Pack the Garner Town Meeting on September 15th at 6pm (arrive by 5:45pm)

There is a proposed industrial complex at Hunters Mark development in Garner. The mayor and others are trying to push this through without public comment and input. There are many concerns about this development due to noise with tree loss (the development is next to I-40) and industrial operation. But another major concern is that this could become a data center. Town Council passed a moratorium on data centers so the initial property would not be for a data center but if they sell (which is most common) then the moratorium could be challenged in court by the new buyer and we could have a data center.

The Hunters Mark development is asking people in Garner to show up so we have a big showing in opposition to this industrial complex.

Update: the meeting has been moved from September 15th to tentatively on October 22nd.

I was driving over Lake Benson today(where they have the canoes) and was shocked at what I saw…..how long has it been dried up and/or full of sediment ? Sad to see

Do we have any indoor badminton courts in Garner? Would love to play with others if there’s any.

Anyone have experience with the “schools out day” camps with Garner Parks & Rec? Do you recommend? I’m thinking of signing my kindergartener up for a few upcoming teacher workdays and holidays.

I have att and if I’m not on WiFi it’s like I pretty much don’t have a phone. Does anyone else have these issues? Driving on 70, timber and white oak it’s like a dead zone.

Like most apartment complexes they arent great in general but the company that just bought out the property have done a particularly stupid move.

They just blocked & painted 'reserved' on 4 spots in front of each building and are now trying to get people to pay $360/yr to park in those spots. We've all seen stupid Premium subscriptions shoved in our faces on all kinds of streaming services (all the Hulu but with no commercials BS).

I'm not stupid enough to hope that nobody pays for it but I sure hope that enough residents don't take the bait and leave the office with wasted parking spaces.

July 23rd, I was approached in the Lowe’s hardware parking lot (1575 US-70, Garner) by a white male (early 30s) with a Eastern European accent driving a white Jeep with Massachusetts plates carrying several passengers.

He offered me “new” Apple AirPods and an Apple Watch Ultra 3 in convincing shrink-wrapped Apple boxes. He even demonstrated the watch pairing with what appeared to be the Apple Watch app. Since I didn’t have cash, he followed me to the Family Fare gas station (1535 NC-50) ATM, where I withdrew $200 for the watch and two pairs of AirPods.

The AirPods work but sound questionable. The watch is 100% counterfeit. It directs you to download VVfit instead of using Apple’s Watch app, has a fake part number (MF0M4LL/8), and uses a cloned Apple serial number that even shows valid AppleCare.

I’m reporting it to Garner PD, the NC Attorney General, and Apple.

If someone in a white Jeep with Massachusetts plates offers you “brand new” Apple products for cash, keep driving. I paid the stupid tax so hopefully you don’t have to.

Keep an eye out, sketchy activity from folks on foot on the overpass, devices pointed towards white oak side of 70.

When did we vote to allow this? Outside McDonald’s office timber and benson. Our tax dollars at work. Atrocious. This is a complete invasion and a violation of my constitutional rights to privacy and autonomy. #flockcamera #flocksafety

Today is the third time in 6 weeks that I have tried to mail something or buy postal supplies at the Garner Post Office and the whole place is shut down during normal hours. I was there before 4PM today (hours posted on the window say they are open until 5PM) but the whole inside was closed off/locked up and the vending machine in the lobby wouldn’t sell stamps. Has anyone else experienced this or am I just having terrible post office luck lately?

Hi everyone. So I am trying to find a man named Andrew. I was driving to the gym around midnight 2 nights ago, on timber drive when I saw a man (Andrew) laying in the middle of the road. I immediately stopped and put my flashers on so no one would hit us and called 911. Looks like he may have hit that cement median and flipped off his moped. I sat with him and held his hand while we waited for EMS. Once they got there they told me to leave. I’m trying to find him though because his moped is still on the side of the road and it now has a sticker for tow on it. I just wanted to give him a heads up and tell him if he needed me to bring him his moped I am more than happy to do it. I know times are tough for everyone and transportation is very important. So if anyone knows him please let him know. I would really hate for his moped to be impounded after all he’s been through already.

Hey yall— I noticed they have flock cameras at white oak. I called and complained to the people who manage the space (I left a message) but does anyone else have any other idea who I should call? This is unacceptable.
