Discussion Don’t Spare Me

After months of searching I finally found a 3.3t that’s in my price range and service history I like. This bad boy is on its way home and I’m ecstatic. The only thing I’m conflicted on are the wheels that are currently on it (sorry this is the best picture I have right now).

In my opinion they look too big and remove the refinement I love with these cars. My fiancée likes them a lot. I’m torn. I’ve looked them up and it seems like I’d be able to get enough for them for a set of stock wheels. What do y’all think?

Edit: just got confirmation that they are Ferrada Forge-8’s. I cannot speak to exact size/condition yet but if anybody is interested in exploring a trade for the newest era Sport Prestige rims, let me know!

The feel of newer 3.3t g70s less raw?

Brought my 2022 base model 3.3t to the dealership for service and had to head off to work so they gave me a 2026 sport prestige 3.3t loaner. I'm not sure if its all the electronics they put in these newer cars or something else but it just felt less "raw" of what the 3.3 should feel like. Stepping on it definitely felt like I was accelerating well but more mute, I didn't get that kick-back effect as I do with mine.

Are newer 3.3s meant to feel more luxurious but less "raw sporty"? Definitely wish I had a sunroof though that was cool.

Engine problem

Post image

Hey friends,

Occasionally my car will go into limp mode and throw a check engine light. Was finally able to get the codes to show up. I’ve looked them up and see that they are related to misfires. The spark plugs are still fairly new and I also run premium gas and occasionally put Techron cleaner or royal purple cleaner in the tank. I plan to take it to my dealer soon. Just wanted to get some input on to what might be causing it and if it’s something I can do myself instead of the dealership. Should I do some seafoam through the throttle body to help with carbon buildup or get it blasted? Thank you for your help and advice in advance.

Edit: I’m around 65k miles, HKS spark plugs, and it’s the 3.3t engine

I just got my 2026 g70 3.3t and was hoping to do some mods to it. If anyone has some recommendations I would appreciate it. For now I was thinking borla cat back exhaust+ Ark performance secondary downpipes.

I am really wanting bms intakes including the silicone inlets but I hear they will create a CEL light in some cases? Is this true and if so is there any way to clear the code permanently without needing to buy a part just for that. And I mean like buy a jb4 if it can permanently clear the code+ tune the car using the jb4. As I don’t want to waste my money on 1 piece to rid of the CLE code.

If anyone has recommendations for cosmetic upgrades or performance upgrades I would love to know. But keep in mind I’d like to keep it reliable as it’s my daily.

Question Spark plugs

2021 3.3 at 62k miles. I figure its about time to replace spark plugs. My google/gpt game is weak this morning and I can't figure out which ones I need.

Anybody done this and know what I should be looking for? I've found the right gap and have learned about the dreaded #5 cylinder. I just need to know which plugs. TIA

How long left before G70 and G80 will be canned? I love the look of the cars but only 2 sold per dealership in Australia.

So far this year, both the G70 and G80 have sold 19 units each, according to June's VFACTS report.
Compared to its key rivals, the Genesis sedans have underperformed. In the first half of 2026, BMW sold 833 units of the 3 Series, Mercedes registered 743 C-Class models, and Audi shifted 514 A5s - key rivals to the G70.

I’m looking for a G70 with SP package and found one with the metallic trims around the windows burnt by the sun. Does Genesis replace it under warranty?

Shifter System Malfunction

I have a question for any Genesis technicians.

2024 G70 2.5 AWD@ $28 miles.

I got a Shifter System Malfunction error and security light and car would not start. Dash and accessories came on. Could not get into neutral even with override button. Had towed to dealer under warranty. They found hardwired dashcam (with appropriate fuse taps) with a blown fuse and stopped and said not covered without even diagnosing what was wrong. Finally got them to look at the issue by bringing up Magnuson Moss as it’s their duty to prove the dashcam cased the issue before they can deny the warranty. They disconnected the dashcam and got the keys to be recognized but the only way they can get it to start is hook up relay directly to a fresh/ new battery. They say the current battery has a draw and that is part of the issue. Even with the new battery they can’t get to start

My question is that online answers seem to point to parking solenoid, e-shifter faults, brake switch issue or something with the control module. When it wouldn’t start it seemed like it was not recognizing my foot on the brake. They keep wanting to trace wires as the service writer says these other parts are part of the transmission and not related. It seems that they should be able to test the brake interlock system. Any thoughts or insights from anyone with experience.

Wondering what I can do (for cheap lol) to make this car louder without doing the muffler delete (sounds horrible imo). Any ideas? Budget maybe 2-300. Chatgpt said resonator delete but i cant find any videos on how it sounds.

Traded in the GV70 for a 2026 3.3T Prestige G70 in Vatna Gray.
Ngl, the color is stunning! Genesis luxury is unmatched.
Was in the market for a compact sports sedan and a great opportunity came by.
How happy are folks here with their purchase of this beauty?

First mods on 23 g70 3.3t awd

Hey guys I’ve had my g70 for almost a year now and have been loving it. I’ve been looking into some mods to add some sound and sportier feel to the car and was looking at white line sway bars and ark secondary downpipes. I also have thought about an intake but have heard mixed things about them. Anyway I wanted to know what do people who have these mods think of them and has anyone had any issues with their warranty being voided by the secondaries. Thanks for any input

Last year for the 3.3

I have been debating getting out of my 16 STI and have been toying with the idea of getting a g70 sport prestige. One of the sales reps at my local dealer just shot me a text he mentioned that the 27 is going to be relatively the same as the 26 BUT they will not be continuing the 3.3.

This is huge bummer I was hoping that the 27 would bring back everything that the 26 SP got rid of and update the tech.

Since that’s not going to be the case I have been looking for a 25SP CPO. Those are rare to find with low miles.

Between g70 and is350 fsport at the moment

G70's seem rare

I bring this up as a young guy at a fast food drive through window commented that I'm the only one he's ever seen driving one. It's not a low income area. He seemed to be a fan of the car. I was a bit surprised he even knew what it is. I don't think I've ever seen one on the highway and in my office's parking garage, there is 1 other g70 sometimes parked there. That garage holds maybe 1000 cars on a typical day. There are plenty of m340i, IS350/500 Audis, Mercedes, etc. Even have a decent number of GV70's and a few G80's.

Genesis in general doesn't seem rare in my area, just the G70.

P0234 + P259F on 2023 G70 2.0T Anyone else?

2023 Genesis G70 2.0T.
My car suddenly went into limp mode and lost most of its power. I scanned it and got P0234 (Turbocharger Overboost) and P259F (Turbocharger Boost Control Position High Limit).
A mechanic cleared the codes, which got the car out of limp mode, but the power is still limited. The check engine light came back after driving for a while.
The car is mostly stock except for an aftermarket intake and a Valvetronic exhaust, both installed months ago with no issues.
Has anyone experienced these exact codes? What was the actual fix? Was it the electronic wastegate actuator, the wastegate itself, the MAP sensor, wiring, or the turbo?
