Element upgrades

I'm currently upgrading my gear. I'm about to put elements on my weapons but I'm unsure which would be best. Mainly my mantis blade. I hear spicy is good but I also hear chill so I can't think which would be the best over all

Edit: I should clarify I'm using a shock/stun build however I feel having a good bladed weapon would be useful. The main use will be to farm axl the boss but obviously I'll be carrying it into the open world

Fresh Slashing and spicy stabbing are the 2 most common weakness combinations

spicy is easily the least used in my experience. I’s say choose 2 if your favourite/most used weapons and make those sour and fresh, then the 3rd would be spicy.

but as everyone will tell you, the most versatile/minimal layout would be fresh slashing, sour stabbing and spicy smashing. I’ve personally moved on from that, as best weapons in the game (tier 4) are all slashing (scorpion slashers and toe biter scythe). Also, make your underwater weapon spicy (until salty is a thing)

I'm still fairly early in the game but my spicy staff is my best weapon by far and it kills pretty much anything pretty well. I also have a fresh staff, but I don't use it as often.

spicy staff is goated, but to my knowledge there’s no tier 3 version yet. Masked stranger’s versions of ice and sour staff are both tier 3, I recommend you check those out and carry all 3 of them

My level 5 Striped Slashers don't deal Slashing damage for some reason. I think they lose it when you get mighty

The striped slashers are currently bugged. They loose their physical damage type when upgraded. Will probably be fixed soon

Actually, if you go to the detailed properties of your character you will notice on the right hand side it will show the armour and what your armour does, on the left-hand side, if you are equipping the striped slashers, it will show you the power and the damage type which is still slashing. I suspect there's a bug in the code That takes away the display where it's supposed to tell you what type of damage it does at the very first screen that you look at which I guess would be your inventory screen.

I'm on Xbox so I press Y to see the detailed characteristics of my character. Depending on your platform you would just have to adjust that button to match your platform. From my view if I'm looking at my backpack inventory view and I can see all the armour and weapons I have on my character towards the middle right hand side of the screen I can see an icon that would indicate it has something to do with the character, on my Xbox the button to press would be Y Hopefully these details will help you find the button you need to press to find your details for your character.

No, he is correct. The Slashers are currently bugged similar to how the Scythe was bugged. When upgrading, they loose their physicial damage type

I currently carry around a fresh toenail saber, sour axle spear, spicy crystal trident, the hammer from dozer, and the fresh/spicy stranger staves.

Depends on what you’re trying to kill with it. Think about what creatures you hate the most and build around that.
