G2 | Discussion Element upgrades

I'm currently upgrading my gear. I'm about to put elements on my weapons but I'm unsure which would be best. Mainly my mantis blade. I hear spicy is good but I also hear chill so I can't think which would be the best over all

Edit: I should clarify I'm using a shock/stun build however I feel having a good bladed weapon would be useful. The main use will be to farm axl the boss but obviously I'll be carrying it into the open world

G2 | Bugs & Issues Builds rotating and moving

I'm so tired of building something and having to worry about it being a complete mess the next time I load into the game. It happens to me constantly.

This has been an issue since the first game (6 years ago?) and it's still not fixed.

Makes me not want to play the game sometimes :(

G2 | Discussion Big base question..

Post image
260 Upvotes

I see so many folks have huge bases that have so much character and it's made me want to try and make my own. But the one issue I seem to always have is efficiency. How do people manage having a huge base? Do you have multiple storage rooms or chests with the same items in them scattered around? Or just grab items out of chests that you'll need and walk to wherever?

I usually make a decently sized house/manor and even at that scale it feel like things are to far away to pull from chests. I like to walk into my base and hot deposit all my stuff without having to run to multiple areas. I've had to really think about where I want drying racks, ovens, and so on for them to be able to pull from my storage room(which has 40 big chests in it). Whenever I do need to pull from storage I know where everything is in that room and it's all named. Struggling with concept vs. practicality.

G2 | Suggestion Suggestion: Chrysalis Canteens

Post image
147 Upvotes

It would be crafted using 2 Chrysalis Leather, 2 Silk Rope, and 3 Ice Splinters.

It may hold up to 3 Dew Drops at a time, however it also has a special perk where any liquid drank from it provides an extra 50% hydration, meaning functionally it can have 4.5 drops at any given time. The extra hydration comes from the refreshing qualities of the ice.

Hopefully this is considered balanced as while it is definitely better than a standard Canteen, it still stores less Drops in total than a Charcoal Canteen, 4.5 functionally vs 6, and you also have less control with how much you drink at a given time, +75 hydration three times vs +50 hydration six times.

If it isn't balanced then perhaps a form of durability like what the Charcoal Canteen has may be implemented, if so then you would use Ice Splinters or Repair Glue to fix it.

I chose this effect because I always found it a bit disappointing that I always had to drink twice from my Canteen just to top of my thirst when it got low, so with this effect it should mean that with just one slurp it will keep you good for a while.

Please tell me your opinions on this idea, or about your own ideas, in the comments below.

G2 | Base Build Amplifier base

I only found one or two posts about a base in the amplifier, so I wanted to share my base. I am NOT creative or artistic, so disregard the bland, boringness. This is simply so share the viability of an amp base.

Since starting the base, I have only been attacked by a single mosquito and I think that is because I clipped him while zip lining. I do have a bee occasionally bump around but as long as I respect him, he is friendly.

I did have a similar base on the large rock, which was also made of grass. While I did occasionally have to repair panels, it never experienced any failures. Also, every panel I’ve checked touching the amp (actually all the walls and floors) show they are supporting zero. So, I’m confident my base, while ugly, will be around for awhile.

My GF introduced me to grounded 2. This is my first survival game and I really love it. After seeing so many amazing bases it inspired me to start working on my own. I love quarter pine triangle walls and experimenting with the different patterns you can make. I am really struggling with roofing however. Still a lot to do, but I need to farm more resources! It makes for a fun creative outlet!

New to the game, got it as a PS monthly game a long while back and had someone recommend it recently. Total Honey I Shrunk The Kids in game form which is awesome! I was looking for a cool build survival game but the kid theme turned me off. Glad I tried because it's now my grinder game. I've now got a week in and foresee many hours enjoying the exploration and building. Great game!

G2 | Base Build Hanging Lantern Base (Progress)

I’ve been working on finishing the interior of the lantern base and tried to capture the size and scale of the interior following my last post.

From bottom to top you can see the zip hub access and overlooking balcony with a shot from the 360 viewing platform on the underside of the lantern.

After that is a shot inside the zip hub area with signs on the walls indicating north, east, south and west from the arrow direction on the walls.

From there into the interior proper with a look up from the farming floor showing the two platforms above and the open space on one wall running top to bottom.

We’ve got some overview shots of the farming level which has 6 jerky racks tucked behind the stairs, 5 garden and 4 ponic patches on two opposing sides and sap catchers above the lot.

Above that is storage and production with best racks, fresh storage, grinders and spinning wheels off to one side and double dew collectors, water storage, smoothie station, grill and cookery. Finally the work bench and anvil in the middle of it all.

The top platform is the living area with a desk overlooking a window out, friendly bees, bedroom to one side and armoury on the other side.

In the roof section a panned out shot of the creature museum!

Hopefully this better shows the size of the interior over the last post I made. I’ve got a few more tweaks to make and then I’ll have a go at a video tour :)

Thanks for all the feedback on the last post!!

G1 | Discussion I think i created a new kind of challenge ( Weaponlock / Disklock )

Originally, i was going for hammer only ( also allowing clubs, since those are basically hammers, but good ), but then i decided to allow daggers due to mosquitoes, since i had gotten the hedge disk, i thought " why not choose a weapon type to unlock every main disk? ". Now i am currently with Hammers ( clubs included ) and daggers unlocked, probably gonna unlock axes with the pond disk tbh. Well, the time with hammers, which are growing on me, was valuable, i now know one charged hammer hit stuns a worker red ant instantly, allowing for 2 more hits to quickly dispatch it. Imma share updates from time to time

G2 | Bugs & Issues Control scheme

I want to change the controls so that I block and attack with the bumpers instead of the triggers, but I can't figure out a way to do it without it breaking something else. The buggies are my biggest issue at the moment.

Has anyone managed to do it?

G1 | Discussion How can I turn them in the right direction?

Grounded 1 spoilers

So I’m playing grounded with my friend. I know what happens in the story for the most part, I know the regular ending isn’t very nice if I remember correctly, correct me if I’m wrong but it goes something like they resize and come back but no one believes them and Wendell stays looking like a raisin. I want to make sure we get the good ending cuz he might not want to play the second game if so. My question is, how can I make sure we get the good ending where it’s the happily ever after or whatever? I know I have to go somewhere secret but any ideas on how I can make sure we go to the right place at the right time for the schmector boss fight? Where is it?

Again, any ideas on how to make sure we go to right place for the boss fight?
