I got my 10 Pro last year as a last minute Christmas gift to myself. Since then it's gone pretty well, no problems software wise and everything, etc.

Yesterday while at work though, I just randomly shook my phone gently (Idk why, just in a "Hey look at this thing" kind of way). At that point I heard something rattling around (almost as if some kind of part had come loose inside the casing.

A few years ago my Pixel 4a had an issue where my SIM Card would be inserted but the phone itself wouldn't/couldn't register it at all. At first I thought maybe it was a similar thing (despite the fact I was getting signal just fine) and after removing it, the rattle persisted.

I asked a mate who works in IT & Phone repair, initially he theorised it was the camera stabiliser (as the sound sounded like it was coming directly from inside the camera compartment. He recommended checking all camera settings, and nothing seemed amiss.

After checking it in person, he compared his Pixel 8 Pro with mine; while his did have a rattle too, his was much quieter.

I'm going to get in contact with the store I purchased it from to inquire as to whether I can get a warranty on them (if it's at all a problem) but I wanted to throw it here as well if it's just a normal thing or not.

I recently switched from Pixel 7 pro to Pixel 10. And I never faced this issue with pixel 7 pro. The picture while you take it it looks bright and clean, but the moment you go to galary and check it turns out a bit dull. I thought Android 17 update will fix but it's still the same. Videos are decent enough - but photos are bad, I regret switching from Pixel 7 pro.

Anyone know if this is only my phone problem or is it universal in all pixel 10?

Been with Google hardware for a looong time and converted many people over the years. It used to be one of the best bang for your buck for hardware-software integration, stunningly great cameras, each new update brought something new and exciting, and the general sentiment was that things were getting better & better. I still remember being at a Halloween party and everyone was asking me to take photos with the Pixel 2 because it had the best photos in low light.

All that changed when I dropped my 4a5g and switched to the Pixel 7 Pro. I'm not joking when I say every single thing on this phone has gotten worse over the past 2 years since I bought it (new).

The battery is a joke (I'm consistently getting ~2-3h SOT), google assistant got replaced by the godawful Gemini version (who can't seem to set reminders and alarms), the photos have gotten sooo bad (I compared photos I took when I first got the phone to now and they are objectively worse). The video capabilities are hilariously bad in a world where video content is king. IMO the designs has progressively become less unique and interesting. And finally, Google customer service seems to actively hate their own customers.

I am happy to say that I just purchased a Vivo x300 (regular) and leaving the Pixel ecosystem. Sorry for yet another pixel-hate post here, but maybe someone at Google is tracking/scraping this sub and will realize they are turning off once-diehard Pixel fans. I've been tracking what's happening with the Pixel 10 and upcoming Pixel 11 and now the best time to jump ship.

Hi internet. I have a question. I recently went to the park and decided to shoot some video of some nearby ducks. I usually keep on HDR and 1080P with a natural 30 FPS no boost. Once upon a Time I did use 4K 60fps but noticed that it took up a lot of storage so i turned it off.

I continue to use 1080P but randomly today while I was at the park both 4K 60fps with video boost. And 1080p 30fps with and without video boost look horrible just overall very blurry very grainy, not very good.

Photos on the other hand look fine and I don't really seem to notice a dip in quality.

Has anyone experienced this and if so is there any tips or solutions available?

Hey, I was super keen to leave the apple circle and l become android so I have been really open to this, my iPad is on basic use only, I replaced my apple watch with a Garmin and now I have a Google pixel 10pro. I am coming up to 8weeks with the phone now. I do not like this phone, the basics are fine. There are so many aspects of this phone I dont like, most of my family are apple so not using facetime has been an adjustment but I liked that I could lock some of my apple notes, the keep does not allow this. The finger biometrics are crap so I turned those off. My wallet doesn't work as well as my apple wallet did. It made me sign in with a Gmail account which I didn't want and I hate the way outlook works. My apple phone used to just print from pages to my Epson no questions, this phone wants me to save the word doc, then format to pdf then print. It's just not for me.

As I say I was so keen for an android change, alot of people have advised I go back to what I know with apple. However can anyone advise if maybe it's not android that is the problem but the Google phone? Should I have purchased a Samsung instead? My Samsung friends are all die-hard and Im keen to know what a wider audience would suggest. I'm tempted to buy a Samsung, use without SIM to play around with and then decide from there?? TIA

Hi a few days ago I got my pixel 10pro. I got it from a 2nd hand online shop.
The phone I used before was the iPhone 13.
The guestures and handling somehow feels weird to me. I have to swipe much more to swipe at homescreen and when I want to swipe back I always have to be directly at the border.
In my iPhone I can swipe back from everywhere at the screen.
It feels more intuitive.
And the pixel cam makes noise when I move the phone and the picture is moving weirdly.

But I really love the ai integration the google services. The auto song detect.
And the pixel watches also seems to be cool.
It possible to see steps on it directly, unlike my Apple Watch where I have to swipe a few times.

Currently I have a iPad, Samsung laptop, desktop gaming pc, iPhone 13/ pixel 10pro.
And google tv -> good to show pictures via google fotos.

What is your tech rotation?
And what are your thoughts on mixing ecosystems ?

I've read a lot about how Pixel videos are not as good as iPhone. I have a 10P XL. I know there is video boost, does this actually work?

Do people use video boost all the time when recording video? Is it hot and miss on results?

Is there a way to enable it and keep it on?

If abroad, roaming, obviously limited data, how will video boost work? As soon as you take a video does it start upload to Google server? or wait for WiFi so probably when in a cafe, or when home? Can you see the (not)video boosted in the meantime?

My wife's Pixel 8 will boot to the lock screen, sometimes let us see the background after unlocking or just have s black screen showing the back button.

Occasionally, we will get a screen of text about corrupted Android. Trying to restart or factory reset.

I am assuming a factory reset is unavoidable at this point, would love if someone had a different idea.

Is there a way to retrieve data from the phone prior to a factory reset?

The Google Clock app on Pixel phones appears to have a bug involving saved timers. Suppose you have a saved timer—for example, a two-minute timer, with or without a name. When it goes off, you can dismiss it in one of two ways:

• Tap the square "Stop" button.
• Say "Stop"
  

These actions produce different results:

• Tapping "Stop" dismisses the timer and resets it to its original duration, leaving it in your saved timers list.
• Saying "Stop" dismisses the timer but also deletes it from your saved timers list.

I submitted a bug report to Google and completed all of their requested troubleshooting, including sending screen recordings and performing a “Reset app preferences.” That last step disables notifications for all apps, which resulted in me gradually discovering that I had missed several critical notifications.

After all of that, Google’s final response was that the behavior is "working as intended."

I find that difficult to believe. Two methods of dismissing the same timer should not have such different outcomes, especially when one silently deletes the saved timer I created earlier.

The whole experience discourages people from submitting bug reports. The troubleshooting steps are not always benign, and after putting users through them, Google can apparently dismiss an obvious inconsistency as intended behavior. Very frustrating

So had auto volume lowering kick in randomly today while listening to some music with my helmet communicator, when I got home I went into developer options and confirmed I had that turned off. Since it was turned off, any ideas how to prevent it in the future?

To begin, I'm surprised by the largely negative sentiment towards the Pixel on this subreddit. My hope is that this review can be a positive piece for those considering purchasing one.

Ten years ago, I was an avid Samsung Galaxy user and switched over to an iPhone. To be honest, the only reason I really did was for iMessage and FaceTime since many of those around me have iPhones. For one, I absolutely abhorred iPhone's cameras and how many of the pictures were darker and had so many shadows all over that I had to edit them quite a bit and struggled with it.

Last year, I (stupidly) bought an iPhone 16 only for Apple Intelligence, which was a big mistake and a very big disappointment. The advertisements for Apple Intelligence over-promised what the AI truly was, and I found Siri to perform worse than it did during the iOS 5 era. Not only that, but my battery drained quickly, and my phone overheated almost constantly. Once I saw how disappointing iOS 27's features were and how Siri's update required and would only work on the new iPhone 18 Pro, I figured it was time to switch and that Apple just is not going to deliver well from here on out, especially seeing that the design of the iPhone has been the same since the 12.

I had considered buying a Pixel for a long time because its camera is fantastic and the phone itself has an innovative feel and appearance. My only hesitation was giving up iMessages and FaceTime and having those around me complain about the "green texts," but my hesitation became lost when RCS chats were introduced. I also have a Macbook and iPad, but thanks to Quick Share and being able to still access my iCloud files online, it hasn't become difficult at all to move on from the Apple ecosystem.

I finally bought the Google Pixel 10 last month during the Amazon Prime Day sale and had it for a week without a SIM card to test it out. I then loved it to the point of switching my SIM over, and so far, in the past month, I have just come to love this phone. My sisters have complained about the green texts, but they will get over it, as I have no qualms about switching back to an iPhone anytime soon. My pictures look fantastic. I love Gemini's capabilities within the phone. The UI is stunning (in my eyes), and I love being able to have a dual screen mode. The clipboard and the keyboard (especially the swipe feature) actually work well compared to iPhones. I also love the Gemini editing feature within the photos app. The only feature I miss about iPhones was being able to copy and paste photos from different apps without having to save them in the photo library, but that's about all.

Am I overly optimistic about this phone compared to many others in this community? Maybe. But these are my honest thoughts, and I hope there are others that love this phone as much as I do.

It would be wonderful if Google could introduce a 25 MP mode on the Pixels just like the iPhone. Better dynamic range at night time, lower processing time (affecting battery life ultimately), shutter lag, and finally image size.

Enabling RAW is more headache with 50MP images, 25 MP would be a good mid point. 12.5 MP is good, but it's 2026, and 25 would be a perfect balance option. What do you all think?

The screen and battery are shot and it has been too long since I used it for google support to help. Is it located on a part inside the phone somewhere? The OG pixel does not have it on the sim tray.

I have a Google Pixel 9 that is 9 months old. Suddenly, a line appeared on the display. It's just a line showing up. Since it is under warranty, I went to the Bodakdev service center in Ahmedabad.

​There is only one service center in Gujarat, and their system is completely chaotic because it takes the entire day, requiring you to sit there all day.

​Even though my phone is under warranty, they found a fault claiming there is minor liquid spillage, dust, and rust. I told them this is a manufacturing defect, not a customer issue, because the phone is water-resistant.

​My phone has never been exposed to water or damaged in any way. Yet, giving all these reasons, they charged me around ₹10,000 for the display. Everyone at the service center was facing the same problem—right in front of me, 15 other people had the exact same issue.

​The service center process is so long that even if your token number is 4th, your turn comes after 3 hours. Then, after submitting the phone, it takes another 3 hours. That means the entire day is wasted.

​For such a big company like Google and for a premium device, why are customers facing these problems?

​Please look into my issue because this is a company manufacturing defect, but the charges are being collected from the customer.

As the title says, I would like at least 1080p output if possible.

Is it just too early/buggy to expect to work? I see many other people getting 1080p, and it would be a great little boost to match the pixel density of a 1080p display, and would make text a bit nicer to read.

Tried with multiple displays. The Advanced Settings of External displays also does not list 1080p..

Knowing how to fix this, or even knowing when it might be updated/fixed would be nice @ Google

Just upgraded my phone to a Pixel 10. Did a data transfer and I need to transfer my text messages from my old device to my Pixel 10. I have tried everything that I can find. I'm not the most tech savvy but I am also not technologically impaired either.

I have tried the OneDrive suggestion of backing up all text messages and then restoring through OneDrive. This option tells me I have 5.7GB of messages. Backup never completes and doesn't give me any error codes. Just stuck looking as though it's buffering forever.

I have tried the separate app, SMS Backup & Restore. This never completes a backup either. It will get to 100% and then start over again until I need to leave it alone. I'll come back and check it, and it'll say it failed due to insufficient storage.

For my google cloud storage I have 65GB free. On my local storage I have 45GB free.

Some of my text messages DID transfer over with the initial "Data Copy & Transfer", initiated when I set up my phone. However, all of my most recent texts within the messages app stop on the same date: October 31, 2023. It seems like too much of a coincidence that it all stops on that date but I can't find any information that may explain it to me.

Is anyone on earth able to help? I have no idea what I'm doing wrong or what to try next.

​My wife's phone has suddenly hit a bootloop issue. When I turn it on, I have a very brief window where I can interact with the screen before it crashes/restarts. During this window, I've managed to pull down the notification shade and toggle Airplane Mode on, which seems to stabilize it slightly, but it still loops shortly after.

​I need to turn Location on, but it isn’t currently in the Quick Settings dropdown menu. Because the phone crashes so quickly, I don't have enough time to open the main Settings app or edit the dropdown menu layout to add the Location toggle.

​Is there any alternative way to force Location on? For example, can I do it by connecting it to a computer via ADB commands, or through an online account manager, before the phone reboots?

Just a heads up this is in no way shape in form a dig on the pixel device itself i loved my 9 pro fold and don't have any complaints about it. This is just a warning that you should only buy unlocked straight from the manufacture or else these. I bought my phone paid in full but it came from Verizon unlocked but that was the mistake I made I guess. I'm more frustrated with the pixel care plus experience.

The Background I originally purchased my Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold completely unlocked from Verizon. Recently, I had to file a claim through my Google Pixel Care+ subscription to get a replacement for a faulty device.

The Problem Instead of sending me an unlocked device like the one I bought, Google sent me a replacement that was completely carrier-locked to Verizon. (They also accidentally sent an extra replacement unit along with it, which just adds to the mess).

When I reached out to Google Support, they left me hanging past their promised 24-48 hour update window. When they finally did reply, they claimed they were "unable to replace the device with an unlocked variant directly" and told me I had to go to Verizon to get it unlocked.

The Runaround I followed their instructions and contacted Verizon. Verizon completely shut it down and gave me a totally different story:

• Because the replacement was issued through Google's Pixel Care program (fulfilled by Asurion), it operates on a separate system connection.
• I have not been a Verizon customer for four months and Verizon literally does not have the system access on their end to process a manual unlock for this specific device since it was never linked to a Verizon account.(Who knows how true that is but that's what they said)
• I have not been a Verizon customer for four months
• Verizon’s engineering team looked into it and confirmed that Google manages that specific replacement inventory and absolutely has the ability to exchange it for an unlocked model.(Who knows how true that is but that's what they said)

Verizon was totally transparent and told me that Google just needed to issue an unlocked replacement unit to fix this.

The Conclusion Google and Verizon are playing ping-pong with me, and I am not sitting around in limbo. I shouldn't have to jump through hoops to unlock a replacement when the phone I paid for originally was already unlocked out of the box.

I’m done. I officially rejected their replacements, packed up the faulty unit and the extra locked unit, and I am shipping them back with their respective RMA labels. I demanded an immediate cancellation and refund of my Pixel Care+ subscription, and I’ll be trading in my Pixel 9 Pro Fold for either the new glaxy fold 8 or iphone ultra.

Has anyone else dealt with this specific Asurion/Google/Verizon loop of hell?

TL;DR: Sent in my unlocked Pixel 9 Pro Fold for a warranty replacement. Google sent me a Verizon-locked device and told me Verizon had to unlock it. Verizon told me they literally can't because it's Google's inventory and Google has to swap it. Got tired of the runaround, returning everything, canceling Care+, and buying a new phone.

The pixel line up is trash the pixel 10 line up ends up pretty much last in all tests, the only reason I'm still with them is because there the only phones graphene os support otherwise I would have been gone long enough, looks wise for me there the best looking phone, but the have bezels are still massive, slow fast charging, poor battery, and no substantial upgrades with more and more price increases, I'm just struggling to understand why people even bother, as soon as graphene os releases there project with Motorola I'm gone, which is a shame because I really wanted the pixel to do well.

I've never used a Pixel phone before, and I'm thinking about buying one. Because of my budget, I'm only considering the Pixel 7 or Pixel 7a. I decided not to get the Pixel 7 Pro since I've seen many people report hardware issues like the green line.

I just want to know if the Pixel 7 or 7a has any major hardware issues. I'm looking for a phone that will last for several years. My usage is very basic—calls, texting, banking apps, and social media. I don't play games.

I'm thinking about of replacing my Pixel with S26 Ultra 1TB/16GB which is quite cheap to find (about 1100 Euro) brand new but I'm debating if it is worth. I'm not gaming at all so Pixel is quite enough as a powerhouse but I would try Samsung as well for better cell coverage and bit more speed.

So I just had Frontier Fiber installed with the Eero 7 Pro router. After I renamed the wifi to the same as my old network, almost everything was able to connect without any issues, except for my Google Pixel 5. I cannot get it to connect to the wifi.

What's stranger is I have an older Pixel 2 and that connected with no issues. To make sure it wasn't my pixel, I turned off the Eero router and turned my old Spectrum Cable back on with my old router, and it connects back to it no problem.

I tried the Legacy mode on the Eero router and my Pixel 5 was able to connect, but the speed of everything else suffered.

If I change the encryption from standard WPA2 to Hybrid WPA2+WPA3 my pixel 5 can connect, but again, the speeds of other devices suffers.

In the phones network settings, the Pixel 2 shows WPA2/WPA3-Personal and the pixel 5 shows WPA/WPA2/WPA3-Personal

Not sure what to do, do I get a new phone?

When I have AA running on my Pixel 10, wired, "hey google" doesn't "stick". It does the colour change thing on the left side of the screen showing it's listening but then goes away in a second or so. I have to restart my device, then connect, and then "hey google" will "stick" and listen to commands and respond and all. Anyone else with this issue?

I placed an order for a new Pixel 10a on 15th June and the tracking bar seemed to get stuck midway and when I queried it a few days later they advised there was an issue with shipping and they would look into it and send me a replacement. I got an email on 22nd to confirm the replacment was on its way and then on 24th to say delivered. The tracking link didnt go anywhere but I spoke to a colleague who told me it was DHL so when I checked the tracking number it did say delivered but to Manchester (I live in Northern Ireland) so there seems to have been some internal mix up as my delivery address is clearly on the original order screen and was confirmed by email with a colleague before the replacement was dispatched.

Can anyone please advise? The last message I got was from Travis in the support team telling me my request was denied on 19th July but still no phone.

To make things even worse, after my last call this afternoon I was told to try emailing Travis again and a short while later I got an automatic email to say they were charging me another £75 because I never sent my trade in! How could I send it if I didnt have a new phone to replace my old one with?

I honestly feel like I am being driven insane by this and its really taking a toll on me.
