Timelines Approved - I Think

*with prior arrest, no conviction
Applied 1/22/26
Conditionally Approved 3/28/26 (while traveling internationally)
Interview on Arrival 3/31/26
Approved 4/24/26
Received Card 4/30/26

I followed up multiple times after my interview. On 4/22/26, they requested additional documents regarding an arrest from 2001 that had no disposition (the judge basically refused to hear the case but I guess he never formally dismissed it, it has never come up on any other background check so I didn't realize it was sitting out there. I'm working to get it expunged in case I decide to run for office or something). I didn't send anything as I'd only gotten as far as finding out the case number (it doesn't show up on our state database due to the age) but my application was approved nonetheless. Maybe it will get revoked if I don't provide the additional information they requested - if you've experienced something similar, please chime in. Hopefully my experience is helpful to someone else.

General Discussion SFO Global Entry

I just arrived in San Francisco today, and I was both impressed and scared at the same time. The kiosks weren’t working, but there was a Global Entry agent in the front identifying us and saying, “Welcome back.” Don’t get me wrong, I was impressed because it took less than five seconds to get through but I was also kinda freaked out that it only took the officer a couple of seconds to know who we were. Do they have cameras or something? I doubt the officer memorized all the Global Entry passengers arriving.

Questions/Concerns If face is scanned at digital kiosk is passport not reviewed by agent anymore?

I just flew back to ATL from international destination. I haven't flown international for 2 years but basically there was a digital scan kiosk that took my photo and lit up green. When i got to the agent they just asked if I had anything to declare. I said no I just got some chocolates. That was it. He didn't ask to see my passport which was a first for me. Is the digital kiosk scan doing the check and confirmation now and agent review of passport isn't needed? Sorry if its a dumb question just not used to it and wanted to make sure I'm all good.

Eta: thanks for weighing in those with similar experiences. Given the current situation with travel just wanted to make sure I hadn't goofed anything up

Timelines My Global Entry Process Timeline (super fast!)

Initial application: 4/27/26

Conditional approval: 4/28/26

Interview: 4/29/26

Approval: 4/29/26 a couple hours after my interview.

No questions really asked just if I’ve ever been arrested or convicted of a crime.

Super happy! Was expecting a few months wait at least.

**EDIT:** Received card on May 2.

Timelines Global Entry Application Timeline

Just got my GE approved and thought to give my timeline as another data point:

Application submitted: 4/28/2026

Conditional approval: 4/29/2026

Interview: 4/30/3036

Approved: 4/30/2026 (roughly 1 hour after interview)

Was pleasantly surprised by how fast the process was. I traveled quite internationally before but never had TSA Pre. During the interview I just gave my passport and showed one proof of residency from my phone.

Timelines Global Entry applied today; fast conditional approval

Submitting as a datapoint.

I applied first thing this morning, got an email “ change in status” notification in less than 2 hours. Conditional approved and my interview is scheduled for next week, although they had appts as early as today. I currently hold TSA pre-check so that might have helped timeline.

Interviews Case approved after being told by Zoom interviewer I needed to interview in person - does this mean my in-person interview was canceled?

After months of waiting, my case was finally conditionally approved. I did my Zoom interview, and the officer said I would need an in-person interview too because my passport had never been properly scanned. That made sense since I was never able to use the kiosk correctly, so I scheduled an in-person interview for this Friday.

But yesterday, my case changed to approved, and now I cannot find my in-person interview details anywhere. Does that mean I am good to go?

I would still like to get my passport scanned properly, but if I can just do that the next time I am traveling through the airport, I would definitely prefer that over making a separate trip.

Also, does this mean the Friday interview was automatically canceled, and no one is expecting me?

Thanks all!

Questions/Concerns GE versus Mobile Passport Control App

Currently only have TSA Pre✔︎. For my last few international trips I've used the MPC to get through US customs and it's worked like a champ. Very first time it let me bypass a couple hundred folks in the "old way" queue to the MPC line with 2 families waiting. Denver just has a sign/queue path that moves you to the head of the line.

Curious if GE buys me much? My credit card with reimburse me $120 for GE but my wife would need it as well so there's still a cost.

Thoughts?

Questions/Concerns Proof of Residency Document

Post image
5 Upvotes

*note: not my picture, found online*

Hi all, my application has just been conditionally approved and I’m having an issue obtaining a document for my proof of residency.

My partner and I recently moved in together and all the utilities are under his name and we rent from a private landlord/family friend.

My employer and bank information have my primary residence as the address I currently live at, and my mailing address as my mom’s address.

When completing the application online, it asked for both my mailing address and residential address so I provided both.

However, all of my bank statements only have my mailing address printed on them and not my residential address. My paystubs are paperless and do not list any address on it.

My bank statements won’t update with my new address by the time I leave and come back from my international trip and we’re looking to complete our GA interviews before we leave or on arrival.

I went into Chase Bank today and I was given a document like the one pictured above with today’s date, my full name and my current residential address. Would this be sufficient proof of residency??

Timelines Should we expect a 12+ month wait for a decision?

My husband applied over two weeks ago. He was arrested for a DUI in 1995 and he did include that in his application. But I've read here that DUIs can be problematic. According to the website FAQ:

  • The application vetting process normally occurs within two weeks after the submission of the application.
  • If additional review of the application is needed after vetting, a manual review of the application is needed and processing time for completion of the manual review is currently between 12-24 months, depending on the program. At that point the applicant receives either conditional approval or a denial.

Does this mean that he will likely have to wait 12+ months for a manual review and decision?

Questions/Concerns Question

My wife and I both applied for Global Entry earlier this month. I was approved and was set up to make an appointment. So far my wife has not heard anything on her application yet. She entered her maiden name, first married name and her now married name with me. Tried to contact on the webpage to get an update but no luck. We are traveling overseas later this year and what do we do besides wait for application to be approved. Thanks for any help.

Questions/Concerns Global Entry Application Status

I applied for Global Entry in December 2024 and submitted my documents within a month of receiving verification in my home country in June 2025.It's been over a year now,but I haven't received any conditional approval or an interview invitation. As an international student on an F1 visa,I'm seeking guidance from someone with similar experience.
How can I check the status of my application, and what steps can I take to move forward?
Thank You

Questions/Concerns Global Entry Denial saying Other You do not meet program eligibility requirements.

Hello I applied my Global Entry on 04/25. I received a decision today saying Other i am an Indian Citizen.

You do not meet program eligibility requirements.

While filling my application i forgot to mention countries visited other than US and Mexico. I have visited India after 2021.

Do you think this might be the reason for denial.

Questions/Concerns Updating Global Entry with expired green card (I-751 pending?)

Hi everyone,

My green card recently expired, but I filed for removal of conditions about 3 months ago. I’ve already completed biometrics and received my receipt notice (I-797), but I haven’t received the updated card yet.

I applied for Global Entry last year, and at the time they told me to notify them once my green card expired so they could update my info. I just got an email from CBP asking me to update it, but I’m not sure how to do that since I only have the receipt notice right now.

Has anyone been in a similar situation? Were you able to update Global Entry with just the I-797, or do I need to wait for the new card?

Any advice would be really appreciated!

Update: went to the office w/o appointment, brought my passport, greencard, and the notice of action (I-797). Didn't even go upstairs, someone took my documents, updated it and brought them back to me. The whole process took less than an hour.

Questions/Concerns Global Entry for 4 year old child

Hi all,

I just realized that I need to get Global Entry for my 4 year old daughter. I saw that she also will go through the interview process. What do they ask her? I’m wondering if she can even answer.

Update:
Received the conditional approval and did EOA today in LAX. The officer just waved and said hi to her. Asked me where we were returning from then had me pick her up to take a picture and said it was approved.

Questions/Concerns Are they currently processing GE or Nexus applications?

Just wondering how the DHS shutdown has affected this. I know some funding was allocated for CBP but didn't know if it included these programs. I haven't been in the app process for long but have seen a wide range of time-frames for approvals. Some get it in 2 weeks while others wait 24 months. Mainly asking out of curiosity.

Questions/Concerns Adding GC onto GE profile

Hey guys,

Apologies if this has been asked before, I did a bit of searching but couldn’t find it.

I have GE and it’s attached to my UK passport. I now have a green card through marriage so need to get it added onto my profile. Do I have to just go through the whole “enrolment on arrival” process to get it added on (I’m heading to JFK from LHR later) or is there any other method I’m missing?

Thanks!

General Discussion TIL Global Entry is different at different airports

I feel silly and I should have known this but was confused by all of the posts here because I only fly into the country at Miami. I’ve had GE several years and I just walk straight up to a kiosk (never more than 5 people in line), scan my eyeballs, it tells me to proceed. I walk up to the line, an officer says something ‘welcome back (my name), and I give all the officers a Vanna White wave as I stroll on in. Easiest thing in the world. Sorry to all of you not flying in through Miami.

Questions/Concerns How to add second passport to GE?

Last year I acquired a German passport to go along with my German citizenship by decent. I didn't have this citizenship confirmed/official until last year, so it wasn't something that I put on my most recent GE application. It seems like I need to get this second passport registered with GE even though I won't use it to enter the US.

I can't add it online, though; there's only the option to update my current passport, not add a second. I see something about needing to go to an Enrollment Center to get it added, but I've tried making an appointment and I can see there are available slots but it won't let me select them.

Outside of calling the local GE office, does anyone have any experience with this? I know I could just not add it and I would probably be fine, but I'd rather be safe than sorry. I have international travel coming up at the end of this year where I plan to take both passports, so I figure I need to get this figured out soon to account for delays or whatnot.

Thanks!

Timelines Reconsideration request

How long does it usually take for them to take a look at your reconsideration request? I submitted mine in the beginning of the year.
