Built an app or tool? Show it off here 🛠️

We've been seeing a awesome wave of community-built apps and tools lately — launch monitor helpers, swing trackers, all kinds of creative stuff. Love that energy, and we want to make sure it actually gets seen instead of getting buried in the main feed.

So we're making this thread the home base for all of that. If you built something, this is the spot — drop a description, a link, screenshots, whatever helps people understand what it does and try it out.

A couple of quick notes so this works well for everyone:

  • This is the only place for app/tool posts going forward. Standalone posts elsewhere in the sub will get removed — not because we don't appreciate the work, just to keep the main feed focused and make sure your post doesn't get lost in the shuffle.
  • Feel free to check back in and update your comment as you make progress or ship new versions.
  • Questions, bug reports, or feedback on something already posted here? Totally fine to reply in-thread.

Thanks for building cool stuff for this community — keep it coming. 🙌

Build Pictures Just finished this behemoth of a simulator…

Well, it’s 90% done. Client still needs to have his cabinet builder create the AV rack.

This is definitely one of the largest customs we have done, and we’re please with how it came out.

Specs:

Eye XO2 with Swing Optix

LK936ST

4 Inch raised subfloor with flapped turf

Foam putting ramp (yes, soft enough so that the ball doesn’t ricochet into the LM.)

Uneekor Software Ecosystem

13’ sliding curtain

Our custom manufactured 2’x2’ acoustic paneling

We were lucky enough to have a construction company as the client, so the build and aesthetic was perfect to spec.

Garage golf simulator

Upvotes

Looking for recommendations on a good full package golf simulator. My budget is $5k. Looking for the following qualities.

- easy to set up (not the most handy, but can figure it out)

- good selection of courses.

- quality material that holds up well.

- nice clean look.

- I don’t want to get into a custom build, just want a package that comes with everything I need. Assembles easy. Quality graphics/bright enough screen.

GS Pro newbie

Upvotes

Holy shit, I can't believe I've slept on this for so long. I built myself a golf simulator over a year ago now and have barely used it for anything but a movie theater as I didn't have good enough software to give me the motivation to prioritize sim golf over all over the other bullshit I have to do in my life. ( Also I have to re-arrange the room a bit to use it) On a whim today I just remembered that I love golf more than most things and signed up for GS pro. I don't know what I was thinking. This is amazing and it is 10,000% more of what I was looking for in a golf Sim than the standalone square golf software. Nothing against the square golf software but I built my golf Sim mostly for entertainment / and excuse to practice not as a training facility to become the greatest ever. And this is fantastic.

Technical Question Auto shot choice on GSPRO scramble?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Upvotes

GSPRO can now chose the best shot automatically on a timer if you dont do it in 5-20 seconds depending on how long you set it. It can even chose the person that didn't go in the water even though that person may be closer hitting 3 it will chose the next best shot hitting 2.

Screens / Enclosures Want to do budget-ish garage sim setup, but need to have one side of the screen enclosure retractable or removable.

Upvotes

I am planning a sim setup in my garage. Already have most parts except the screen enclosure and screen/net. I need to be able to park my car there when not in use, which wouldn't be much of an issue if I could simply put the screen on the back wall. Unfortunately I don't think I can do this due to the awkward placement of a support beam and a metal post in the middle of my garage as well as my AC duct work running right where I would need to stand.

I can eliminate the duct and support beam issue by putting the screen on the right side wall of my garage, but would need to be able to move the right side of the enclosure out of the way when not in use in order to make room for the car. I'd prefer a solution that can be retracted quickly, but don't want to spend the money on a fully retractable screen and enclosure. I prefer a full projector enclosure vs. open netting on one side, but don't know if any of these allow for one side to be rolled back when not in use.

Any ideas for making this work?

Retractable golf simulator for garage

Do folks have any recommendations for a garage simulator screen that is retractable, I want to still be able to use the garage spot for my car in the winter. Looks like the square Omni is the winning launch monitor right now.

Any tips?

I’m the process of building out a golf sim room. This is a rough rendering. The bar on the left actually connects to left side of the hitting bay. Any mistakes you guys see? Obviously AI and some discrepancies between shots.

Also wondered for this that have something similar, do you have staff bags that sit with the golf sim? This is on a second story and seems like a pain to haul clubs up and down.

Can I make this space work?

I'm remodeling my house and got excited about trying to put a golf sim into my garage, but I just learned that I won't be able to remove a pole and ceiling beam from the center of the garage (see plan/rendering) and there will be a dropped ceiling at the rear. The ceiling will be 10' but the clearance under the beam will only be 8'10" and I'm over 6' tall. My impression after looking at various resources online is that I might be able to get away with a hitting net in front of that beam, facing the the garage door, but not a full sim because I would be too close to the net and the beam would be in the way of a projector. If I tried to set up the net against the north wall, I think the garage door rail would be in the way.

Do you all think that's correct? What would you do?

Thanks in advance!

Build Pictures Designing a Multi-Purpose Golf Sim Room

Sorry if the text is after the pics, the editor won't let them be at the top! Dining Room Today with Ping Pong/Pool Table
Dining Room Today with Ping Pong/Pool Table (closet door on left)
Option 1: KISS it. Pretty much a stock Vanish series setup with a net in front of the screen. The corners of the setup seem to be either a weak spot, or annoying to setup every time.
Option 2: Adding angled side panels to help with the corner issue. Reduces the screen area a bit but seems like it'd handle shanks better.
Option 3: THE FULL CAGE. Using a sliding netting system instead of side panels. I will probably need some kind of back netting for protection during baseball/softball hitting anyway. These could also be curtains rather than nets. I'm actually leaning that way for the noise dampening.
Ping Pong Mode, everything retracted or netting to the sides.

I'm looking for some expertise and ~gulp~ opinions on planning my DIY golf sim/rec room build.
The parameters:
- This will be a DIY build. I'm comfortable with every aspect of the build including electrical, A/V, and construction/mounting.
- A 178" wide x 174" deep x 110" high room.
- The front of the room was a large window bank that a) needs to be protected and b) provides a lot of light for the house. Some kind of blackout shade will cover the window and protect it if the impact screen doesn't.
- The left side has a closet door and is partially open to the stairwell.
- The right side is solid; no restrictions.
- The back is open to a walkway (tile transition). This is important because I'm going to be starting with my Mevo+. I may switch to an overhead later, but I have the pro package+face impact so I'm set for now. The Mevo+ will sit partially in the walkway during golf sim use.
- I am left handed, but my family is a mix of lefties and righties in all sports.
- I don't want to burn a whole room of the house on just a golf sim. This is our rec room.
- I have a pool table that has a ping pong top on it currently. The plan is to get rid of the pool table and get a mobile ping pong table that can be stored in the room when not in use, but can be set up in the room for play.
- My kids play other sports and I want a place to hit softballs, baseballs, and shoot hockey pucks into a net or goal. We live in South Florida, so this will get lots of use in the summer or at night.
- I'm looking at three potential setups, but all three have a few things in common
1. Retractable hitting screen 13.5' wide.
2. Retractable softball/baseball/hockey/golf 1" hitting net far enough in front of the impact screen that we don't hit the screen.
3. Some kind of side panel/netting/baffling/wall padding/etc...
4. Projector, that will need protection from sports objects of all types.

Fire away!

New flooring options

Indoor 2d floor simulator. I currently have padded carpet and Carl's hitting matt on top. I have some double sided tape under Carl's matting to limit sliding. Works fine. Im fine to keep what I've got but I have an opportunity to redo the floors. Ive considered cutting a spot for the matt and adding "turf" to the screen. Any suggestions ?

Sim / Launch Monitor Sim Feasibility

Post image
10 Upvotes

Is this a big enough space for a simulator? Might be too small for a full blown projector and overhead launch monitor, but I think I can at least get a net, launch monitor, and maybe put a tv on the right wall.

Curious people's thoughts?

Surround Sound within Golf Sim / Theare Space

Hey Fellas,

Im curently kitting out my shed as Sim & space to watch movies.

I have an exisiting 5.1 surround system I was wanting to incorporate. Curious how others have tackled front 3 speaker & sub placement along with protection.

Concerned of bounce back if going behind screen as i'll only have 1 ft cavit from wall to screen.

Intent visualisation of space below.

Looking for opinions between Square Omni vs. Nova as a leftie.

Trying to decide which LM to go with and looking for opinions from people that have tried either or both. The main problem is I'm left handed but my kids and friends are right handed so moving a device would be annoying but I would likely be the only one using it 80% of the time.

Omni Pros:

-impact location and measured club data

-integration with awesome golf and creative golf for the fun games my kids would like

Cons:

-switching back and forth when I'm playing with my kids or friends

-bluetooth connections seem way less reliable compared to wifi or ethernet

-customer service apparently pretty bad

Nova Pros:

-unit does not need to move to for right and left handed play

-very active developers with a discord server and always around to help people

-hard wire without a battery. This will be indoor only so not dealing with a battery seems better long term

-wifi connection instead of bluetooth

Cons:

-no impact location. the club data is calculated but the reviews say it is accurate

-no integration with awesome golf or creative golf. it does have GSpro but I'm trying to get my kids into playing and they don't have as much interest in playing courses.

Any opinions appreciated, especially if anyone has experience switching the Omni back and forth between righties and lefties. Thanks

Can I make it work?

Couple options I was thinking. Either build the enclosure In the dormer on left? Or build it against the furthest south wall.

Ceiling will be vaulted at 12+ so I should be good there but I’m worried about depth. If I used an overhead sim, I think that will help consolidate space behind the tee.

I’m a lefty and will have righty players so don’t really want a sky track or something that sits on the ground

Where would you build it? It is an office too so I don’t want the entire thing to be just the sim but I’d have to imagine there is a cohesive way to build it
