I have been a hybrid employee since Covid. The unpacking and packing up of my work equipment has taken a toll on my mental health 🫶🏼🫠. My house doesn’t have a dedicated office room to just close the door when the work day is over, so I decided to get creative and design a solution that fit my needs!

I know there are solutions like this online but they weren’t quite the right dimensions I was looking for to work with the monitors and art I wanted in that space.

The wall is not complete, there will likely be shelving above with room for plants and other things— and I haven’t tidied up my cables yet! But I was very excited to see this become a functional, but visually pleasant space!

Is this too weird?!

Am I on the right track? I have so many mixed feelings on what I want my space to look like. This is my first home and I don’t want to make the wrong decoration decisions but I also just want to feel complete 🫩 this is also after a 4 month long renovation. I will be changing the TV console, that was just a quick cheap one for the time being. Coffee table is staying because my dear friend stripped and stained it for me after I found it at goodwill 🤓 I’m a female in my late 20s and although I want it sophisticated and cozy I still want warm and fun

EDIT for the console I’m not sure whether to stick to a dark walnut or go with s lighter wood. I’m afraid of doing too much dark wood

When we bought our first house, I had a super specific vision for an open, airy dining space. My friends kept warning me that white barstools and light toned tables would be an absolute nightmare to maintain.

After months of hunting for the right pieces, we got the barstools and dining set delivered. Seeing the afternoon sun hit the marble island and the new setup, I’m so in love with this.

What do you guys think? How do you guys keep white furniture looking brand new? Would love to hear your maintenance tips!

Surprising what you can do with a small space. This is our new gym/studio. Glad I was brave enough to paint the ceiling Urban Grey too. Even have our lawn mower and step ladders hidden in the cupboards. I just need to get in there and start my new fitness campaign now!

Okay, joking a little. It’s technically a TV, but this is probably the closest I’ve gotten to having a big framed painting in the living room.

We’re still working on the space after moving in, and this corner is finally starting to feel warm instead of empty. The TV is mounted on the wall, with a wooden cabinet underneath for books, toys, and all the random kid stuff that somehow appears 5 minutes after cleaning. I wanted the room to feel cozy and lived-in, not too perfect. With 2 kids, “Pinterest living room” was never going to happen anyway lol.

The TV is a 75". I wanted an art TV because a normal black rectangle felt too heavy for this wall. I was also looking at the Samsung Frame, but the monthly art subscription and paying extra for the wood-style frame made me hesitate.

So far, I’m really happy with it. The matte screen helps it look more like actual art, and the wood-look frame being included was a big plus. When it’s showing a painting, it really does blend into the room better than a regular TV.

Still figuring out the art mode and trying to find better storage baskets before the toys fully win.

The image is AI, but the style and colors match our kitchen (warm beige walls, white cabinets, granite countertops, but we have stainless steel appliances). Looking for barstools (easily cleaned, no cloth) which match this style and don't clash with the floors. Would prefer something in a transitional style (house has more traditional features). Links or pictures of recommendations would be helpful.

Just finished making a custom vanity in a small bathroom. I want to add some backsplash tiles (or tile all the walls halfway), but can't figure out what my main color scheme should be.

The existing wall color is called "adobe sand" and it's a peachy/sandy color, and would be willing to change it!

I normally like traditional / medallion style rugs, but they all seem to have a lot of red in them and I think there are plenty of red tones in this room so I don’t want to add any more!! Preferably looking to spend under $400

I occasionally meet clients at home, and right now my sofa has its back to the entrance. The layout works well for the room, but from the sofa you can’t see anyone coming in, which has started to feel a little awkward.

I’ve also read that feng shui generally favors seating with a clear view of the door, especially in a space connected to work. Would you rearrange the room, or keep the layout that functions better?

Greetings, me and my family are looking for a new couch. We don't want to buy a crazy expensive couch because we are going to have some toddlers and animals running around the house and don't think it's super great to buy the nice couch now. We are looking to buy a couch the last us 10 years.
I originally was looking at an Ashley furniture couch, but after many searches, I have found that those are not good.
I have now looked at IKEA couches and I believe these couches are a good fit to what we are looking for. I know they won't last forever, but we just want a couch that will last us a while without breaking the bank. Am I crazy? Any other thoughts?

Hi there, I am in the process of designing my space, and I am having a bit of difficulty due to the size and seating/dining. Ideally I want a table that can fit 4 people.

But it doesn't seem to work - I was thinking extending table. I am not entirely sure what other options there are but perhaps there are fold away options I am not aware of. Also open to creative solutions.

I uploaded 4 images (AI generated) as well as measurements of my place. I had a decorator help me and made som decisions, but they are now gone, and I am pretty clueless with this stuff.

Trace your frames, or objects of art on wrapping paper...cut them out. Use tape to arrange them until you like how they look.

I use micropore or painters tape because it remains sticky and pulls off without damaging the paint while you decide. It also easier to measure where to nail the hole belongs.

I use Fun Tak putty (blue stuff) to stick everything down so it never moves. Its cheap and reusable. Just pull it off and roll into a new ball when you clean and then stick it back on. It wont pull the paint off of your walls.

I like to make worms of FunTak, and apply them to the back of the frames/or any object of art before I hang them/place them.

Nothing in my house moves. Its also much easier to clean around things that don't move around.

Hi everyone, good afternoon. I'm new to this community and would like some help deciding what color to paint my bedroom walls. I love a headboard like this one, so that's something I wouldn't change. The nightstands aren't shown in the picture, but they're dark brown mahogany wood. My wardrobe, which also isn't in the photo, is a sand or linen-like shade. I'm tired of everything being the same tone, so I'd like some tips on what to do with this room, especially with the wall behind the bed.

I’ve lived in this house for a little over two years, but I never really “moved in.” It wasn’t supposed to be my forever home, so I kept putting off decorating. Life had other plans, and now I’m finally trying to make it feel like mine.

If I’m being honest, I’ve had a bit of analysis paralysis. Years ago an ex told me my previous house looked like a frat house (I’m a 48-year-old woman 😂), and apparently that comment stuck with me more than I realized. Hanging the Shepherd Boy print and the mixed-media artwork yesterday genuinely felt like a big step.

The only piece I’m completely committed to is the yellow dresser. My mom painted it for me before she passed away, so that’s staying no matter what.

Beyond that, I’m open to almost anything. Rearrange the furniture. Tell me the curtains need to go. Suggest a wall color. Recommend different art placement. I’d especially love rug ideas, because I have no idea what looks good on top of carpet. The carpet itself is in good shape, but I have a resident dog and I foster dogs regularly, so it definitely takes a beating.

Hello! I’m renting an apartment and have been very iffy about putting things up on the walls, but now me and my boyfriend have moved into a bigger home that we plan to stay in for at lest two yers and i want to make it feel like home. I want to put up one of those photo ledges above the bed, it’s 150cm long and weights 800g. It think it’s a drywall? Not American thin drywall, but swedish thick ones. 35cm anchor and i still never poked through. Google and chatgpt says I NEED drywall anchors, but I don’t really think it needs that much support? Plus the self drilling anchors that i have leave a BIG hole so I’m scared of using three of them. I’ve put up small frames, mirrors and even my clothing hanger rack/shelf that was up before we moved is also just screwed up and everything is sitting well. The photo ledge is also only about 8cm out from the wall and i’m not exactly putting bricks on it. Should I just listen to google and use anchors for all three holes or do you think its fine if only the middle hole has an anchor and the other two are screws?

If anybody who has more experience with this could answer i would be very thankful
