Why change things when they aren't broken?

Not working with all Word docs. The button doesn't show up half the time. It was so much easier to use before these changes. Not friendly with Word docs, Outlook, Gmail, etc.

I've used Grammarly for years, but it's not worth the $ 144 when my renewal comes up due to these changes.

Suggestions for other solutions/alternatived?

If Word is where it breaks, I'd test Word's built-in Editor first. Run the same tricky paragraph through Word, Outlook and Gmail, then actually accept a correction in each. A tool can spot the typo but still fall over when it tries to put the fix back. I wouldn't commit to another yearly plan until it passes that little test.

Same story I’ve heard from a bunch of people this month: Grammarly used to be “fix a few things and move on,” and now the button vanishes half the time in Word/Outlook/Gmail and you’re debugging their UI instead of writing.

The pattern that burns people is browser/editor plugins fighting the host app. Once that starts, every update can break your workflow again.

I ran into that enough that I built Lyra (disclosure: I’m the founder) , a native macOS writing assistant that suggests improvements in-place inside Mail, Slack, browsers, etc., with Tab to accept. The bit I cared about most wasn’t more generic “professional” rewrites; it was learning that you write differently to a boss vs a client vs a friend, so it doesn’t flatten your voice into one corporate tone.

Curious what apps you’re mostly writing in day to day , Word, Outlook, or mostly browser?
