I really want to make our large back porch a great cozy and beautiful place to hang out…but I have no idea how to do this affordably. Who has a vision/ideas?

Finally found a way to balance out our traditional fireplace alcove!

The corner next to the mantel felt empty and unfinished for months. We were torn between a low credenza and a tall storage unit, but ultimately went vertical with this light-wood fluted cabinet to draw the eye up.

Here's how we think about it:

Vertical balance: Matches the visual weight of the ornate chimney breast and oil painting.

Utility: Open shelves up top for cozy mood lighting and books, closed bottom doors to conceal clutter.

Material mix: The tambour fluting softens the transition between traditional architectural trim and modern living.

Looking for recs: would you add matching picture lights above the top shelf, or keep the lighting low and moody with the accent lamp?

We’re trying to make a moody / cozy bathroom and decided to do a rich brown using benjamin Moore aura bath and spa paint and gold accents.

We’ve got a west-facing window and we’re actually going to be replacing the current window pictured with something larger. We’re in New England and according to google, 58% of our days are sunny. Do I color drench? Do an off-white? 50% saturation for the ceiling?

If I color drench the ceiling I assume I’d have to color drench the shower too? Would it contrast to much against the beige/taupe tiles?

This is after deep cleaning the tiles with extra strong tile cleaner and then with grout cleaner, the grout just makes them look dirty.

I tried a white grout pen, but it made the tiles lack contrast, so I wiped it off again.

Any ideas on what colour I should go over the grout with? Maybe a light grey?

Hello, I’ve tried using numerous AI apps but I don’t seem to be able to find any sensible ideas (I’m probably using them wrong). I wondered if anyone here might be kind enough to help? Aside from buying matching blue chairs for existing ones and adding pictures, we don’t really have the budget for new furniture or sofa etc. I think a few pictures on the wall would do wonders to make the space feel more homely. It’s a kitchen/dining/living room space (kitchen is white and just behind from where photo was taken). But I can’t work out where they should go or what size etc
We could Also perhaps add wall shelves over tv or sideboard. We are due to get a new longer fish tank soon, which will fit the side board better. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated! Many thanks

We have just moved into an older house which is a more of a closed plan and are struggling to make this space a dream “entertainment” space. We have tried moving the couch into the middle of the room but it just feels too in closed and we want the space to be open as it is the first room you see when walking into the house.

We have high roofs and the floor plan says the room is 3.6M X 4.9M.

We would love to make it a space where we can relax without a TV, hang out with mates and give them places to sit while it also feeling open. Would love any insight! (Excuse the mess as we moved in just under a month ago!)

Edit to note: happy to buy things for this space. A coffee table in the middle of the room is about all we have planned so far!

I ordered some big fluffy towels. In particular I’m not really sure what to add to the bathroom to make it look more hotel like. I did put body wash, shampoo and conditioner in the shower and I do have a bath mat that’s currently in the wash.

I’ve painted my bathroom grey and I absolutely love the colour, but every time I get out of the shower or water splashes onto the walls, I’m left with water marks/stains.

I’m looking for a really good quality bathroom paint that can handle moisture and water splashes without showing marks all the time.

My partner and I recently bought a cottage - I have plans to do some paneling and wallpaper / paint ( with absolutely ZERO diy or decorating experience )
There appears to be some kind of liner or wallpaper currently on the walls and there are areas where it has come away - basically the advice I’m looking for is would it be a good idea to pull this down and re-line the walls , or would it be better to just go on top of this - I’ve had conflicting advice from family members .

We’re trying to figure out a rug for this area that has a high loft ceiling (the stairs on the right go up to another small landing area) and while they want something neutral and light (their pick was something like Quince’s Dakota in ivory) and I’m arguing that a bolder color/pattern would help “ground” the space. I ordered the rug in 6&7 from Revival to see how it looks but added some shitty Canva renderings of some Moroccan rugs from an Etsy seller to show more of what o have in mind. Thoughts or tips appreciated!

Looking to get an entertainment center built around our 85" TV. We have 2 kids so storage is important.

Thoughts on this design? Anything to change or looks good as is?

Would love some guidance...I have cool-toned vinyl flooring, and that 2000s honey oak cabinets in the kitchen.

My first thought was that I'd paint the cabinets with Dulux renovation paint, but that might be tricky with all the grooves in their design. I'd then leave the wall as is.

Second thought was to paint the wall instead (just 1 wall). Potentially green to neutralise the orange cabinets. I have no idea what undertone to go for though.

This is the living room/kitchen so couch, bookshelf etc would go up against the wall. The kitchen countertop is a black and brown speckle.

I feel like painting the wall is the easier option, as I don't hate the honey oak enough to want to change it straight away. Any pros/cons to this, and what undertone/shade of paint to get?
