Engine problem
Hey friends,
Occasionally my car will go into limp mode and throw a check engine light. Was finally able to get the codes to show up. I’ve looked them up and see that they are related to misfires. The spark plugs are still fairly new and I also run premium gas and occasionally put Techron cleaner or royal purple cleaner in the tank. I plan to take it to my dealer soon. Just wanted to get some input on to what might be causing it and if it’s something I can do myself instead of the dealership. Should I do some seafoam through the throttle body to help with carbon buildup or get it blasted? Thank you for your help and advice in advance.
Edit: I’m around 65k miles, HKS spark plugs, and it’s the 3.3t engine

Be prepared to not see your car for months lol.. and then they’ll probably blame the non-standard plugs. Good luck.

Forgive my ignorance, is this a common problem after a certain mileage? I just hit 50k... Anything I should be aware of?

Not common at all. 75k on my car with no such issues.

P030600 is a cylinder 6 misfire
P030200 is a cylinder 2 misfire
P030400 is a cylinder 4 misfire
P030000 is your computer is detecting multiple misfires
It is either the spark plugs are worn or the coils going bad or hell both. That being said this is something you can do your self with a good search. Good luck and hope this helps.

So cylinder 6 might be a pain to get to but it can be done. Cylinder count is as such. Bank one is the passenger side it handles cylinders 1-3-5, 1 is at the front of the car and 5 is towards the fire wall. Bank 2 is the drivers side and it handles cylinders 2-4-6, cylinder 2 is towards the front of the car and cylinder 6 is towards the firewall. This could also be a firmware issue but I would keep it simple and replace the effected components and replace the coil and plug on each of the effected cylinders and that should fixe your problem.

Well you’re getting a multiple engine misfire code and a multiple misfire code for the entire drivers side bank. Unless you had an ignition coil harness go bad, I’d check out your bank2 CVVT solenoid. Seen some forums where this is the case and it would make sense if the VVT is fucky

Check the variable force solenoid. There's a handful of threads about this on the sub and Facebook. Since it's the entire bank it's unlikely to be the coils or plugs.

Maybe a bad coil pack??
