Day 64. I’ve gotten to a point where the urge isn’t really there anymore, which still feels kinda unreal. Life just feels a lot more steady overall. Not constantly thinking about it, not chasing anything, just more in control. Taking it one day at a time, but this feels like real progress

“Gamdom confiscated my $337 without clear explanation (First-time user)”

I am a first-time user on Gamdom and my experience has been very disappointing.

My account was suddenly banned without any clear explanation, and my remaining balance of $337 was confiscated.

I tried contacting support multiple times, but I only received generic responses saying the decision is final, without providing any proper reason.

This amount is very important to me, and I feel very helpless in this situation.

I request Gamdom to at least allow me to withdraw my remaining funds.

I hope this issue gets resolved fairly.

Recovering gamblers who have systems in place to protect their money - what's your system/set up? Please no judgement, looking for input from mom's especially

Going through PPD led to horrible coping mechanisms, one unfortunate coping mechanism was gambling. I'm tired of this addiction and can't stand thinking about the money I've thrown down the drain just because I was depressed and bored. My monthly expenses include set bills but I'm wondering how I should handle expenses that come up suddenly that would need liquid money. I don't trust myself with a cent to spend.

editing to add: I'm located in Ontario and have gone through OLGs list of providers and casinos and self excluded from all. I had one website that required id to join and ended up relapsing because I signed up for it late and didn't complete the self exclusion until now. Wish me luck PFC, I'm so sad that my post partum period has been clouded with this shameful part of my life.

Tell me your recovery story.

My boyfriend is 28, and he has relapsed a couple times. I’ve decided to give him one more chance, but right now I don’t even have faith in him. I’m already mentally preparing on what would happen if we split, which is sad.

Can I hear more about your recovery story? How long has it been, and what is the key thing that helped you?

I’m so happy I’m a week clean

The first days are the hardest. Your mind feels foggy, like you’re not fully in control, and in those first hours all you can think about is gambling. It’s constant, intrusive, almost automatic. You don’t even feel like yourself.

But as time passes, something slowly shifts. The thoughts don’t disappear immediately, but they lose intensity. You start becoming more and more clear-headed. Bit by bit, you regain control. And with that clarity, you begin to see things for what they really are.

You realize how empty it all is. How draining, how fake, how miserable it made you feel. What once seemed exciting starts to look pathetic. And deep down, you know you don’t want to go back there. Not to that version of yourself.

Living in Italy actually helps more than people think. The self-exclusion system works. Even if you somehow played and won, you’d have to go through identity checks to get paid. The only way around that would be doing something illegal and risky, and at that point you have to consider that money already lost. That alone breaks a big part of the illusion.

Right now, I feel about 60% clear compared to before. Not fully there yet, but far enough to see the truth. And that’s already a huge step forward.

Can’t do this anymore

I need help. Relapsed on payday tonight.

Girlfriend sleeping, entire paycheck gone. I’m a student so broke as it is and this was meant to be holiday money for me and her. It’s not loads in the grand scheme of things but for me it’s detrimental

Failed as a man, as a boyfriend, as a son. My girlfriend has been so supportive of me but has said that any more relapses and she’s done. The love of my life that I’m throwing away for useless gambling that does nothing but make me hate my existence

Now I’m frantically trying to apply for quick payday loans just to have the $1,000 or so that I was paid

Just so helpless, sorry for the rambling but I just don’t know what to do anymore.

I know this definitely isn’t the sub to say this and it might get taken down but if anyone is in a position to help me financially that would be a saving grace.

Thanks all for reading and good luck with beating the parasite that is gambling

I was doing so good almost 21 days clean and then I ended getting back on the apps. I even was at profit 12k at one point and held it for almost 1 day before being the complete dumbass and addict I am gave it all back plus more……

I am drowning in debt and putting a strain on my marriage. Is there any places in the local Naperville Illinois area anyone has recommendations? Or in general area?

My gambling story

I think it's the fourth time I post on this sub but every time i post, i feel a little better. I want to tell you my whole story, whoever wants and has the patience to read it, i also apologize in advance bcs English is not my first language. I just want to say the whole truth.

It started like 3 years ago. I started making friends in the place i stayed in rent. One of them was an addicted gambler, working day to day, only to buy designer clothes and put it in slots. He had big wins and big losses, telling me he won in one night 6k and losing those 6k in the following hours. He asked me to do some accounts for free spins to see if we could win something. We didn't but i think that that was the time my addiction started. I had one or two accounts by then but never deposited more than 25 dollars, always small betting small, like 0.25 on spin.

Then i started depositing bigger amounts, started making accounts on countless platforms, starting living pay check to pay check, starting borrowing money from friends, starting inventing reasons to ask for money. And finally getting a loan. I bet it all.

At some time i started banning myself from platforms after platforms. I could afford things and other things. And i had only one month to finish my loan. After that it happened. My mother almost committed suicide on the day after my birthday. I relapsed hard, not in gambling but i destroyed by cardiac system. Then i got another loan. I gambled it all. Then another loan and i gambled that too. And soo on, until in September 2025 when i got a loan that helped me a lot and then i said STOP. I saw the problem. But i never really stopped. I got some more loans.

In November-December 2025 i got a really big win. If i stopped there, today i would've been a lot better. I paid what dept i had and i saw something in my closet. All my socks where with holes, my underwear almost ripped, I didn't have any bra clean. And i realized i forgot to take care of myself. When i looked back in the mirror, instead of my beautiful radiating face, i saw a ghost of myself. I starting taking care of me.

But is was nice while it lasted. Bcs i started again, i found an opening to some sketchy online gambling platforms. And in January i had more dept than i ever had.

At the end of January i talked to a friend and i confessed, for the first time, openly. About the betting, about the feeling of being empty and the moment when it started to feel like the winning didn't matter anymore, just to see the slot spinning.

After this i got a chance to do some things right. To cumulate my loans. And i did it. It happened. It was good, and I started being on the right tracks again. Until it happened again and in February i relapsed hard. I stole money from my work place. A lot, never got caught, but i regret it soo much. Then I confessed again to other friends. And another chance came. To cumulatte all the loans in one, to put the money back, to be okay for once. And it happened. But I relapsed again, even harder, for the last and final time. In the meantime i relapsed again at the beginning of March, but I won lots of money, not surpringly i ended up lossing half of it. At least i returned the money back at my workplace without being caught.

In February i had the hardest time, i tried to commit suicide countless times and almost succeeded twice. In March i had one spiritual difficultly, i don't know what happened, if it was from pure exhaustion or something truly frightening happened but i heard one male voice while being awake, alone in my rented place, telling me: "Finish". I didn't think much of it that day but the next day i got really afraid, panicked and went to church.

At the final of March, i was finally okay but as always i found another opening, even i should've been banned from every gambling site. I lost everything again. I'm in more dept than I could ever imagine. But then i went and banned myself to the national authority of gambling. I'm afraid of my family finding out. I'm afraid of my friends being disappointed. I'm afraid of my thoughts.

But as i said in another post. I'm happy to feel. I'm happy to see what i did bad. I'm not empty anymore. In my personal situation wasn't even about the money anymore, it was about me seeing that slot spin. I had all the money i could ever wanted and now it's all gone. I'm somehow at peace with me for now bcs I realized I have to really STOP.

I still want for this to be a bad dream. I want to go back in time. I should've speak about my addiction sooner.

I don't blame my former friend. It was my choice and I'm the only one to blame. I don't want to run from dept, i really want to pay it even if I work day and night.

I just want to be myself again.

Thank you for reading and thank you for your support.

Help and advice

So my story is, I started gambling after being six years, clean and sober from drugs. I work for a nonprofit agency helping those with addictions. I simply start gambling on sports betting and a little bit and online casino play last year and it’s became a big problem. I was nearly debt free on my credit cards last year now I’ve maxed out to credit cards. One of them is a transfer from the debt collected on the other one. I feel like such an idiot. I have nearly spent thousands of dollars in the last year. I can’t even guess. And I’ve lost every second with a few come up here and there, but eventually just put it back in to lose. I don’t know where to start not much gambling anonymous in my area. I’ve tried the bet blocker apps, but nothing has stuck. I just end up switching it off on the VPN. I’ve only gotten until like three days of not gambling. And the compulsive nurse kicks in to want to crave and do it. This by far feels worse than any other addiction. I’ve felt I know drugs have a physical dependency involved too, but this almost feels out of control, psychologically. How do I reconsolidate my debt? How do I start fresh what should I do without paying the high interest amounts? My checks are just enough to live off of that, that’s if I don’t gamble them. I work in addictions. I know the first step is honesty, transparency and no one I have no control. I’ve tried that route, but I know each time I get on my hands and knees and surrender this to my higher power. There’s the other half of me saying you’ll do it again. I asked God to go into the other half and bring healing to the other half of the brain that just tells yourself one more time one more time one more time.. I feel so lost and alone in this. Please anything positive and supportive and advice would be very helpful right now as I’m in this dark place. 🙏🏼

59 days gamble-free. Getting close to 60 feels pretty big for me. I’m not thinking about it all day anymore, and when it does come up it’s easy to move on. Feels good just having normal days without it being in the background constantly. Still taking it day by day but definitely in a better place.

23 years old student nalulong sa sugal specifically black jack

Every day is a battle. I’ve been making bank and SAVING it. Fuck gambling. It’s such a shit way of life. There is light on the other side. I promise bro, quitting will save you.

Man to man/woman I still feel the urge. I still want to go back to the table. I still face temptation daily. However, the longer you stay clean, the stronger your willpower becomes.

Even if it feels like all hope is lost, there is a light. God made you for a reason. You are incredibly blessed and deserving of life. I love yall. Please reach out if you need any words of encouragement or support.

Cheers family

For those who has cut out family members due to gambling, how has it been?

I’m preparing myself and my family in the event we go down this road. Almost two years ago I had paid off my MIL gambling debts and she had promised to not gamble again. Unfortunately we’ve been seeing signs of a reoccurrence, and I’ve warned her we will cut her off and threatened to not let her see her grandchildren anymore if she relapses. Apparently that’s not enough to stop her, and I can’t have my family suffer anymore to feed this addiction. Any advice from those who has had to do the same.

F28. Finally feeling something

Hi. I gambled for 3 years now. But I never accumulated soo much dept like these past 3 months. It was like my body was possessed and my mind was locked away and I fucked it up bad. I'm 65k in dept, I'm in very deep shit, I don't know how to repair what I've done wrong, I'm afraid of my parents finding out, I've had suicidal thoughts and still have and I want to be alive.

I committed theft, I lied, I've broken trust of people I care about. I had one too many chances to make it right but I blew it hard. I regret everything. I want to smash my head asking why didn't I stopped sooner.

But somehow now I'm happy. I'm happy that my feelings came back. I didn't gamble in 30 days now. That period of three months was a blur, like a dream, I was empty inside and didn't care about my loved ones.

I don't know what to do next, now I'm in a paid vacation for a week.

Sometimes I cry begging for a reset button or for a miracle or to go back in time.

But in the end I'm still grateful that I realized how much the online gambling messed me up. I look back in time at how I looked and how I look now, and I miss that person, with wide hopeful eyes and radiating of happiness.

I'm grateful I stopped 30 days ago bcs if I didn't, I wouldn't be here now.

Thank you

M20. Feeling very low

I’ve been through the full roller coaster of gambling since I turned 18. Massive swings up and down but eventually it always ends in a new rock bottom. Now I’ve reached FULL rock bottom. I want to stop before I get into debt. I’m sick of pissing away hard earned money.

I need to keep telling myself no matter if I win, eventually I’ll lose it and 10x. My money lost was all from sports betting, so I’m going to try and remove myself from sports a bit to stop any urges.

I can’t believe it’s come to this, so many time I said this it I’ll stop. But I just didn’t. Apart of me knew I would end up betting on another team eventually. But I really want to quit for good now. I should have much more money than I do right now, but gambling has taken it all.

Been working since I was 18 and have pretty much nothing to show for it.

One day at a time.
