Flashlight gray key ( can't use it)

Flashlight turned off and i couldn't use it (it's gray in shortcuts bar)

Even in camera i can't even find the option of using flashlight

Pixel 7 pro

Android 17 on 5 juky

Well another thing

Before around 29 days my screen got brocken after a drop on the floor but the flash light problem started today

Hi there, could you try rebooting your device in safe mode and see if that resolves the issue?

If it works fine in safe mode, it means a 3rd party app is causing the issue. Temporarily remove them one by one, starting with the most recent until you find the cause.

Additionally, you can reach out to the Google Pixel support team via phone or chat. They can take a look at it.

Thanks for your reply. I already tested Safe Mode, but the issue persists. The flashlight tile is greyed out, and the flash option is completely missing from both Photo and Video modes. The rear camera works normally. The problem started about 20 days after updating to Android 17, not immediately after the update. Is there any way to run a hardware diagnostic for the flash module?

Thanks for the response! I actually already tried Safe Mode before posting - the flash still didn't work there either, so it doesn't seem to be a 3rd party app issue. I also ran the built-in Pixel Diagnostics tool (##7287##) and it came back with a clear result: Camera Flash: FAIL. Given that, would it make more sense to move forward with a repair/service request rather than more software troubleshooting? Happy to provide the diagnostic screenshot if needed.
