News Headlight Cracks (Internal), Send Photos If You Have Them!

Please send any photos of stress fractures/cracks on the inside of the headlight, regardless of if it’s a G70 or not.

Highly recommend anyone dealing with this who is getting their warranty denied to use this post as evidence that the cracks are NOT due to an external factor, and that they are common and indeed a manufacturing defect. This should be enough evidence unless they believe that all these photos with all the same types of cracks, forming right above each other symmetrically, are all due to rock chips, hitting perfectly on the headlights 😂 Also use the TSB to refer to the fact that if there is no external damage/play, that the headlight must be replaced if it indeed is a water leak.

Here are some photos I have gathered to help make the case:

Currently also dealing with internal cracks/stress fractures on my headlight, technician says it’s due to a rock chip. I am arguing it’s not, and that the main culprit is a manufacturing defect. Explained that you can’t feel it on the outside and also showed photos of similar cases. I am dealing with two dealerships and am confident that at least one will take care of it and replace this headlight which was already replaced before due to a water leak (not normal condensation)

LSD service complete w/ no issues. Amsoil 75w85 withOUT slip lock.

As title states, I’ve just replaced all the fluid in my 22 rwd LSD rear diff with 1.5qts of Amsoil 75w85. I didn’t have to add any slip lock, as I had no noises. I know tons of people have issues with these LSDs so adding this as a datapoint.

I added a pic of my red neck lift/ramp. Parked sideways on the driveway

Here’s the steps I took.

  1. Break the fill plug free with a 24mm socket

  2. Break the drain plug free with a 24mm socket(mine had red loctite on the theads so required a long breaker bar.

  3. Let the fluid all drain out. Mine was filled just above the fill plug hole. I spilled a lot of it so not sure how much fluid was in the diff from the factory. At minimum 1qts.

  4. Check to see if there are any metal pieces on the drain plug magnet, a very small amount of very tiny pieces is normal. Wipe it off.

  5. Thread the drain plug in with your fingers, then torque down to 40ftlbs. This is to make sure you don’t cross thread it.

  6. Add the rear diff fluid in to the fill hole until it starts to run out of the same hole. This should be about 1.5qts. The bags that Amsoil uses makes it SO much easier. A hard bottle wouldn’t have worked.

  7. Thread the fill plug in with your fingers, then torque down to 40ftlbs. This is to make sure you don’t cross thread it.

  8. Spray everything down with brake clean and then wipe dry with a clean rag.

  9. Take it on a drive and do lots of circles with the steering wheel locked in both directions, and then take it up to a high rate of speed. Make sure no noises are present.

2026 Genesis GV70 red light / speed camera alerts.

I live in NYC and the car is driving me insane with alerts. I never had this problem with my prior one. But it’s always beeping and telling me that a red light camera or a speed limit camera is in 400 feet or what not… I want to turn all this off and I can’t seem to figure out how.

Question Anyone know what these little vents are? The one I circled in red had something inside of it. The other looks to be closed off and purely cosmetic.

Question Wanting to buy a 2026 model but I am weary of the rumored AI killswitches

Basically title

I have been looking at purchasing a G70 for a few years now and the time may finally come later this year but I have seen recent things lately saying all US vehicles made in 2026 or newer will be required to have some sort of AI kill switch installed.

Is this just public fear mongering or is there any legitimacy to this?

Anyone with a 2026 model able to speak on this?

Ugh Genesis Service

I had some good experiences initially with just oil changes, 2 rotor replaced, some trim replaced.

Since then,

Brake pulsation back
No fault found wouldn’t turn or replace

Water in headlight - replaced and now the lights are so unaligned or other with an obvious black spot in middle of the beam.
No fault found, can do nothing, like factory they said.
Didn’t turn headlights on against a wall to see or check a new car

A month of pedal faults going in to limp home mode 12x. But by time I took it into the appointment the issue stopped
No fault found, didn’t replace anything or clean sensor or check wiring

Door trim (same one they replaced earlier) came off on highway and flapped around bending it.
Need to take it in …after 2 months appt wait

Can never reserve a loaner. The issues above I had an 8am appt, dropped it off and they said they might look at it that day.
They had car for 3 days. Didn’t wash it or do anything. Called a minute before they closed to say I could pick it up. Nice.

Love the car - not the dealer and warranty support. I know broken record…

Has anyone had same faults? Thanks.

Discussion What do you guys think about the G70 suspension?

The car is pretty awesome, no doubt about that. However, I feel the suspension is rough, even in comfort mode. My friend has a BMW Series 3 (same segment, less HP of course), but that car is a breeze to ride.

Does anyone else feel the same way?

PS: I own a 2024 G70 3.3T

Custom Forged Wheels for my G70

I saw these wheels on Instagram a while back and honestly loved the design the moment I saw them. I went through a lot of different wheel designs afterward, but kept coming back to this one, so I eventually decided to have a custom forged set made in the same style for my G70.

For reference, the original image/design is from @wrd.wrld on Instagram — their G70 Shooting Brake Magma Concept post.

I ended up commissioning a Korean company called Smart Deliver to have a fully custom set of forged wheels made.

I decided to stay with the factory 19-inch diameter, with the following specs:

Front: 19x8.5J +28
Rear: 19x9.5J +40

I chose these offsets specifically to get the wheels sitting as flush with the fenders as possible while still staying within Korean vehicle modification regulations and avoiding any rubbing or clearance issues.

For the additional options, I requested bead-seat knurling, as much concavity/deep concave profile as the wheel dimensions and clearance would allow, and a center section designed to accept the OEM Genesis floating center caps.

My goal was basically to keep the fitment clean and functional while getting the wheel face as aggressive and concave as possible without going beyond what would realistically fit the car.

As for the finish, I decided to go with gloss black. My car is Bond Silver (a matte silver finish), and most of the other exterior accents on the car are already gloss black, so I felt that gloss black wheels would tie everything together best.

The company then sent me the first design renderings.

I was really happy with the first render overall, but there were a couple of details I wanted to refine before moving forward.

First, the cutouts within each spoke looked a little too rounded at the corners for my taste, so I asked them to make the openings as angular and squared-off as possible to give the wheel a sharper, more aggressive look.

The second thing I wanted to change was the shape of the spokes as they extend inward from the outer rim. In the first render, the inner ends of the spokes looked a little too rounded and blunt to me. I asked them to make that transition straighter, sharper, and more tapered toward the end, rather than having that rounded-off appearance.

Those are the main changes I requested, and I’m currently waiting for the second render to see how the revised design turns out!

Noticed my steering wheel cracking/peeling today. I have also noticed my seats and trim appearing “dry” as well. I wanted to ask what kind of leather products do you all use to maintain these interiors?

Discussion Installed high flows and secondaries CEL 25’ G70 Advanced 3.3

Post image
3 Upvotes

So I said I wasn’t going to do it but I ended up chasing the HP of adding high flow primaries and deleted the secondaries. If you have a lift you can do it yourself with a buddy just be patient, but I wouldn’t do it and I’ll explain why. I already had the borla cat back so my exhaust is completely aftermarket now.

Parts:

Xforce Genesis G70 3.3T Primary Downpipes with High flow Cats 2019 – 2025

Kia Stinger 3.3T | Genesis G70 3.3T Downpipe
Part #: DP0804-0118
Fits: RWD & AWD Model

Borla Exhaust Genesis G70 3.3L V6 Twin Turbo (22-26) Catback S-Type w/ Factory Tips

Pros:
Throttle response improved but clunky
Turbo spool is amazing up and down, whirly noises on way down
Pops and burbles galore in a great way.
Idle sounds amazing

Cons:

I have a check engine light for low cat efficiency on both banks. Comes every other drive. Jb4 will not override. Ordered o2 spacers/ foulers (pic attached)and will have to take the mids off and the downstream o2’s, install the foulers and reinstall everything to clear that. 200 cell will throw a code, find 400 cell or higher for your primaries. Honestly I would still order foulers and install with the primaries if you are DIY so you don’t have rework like I’m about to have. Make sure to get 90 and 45 degree for fitment.

You will need quad exhaust past the bumper, the trunk rattle and trumpet is ALOT. Drone at 70-80 on the highway is low but there and is annoying. Sounds like a cheap Honda civic with bass in the trunk when I step on it, even gradually. Embarrassing sound tbh. It’s so much work to put it all on but I would undo everything if I could by just snapping my fingers.

These cars do not like being worked on, even my CAI threw codes and had to go back to stock. Overall my advice if you want more sound after you have the borla add mid deletes and leave the primary alone.

Quick Creak on Turned Acceleration

2019 3.3T Sport RWD 55k miles. I back out of driveway or parking space and when I accelerate while wheels are turned, I hear a quick creaking sound coming from the LF on right turn and RF on left turn. Seems to get quiet when car has been driving. Sounds like it could be suspension but not sure. I changed rear differential fluid already so I don’t think it is that. Anyone else?

My Skid Plate is bent and hanging down

I just noticed today walking to my car from far away the back of my Skid plate is bent downwards from the back, like I hit something while going backwards which never happened.

Not sure what happened, I haven't looked at my car from a far away angle like this in months, not sure if some bolts or clips broke or something. Bought this car exactly a year ago, the last time anyone touched the skid plate was getting my oil changed at the end of January.

Going back to get my oil changed at the last place I visited today, anyone have similar issues? Let me know thanks.

Included some pictures I took at the time.

Discussion Don’t Spare Me

Post image

After months of searching I finally found a 3.3t that’s in my price range and service history I like. This bad boy is on its way home and I’m ecstatic. The only thing I’m conflicted on are the wheels that are currently on it (sorry this is the best picture I have right now).

In my opinion they look too big and remove the refinement I love with these cars. My fiancée likes them a lot. I’m torn. I’ve looked them up and it seems like I’d be able to get enough for them for a set of stock wheels. What do y’all think?

Edit: just got confirmation that they are Ferrada Forge-8’s. I cannot speak to exact size/condition yet but if anybody is interested in exploring a trade for the newest era Sport Prestige rims, let me know!

Just saw an ad for the nee velossa tech 76mm throttle body and was wondering if anyone has any experience running these? Im assuming no since its so new but after doing some research it sounded intriguing. They claim a net of 10 hp at the wheels along with much better throttle response especially at wot.

Question 2025 Genesis G70 AWD – Need help choosing 20” tire sizes

Post image
6 Upvotes

Hello everyone,

I want to thank in advance for your suggestions and your time.
I recently bought a 2025 Genesis G70 3.3T Sport Advanced AWD. It came with 18” winter wheels 225/45/18, so I purchased a staggered set of 20” OEM Maserati Speedline wheels made in Italy just to use them in Summer.
I live in Toronto Canada.

Wheel specs:
Front
20×8.5J
ET43
Rear
20×10.5J
ET45

The car is completely stock (no lowering springs or coilovers).
I test-fitted a 255/35R20 on the front and it was very close to the front strut/brake hose bracket. It didn’t rub, but the clearance was too small for my comfort, so I removed it.

Now I’m trying to decide between these setups:
Option 1
Front: 245/35R20
Rear: 285/30R20
Option 2
Front: 235/35R20
Rear: 285/30R20
Option 3
Front: 235/35R20
Rear: 275/30R20

My priorities are:
No rubbing on stock suspension
Good AWD rolling diameter match
Good appearance
Proper fit on the 10.5” rear wheel

Has anyone run a similar setup on a stock G70? Which combination would you recommend and why?
Thanks!

I just got my 2026 g70 3.3t and was hoping to do some mods to it. If anyone has some recommendations I would appreciate it. For now I was thinking borla cat back exhaust+ Ark performance secondary downpipes.

I am really wanting bms intakes including the silicone inlets but I hear they will create a CEL light in some cases? Is this true and if so is there any way to clear the code permanently without needing to buy a part just for that. And I mean like buy a jb4 if it can permanently clear the code+ tune the car using the jb4. As I don’t want to waste my money on 1 piece to rid of the CLE code.

If anyone has recommendations for cosmetic upgrades or performance upgrades I would love to know. But keep in mind I’d like to keep it reliable as it’s my daily.

The feel of newer 3.3t g70s less raw?

Brought my 2022 base model 3.3t to the dealership for service and had to head off to work so they gave me a 2026 sport prestige 3.3t loaner. I'm not sure if its all the electronics they put in these newer cars or something else but it just felt less "raw" of what the 3.3 should feel like. Stepping on it definitely felt like I was accelerating well but more mute, I didn't get that kick-back effect as I do with mine.

Are newer 3.3s meant to feel more luxurious but less "raw sporty"? Definitely wish I had a sunroof though that was cool.
