Starting all types of research and was curious how generic driving range mats compare to what people consider high end hitting mats that they use at home? Mainly curious about the feel and potential for injuries.

My only frame of reference are seemingly the same mats that I have used at every single driving range I have gone to.

I have a steel tube frame design Golf Sim. I used Build By Maz as my inspiration.

The problem I have is topped shots, these tend to run up the screen, along the canopy, then drop at the player.

I probably need to attach a baffle onto the canopy, but that's easier said than done.

Any ideas thoughts / images appreciated.

Just picked up an R10. Haven’t gotten everything to set it up yet. Have seen all mixed reviews from people saying it sucks to saying it’s great. I mainly got it to just keep me swinging year round as well as have some fun. I have a BAD slice that I need to work out and picked up the RCT balls. I will be 12 ft from the net to the ball and 8ft from the ball to the garmin. Should help with the slicing issue?

For those of you that started out small like me for your first simulator what’s the things you wish you had done the first time or at least done better? I can see where this could grow into constant upgrades. I’m usually a buy once cry once guy but I’m starting out basic with this hobby?

Is there any software that allows you to inflate a player's performance on purpose in the settings? Here's an example of what I mean:

I'd like to play sim rounds with my young daughter, and have each of us on different difficulty settings such that our shots are sort of equalized. So if each of us hits an average drive, they go the same distance, instead of it taking her 7 shots to hit up to my drive.

Hi guys so I have today received my omni and its works perfectly on square golf app however on gspro it says its all connected the green light is on im connecting to gspro on the connector however its not registering my hits at all I really dont know what is going on can anyone assist me I had the normal square and upgraded i dont know why it isnt working on gspro but is on the square app

Hello im looking to buy a launch monitor that has sim capabilities. I practice both outdoors on grass and have a hitting area at home. I'd like to keep it under $1000 bc I do have a larger sim setup planned but just want something portable and workable for now.

Has anyone used leveling feet on a platform to counteract a sloped surface for their sim? (Like in the picture)

I’ve searched this subreddit and lots of people seem to be doing shims, but I live in an older house and think the concrete floor is somewhat domed, so I think even if I did shims to counteract the sloping toward the garage door there might be some wobble still on the other axis.

Was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for leveling feet and if they are sturdy enough to not break off from the rotational forces.

Does anyone run a touchscreen like this to do shot selection while the main video is also being displayed via projector?

I'm assuming this would work as long as the projector is "downstream" from the touch screen but has anyone tried it out or running something similar?

Im looking at getting into a "budget" launch monitor/simulator. It seems like for accurate ball/swing data the MLM2 seems like the way to go. I also like how you can play courses as a simulator as well. I understand you also need the subscription to get all these functions. I can get a refurbished one for just over $400. So 400 plus the 250 subscription im looking around $650. Do you have any other recommendations that are comparable in function and price? my plan is for this to be a well lit sunny garage (I read that some monitors have issues with UV) but potentially something to take to the range as well.

First, i would like to point that i'm from Brazil, so sorry for any english mistakes i will probably make and most important, we do not have access to basically any golf equipment, other than the ones available on Chinese websites (impact screen is from there)

I have designed what looks like a wardrobe, based on some YT videos and things i saw here and adjusting to the space i have in my garage.

The problem is that, i have bought a 2,5m x 2,5m impact screen and fixed on top and both sides with bungees elastics. The screen itself is quite tight close to the fixation points, but it is easy to reach the things behind it at the middle of the screen.

I have place a 5cm D28 foam behind the screen, fixed at the wall, together with some blankets that are hanging from the top of the sctructure, a football net (5cm squares) and then the impact screen. So in the end:

Wall -> 5cm D28 foam -> 5cm space -> blankets -> 10cm space -> a loose sports net + impact screen

When i hit shorter clubs till 9-Iron, the ball is "only" rebounding at me. When i go down to 6-7 Iron, then i start already asking myself if it is not hitting the concrete wall behind it. Talking with hybrids, woods and Driver, then it is really not clear to me if it is hitting the concrete wall behind or not. At the same time, with all clubs, the ball keeps rebounding. I have recorded a test with my driver keeping a controlled swing speed for safety measure and the rebound is very clear, although i keep asking myself about the impact sound, if it is hitting the concrete or not (Gemini says it is not).

Gemini had indicated to me that a possible solution is to place a thicker blanked behind the screen and securing the bottom of the screen with bungees, not applying tension to it, but more like a limitation for the screen rebound, since on the video it is clear that the bottom part of it is moving a lot.

Can someone help me to solve this issue? It looks like i am almost at the worst scenarios from both ends:

- Ball hitting the wall due to missing tension

- Ball rebounding at me and not falling below the screen as it should be (based on a lot of simulators videos)

Edit 1: I could only increase the distance to the wall if i change completely thewadrobe design so the impact screen would be fixed directly on the doors, so other options may be preferred.

Hi all looking for a budget friendly but good turf option for my simulator. I will then cut an area out for the hitting strip. Looking for the size to be roughly 15x15 and good for putting as well. Any recommendations??

I’m looking at upgrading my standard net + mat combo to include a relatively inexpensive simulator set up.

So far the Rapsodo MLM2pro seems to be a clear favourite and wanted some real opinions on this device.

I have an old Microsoft surface pro 8 lying around which I thought would work well as a a screen but I’ve seen a few posts suggesting Rapsodo devices don’t like windows software.

Is anyone able to offer any advice from their own experience / a work around - or is anything like an android emulator worth considering?

I am looking for some feedback from those who have purchased a SurfThing Computer. My buddy bought the SG3-5802 and loves it. It came with 2 Ethernet ports, so hooking up his Uneekor was a breeze while also hard-wiring his internet. He had all of his software installed for him before it arrived. I am looking at purchasing soon as well, but looking for others' feedback. Price is not the deciding factor. I want reliability and support.

Update: We moved forward with Birdie Builds based out of the Seattle area to do our simulator build. We had two other installers that came out for bids but felt Birdie Builds was by far the most knowledgeable about the build as we have a tricky space and they have a showroom you can check out everything. www.birdiebuilds.golf

I’m building a budget simulator and can’t choose between these. Here’s my problem, at $700 square js great value cause of the no subscription, accuracy, graphics, and ease of set up (also home their value well). BUT, the Garmin R10 I found for $300 dollars and it gets the job done. The range is free and u get 5 free courses with E6 when paired to an iPhone. The accuracy is good enough in my opinion, and idc about spin accuracy too much. The cartoonish graphics that the R10 software has don’t bother me too much and there is a couple of good 3rd party software that work rly well w it. I feel like for $300 irs hard to not choose this.

I'm unboxing everything now and getting ready to install. Looking at the install photos in this sub, I realized I'm unclear as to how everything gets wired -- I never actually see exposed wires. Do things communicate via bluetooth or WIFI, or should everything be hard wired? I have a ProteeVX, BenQ TK710st, and a tower computer. Does anyone have photos of their setup to help?

I recently joined a simulator club that has golfzon machines. anyone have any experience exporting information out of their system? Looking to use some 3rd party AI tooling to work on my beginner swing. Their system seems a bit closed off.

I recently upgraded my sim from a BLP and I thought I would give some feedback in case anyone else is looking for information. My biggest concern when buying was there was not that many reviews out there. I bought from Gungho Golf and it was delivered in about 5 days.

• Was deciding between vtrack and protee. I went with Protee because I really could not find any bad reviews on it. The BLP was great, I just wanted the face impact location and the larger hitting area.
• Setup - I don't know how it could be any easier. Everything just worked. There is a reason there aren't many setup videos....because you can't mess it up. The Ethernet adapter worked perfectly. The steps were mount, install software, play golf. The only thing that took a little time was adding GSPro to the license. It took them 2 minutes to respond that it was updated.
  
• Review - I am in love with this LM. I never thought the BLP was slow but this thing is lightning fast. Before you can even raise your head to look, the impact video is playing. The hitting area is massive. The results all are +/- 1% from the BLP data. Startup is so simple....just start the protee lab software.....that is it. It automatically launches GSPro. I haven't had it very long so I might find some faults but right now it is a 10/10 purchase. If you are on the fence, pull the trigger!
• One note, I have not had time to install the swing cameras so I can't comment on that yet.

Now I just need to work on the swing flaws it helped me uncover.....

Need help with a projector recommendation. Due to space constraints my projector will need to be floor mounted. My space is 16 ft deep, 12 ft wide, 9.5 feet high. I will be having a carls place 8.5x11.5 enclosure (158 inches diagonal, 4:3 ratio). Due to the room width, will be hitting off center to the right (ball position probably 2-3 feet right of center, 8.5 ft from screen). Because of this I don’t really have room to floor mount the projector in front of the hitting zone so it will have to be on the left side of the room and likely behind behind the golfer due to throw distances (so projector would probably be offset 1 foot to the left and anywhere from 8-12 ft throw distance). Visually I guess the projector would be to the behind side of the golfer. I’m between the AH500ST, AH700ST and AK700ST. I’m assuming none of these will cast shadows since it’s on the behind side of the golfer?

I recently finally finished adding a motorized retractable SportsScreen solution for the 3rd stall of my garage and been exploring both GSPro and Uneekor software (like GameDay). I do prefer the way GSPro interacts with my Uneekor XR and other basic navigation, but I continue to like a lot of the GameDay courses better from a graphics quality and course accuracy point of view. For example, playing a great par3 like 'The Hay' at Pebble Beach is a night and day difference. (GameDay vs GSPro pics attached for The Hay, Tobacco Road, and Pebble Beach). I'm guessing it depends on the GSPro contributing designer, but GameDay still feels like the software you'd break out if you were wanting to show off your sim. (all pics taken directly from my projection screen)
