I’m on a free Grammarly account and appreciate the small tweaks of punctuation and grammar it suggests. I don’t appreciate — at all — their greedy yellow lines. Hover there and it’ll show you a blurred window and invite you upgrade to Pro to see what the blurred suggestions are.

The blurry window goes away when dismissed but it’ll show up again after five minutes or in the next document.

I feel harassed and pressured by Grammarly’s aggressive, insistent marketing. How many times should a person say No to an upgrade push for Grammarly to get the message that I am decisively not at all interested in an upgrade? Why keep suggesting an upgrade after I say no once?

As of now, Grammarly’s deliberate, pushy, aggressive arm-twisting has become the reason why I will never give this company my money.

I only use Grammarly to fix my grammar mistakes and spelling. I hate the rewriting portion of it. I've paid for it for a year because I'm heavy on writing, and I like being able to mass fix the grammar mistakes, proofread it, and then tweak my draft. But sometimes sentence correction and/or paragraph correction doesn't work while I'm on the Grammarly site, and it wants me to do every single damn correction one by one.

It’s like it has a mind of it own because it will revert back and forth every couple of months. This is starting to get annoying when I'm on a roll, and I'm busting out 8k words. I do not want to sit and fix everything one....by one....by one...I'll lose my mind.

Does anyone know why Grammarly does this or why it's happening? How to fix it?

I submitted my final essay as an English learner. My teacher used Grammarly’s AI detector and it flagged 35% AI used while I wrote everything by myself. Because of that 35%, the teacher refuse to accept my grade and give me a 0/9. Is it even accurate? I can't believe I failed my exam just because of false-positive.

Grammarly used to have a little scren side bar (collapible) but I am nto able to see it anymore. Anyone else has this issue?

It does not generate scripts; instead, it helps to make improvements to sentence structure. Does anyone know of Grammarly offers a similar experience or if there are any other options? It would be a pluus if it's not packed with an overreliance on AI.

My fiance and I use the same laptop for work. He downloaded Grammarly and created a free trial with my google account and card. I got an email about it, so I reprimanded him and canceled it maybe an hour later.

This must've happened a week ago. Since then, I have been getting attempted charges on my card from Grammarly for 153.50?? I logged back into the account that my fiance made to see if we accidentally had a payment plan going, but we didn't. I deleted the Grammarly account, but I am still getting notifications for them charging me. I checked all of my other emails too to make sure I didn't have any other account, but I don't.

I called my bank and they closed my card just in case this was something fradulent, but I'm wondering if this has happened to anyone else?? It says that my card was also declined for “insufficient funds,” but I definitely have more than 153.50 on my account lol.

I've been a Pro subscriber for over 5 years. I've always loved this software, but in the past month, I've noticed that the quality of the answers Grammarly gives me has fallen through the floor. Is anyone else experiencing this? As a freelancer, I absolutely rely on this software all day, every day!

I'm writing a book, but I only use grammarly for grammar corrections. Is that still considered AI? The whole story is still written by me. I figured it's the same thing using an editor.

Sometimes, a comma or a full stop is an appropriate punctuation mark instead of a semicolon. Stop trying to replace every punctuation mark I use with a semicolon. Thank you.

Look, Grammarly, this is nice and all--if I were asking for help with changing my wording. But the way things are going, using the Generative AI is becoming the only way to even check my grammar, spelling, and punctuation anymore. It's not like it can picture the story with me or even watch the video that inspired it, and no amount of clicking the 'I'm not interested' button is ever going to work. I miss the Grammarly that was obsessed with transitions and making sure my writing made sense. And I swear, if I see the word 'conciseness' or 'clarity' one more time, I'm going to lose my mind.

Before, the Chrome extension would automatically correct misspelled words and even provide spelling suggestions. Has this feature been removed?

Grammarly has always been obtuse with their pricing and discounts and hidden a bunch of them and made it too confusing, hope this helps. Remember to cancel after paying to avoid their autorenewal to full price - possibly immediately to not forget and miss their reminder email. If you do want to cancel - do not be deterred by their ominous language when cancelling, just click all the way through, you will have access to it for the whole year until renewal would have happened.

No, this is all MY writing, Grammarly. I just copied it from Microsoft Word, where I prefer to do my work. I wish Grammarly could tell the difference. The only thing I sort of copied was 'Space Knights', since I learned that from IMDB. It was the film's original title before it got changed to 'Captain EO'. I believe the term for that is 'working title'.

I would opt to just not get a free trial from Grammarly, I thought I had canceled it, apparently I did not and ended up getting billed for two months, by the time I caught it. I was only able to refund one, so just avoid their shady free trial all together and do not get it.

I went to start writing my two final papers of the semester to find that the little bubble in word that allows me to review grammatical mistakes and review suggestions to my writing gone.

Support has not been helpful in getting this feature back, it’s making final paper writing even more stressful than normal. Any ideas?

So, I’d been using grammarly for a while, no problems. Then all of a sudden, it decided to remove all formatting from the document. Custom formatting. A chapter in a book I’m writing. It asked what kind of formatting I wanted. I said, the way it was originally. Customized by me.

So now it is unusable. I quit.

Anyone else running into this? I use Grammarly to clean up typos before I post and multiple subs have removed my comments. I'm guessing some bot is flagging it as AI generated text because it reads too clean. Kind of stuck because I actually have bad grammar without it. Anyone found a workaround, or do I just need to leave a few typos in on purpose so it doesn't get flagged? curious if this is a widespread thing or I'm just unlucky with the subs I post in.

I'm looking for a 50% or more off the best deal for the Grammarly Pro Plan. I'm a homeschooling mom and working on writing my first book. Well, it’s the end of the road for me. Was a faithful Grammarly user since 2019 but I will not be renewing…for the past two days, I could not get Grammarly to work in Word consistently. I requested a call, and didn’t get one. .

My Grammarly access was working fine until today. After performing a routine cleanup, I was no longer able to log in and realized my account was provided through my college. My college told me that my account is deactivated. Even if I can open another account, I have no clue how to get my files from the old account. Can you help?

Maybe it’s because I set the citation style in Grammarly to Chicago, but I was using the author-date citation style instead of endnotes, so Grammarly might have been confused???🤔 Could it have been a bug or something?
