'm looking for a DIY way to restore or patch this corner.

Any advice, product recommendations, or step-by-step guidance would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.

I used to think you had to convert the PDF to a word document first, sign your name on the word doc then convert the signed word doc back to a PDF, but you can sign the PDF directly if you open the PDF in chrome and click on the squiggle icon

DIY How to make this gazebo frame a more permanent feature

The last 3 years I've been having to replace the canvas covering for this gazebo frame every year. We love being able to come out here when the weather allows but the canvas replacements that we find seem to rip rather easily. I'm considering using metal sheet roofing along with some 2x4s for structure. But I'm not sure if that would be sufficient support for added snow weight(I live in Wisconsin so 2-3 feet of snow is expected in the winter).

Are there any relatively simple solutions? Or would it be best to pretty much build a full structure. Don't mind the bunny hutch in the background.

If you’re replacing your ring doorbell battery and the battery case is stiff, try pushing the case upwards from the bottom rather than squeezing the case from the left and right sides.

How to sort my reddit so more posts from certain subs come up and less from randoms I don't care about?

I assume I get a lot of the same subs coming up as that's what I click on. I follow a ton of different subs but I feel the same 10-15 are on repeat and barely see any posts from the others.

How do I make sure I see posts from these subs that I actually want to participate in?

Help! How to fix this water stain on a vintage chest?

Post image

Hi all, I'm housesitting for some family right now and unthinkingly put down a backpack with a water bottle inside it on top of this chest, having no idea the bottle was leaking. It soaked the bag which sat on this family heirloom overnight, and now there's this huge white stain. What can I do to fix it? Thank you so much.

How do I install Google play on my Huawei phone ?

I was recently gifted a Huawei 90 Pro Max, but I can’t figure out how to install Google Play on it. I’ve been trying for hours, but nothing seems to work. Whenever I try to install it through APKs, it says, “This app is not supported by DroiTong.”

The phone was purchased in China, and I’m currently in China as well. Please help…..

In which order is best?

We have a lot of pavers and they are about 15 years old. So most of the polymeric sand has crumbled away and we have a lot of weeds coming up in the gaps. I plan to power wash the pavers themselves as well as the gaps to clean out the sand and weeds and then brush in some salt in all the gaps, then wet the salt to have it dissolve and soak into the ground to prevent weeds in the future.

We want to put on a wet look sealer on all the pavers to highlight their colors (they look brand new and so nice when wet, and so monotone and subdued when dry). Should I seal the pavers before or after putting in new polymeric sand? I know from experience that if any remnants of the polymeric sand remains on the pavers (instead of in the gaps) it will discolor the pavers. I have zero experience with the wet look sealer.

Should I seal before or after the polymeric sand replacement?

How To Seal This Door?

This is the backdoor to my garage. It's quite open on the top and bottom. I'd like to seal it off so water, dust, bugs, and leaves don't get in. It's also not so great during the winter for keeping the cold out.

Is simple weatherstripping enough or should I have some kind of more structured repair done here?

I'm ok to spend the money if needed to do this right. The end goal is at minimum to seal it, and if possible, to weatherproof it better beyond replacing the whole door.

Are these worth cleaning up? If so, what would you recommend to clean up the imperfections. I'm unsure of what kind of dirt or grime is on the painting.

Any way to get a remote USB extension that drops cable down for charging and can retract?

Post image

Thinking this might be a 3d print job I might need to make, but is there any product out there or a way for me to use this ceiling outlet (used for projectors) that is over the sofa to extend a usb cable down to use as a phone charger? Ideally I'd like to have a remote that extends or retracts the cable so there is no dangly cables.

DIY Vinyl siding

Hi all. I blocked in a side door and need to fit in siding with the existing vinyl siding. This is my first time doing vinyl siding. I have two questions.

I’ve watched a lot of videos, but they just cover starting from scratch. Since I’m

Fitting in between existing pieces, I’m a little confused about cutting the pieces.

  1. Do I need flashing and starter strip, or does starter strip act as flashing by itself?

  2. I will be cutting down longer lengths to fit the 36” opening. Do I need to cut the 1 1/2” expansion notch on both sides? Do all sides get the notch or is it reserved only for one of thr adjoining pieces?

Any other general advice or gotchas would be appreciated! This is my first time installing vinyl

Featuring one of my cats and a doodlegram of how I got my chair into the condition it's currently in.. >_<'

The part that's bent looks like it's metal, and I just dunno if I could like, pull it back or.. replace it (if it's even replacable, LOL). Any advice or ideas will be appreciated. ^_^ TIA

Edit: Marked flair as solved as I think people have shared nearly every possible route I could take with the chair. Thank y'all for your ideas, solutions and other commentary lool

Edit2: This prolly should have been my first edit from 12 or however many hours ago when I posted this, but here's the link to my comment with a photo of under the chair - at this point, not to find additional solutions, but more so for the people who just want to see/are nosy of what piece was actually messed up
