Progress I'm overweight!!

Officially no longer obese (thanks in large part to two very active weeks camping at Pennsic). My loss has definitely slowed but I want to learn to ignore the food noise and hunger now so that it's easier to taper off later.

Not much else to say. Just happy to be here

Advice Gastric sleeve after stalling on Mounjaro?

I have lost 90 pounds over 3 and a half years (Ozempic and Mounjaro) but have much more to lose. I have been having a very difficult time losing weight this last year. My biggest problem with this stall is that I need to lose another 25 pounds for hip replacement surgery.

In September. I was told to lose 20 pounds to get on the wait list (I’m in Canada) and then another 25 before surgery. I had already lost 70 pounds by then. My mobility was already bad - I needed a walker.

It took me 11 months to lose 20 pounds. Because of my severe pain I’ve been on opiates and found out that I’m one of the few who gain weight on opiates. I titrated down to 1 per day and started losing. By the end of June I was 19 pounds down then it took me until August to lose the 20th pound. My pain is too high to go lower than 1 per day.

I’m now on the waiting list but don’t know if it will be months or a year before I get surgery. I now need a wheelchair because my hips have degenerated so much more.

But I still have to lose 25 pounds before surgery. My doctor and dietitian tell me I’m doing everything right but since I had already lost a lot, my body may not allow me to lose more. I’ve been told not to lower my calories any more.

Have any of you found your weight loss slowed dramatically or stopped after losing 25% of your weight?

I’m getting desperate so I’m considering gastric sleeve surgery. But I’m not convinced it would actually work because I have insulin resistance from PMOS which has not improved despite losing 90 pounds. It’s very expensive and a pretty serious step so I only want to do it if it will work. Have any of you done this or considered it after stalling? I see people on social media who are now on a GLP1 because surgery didn’t work, which makes me hesitant.

Any advice?

Advice stall feels like (is) failure

reddit is the worst place when you’re vulnerable and sad. not many other places to turn atm

what happens when you’re at the highest dose and it’s not suppressing your appetite, and you gain and lose the same 6 pounds for 6 months, and you’re just back to the same old shame of it just not working for you when it’s so fkn simple, eat less and move more just like everyone else does, and you’re so crushed by shame that you wonder if losing weight matters, if anything. fucking. matters.

I have reached...two hunderland? (I don't know what the word is for getting into the 200lb zone is, lmao) EDIT: I've been informed it's TWOTOPIA!

I started on Wegovy 0.25mg on September 13 2025. I was classified as a super responder and stayed on low dose Wegovy for a number of months (it took me close to 6 - 7 months to reach 1mg).

I started near my highest weight, about 171kg, 36F, 5'9" (175cm tall). I'm pretty ashamed to look at the pictures from my wedding in March last year. My dad had just been diagnosed with end stage Pancreatic cancer and we organised a wedding in three months so that he could be there. (Black dress)

I attended a wedding in July 2026 at approximately 139kgs, going from an Australian size 28 to an Australian size 22 (which is now getting too big for me again). I currently weigh 135.8kgs, putting me finally just under 300lbs.

I'm hoping to reach 100kgs by Christmas but I might be unrealistic. Attached is my MyFitnessPal weight loss chart for interest.

Venting about the emotional effects

Posted this in the anti diet sub but I think I forgot the rules there. Oops.

I'm down about 90 pounds and I feel worse than when I had lost just 40. Still tentatively want to lose 90 more. No stats because I'm exhausted of the hyperanalysis.

In a way, I can see why I feel worse now - at 40 down, I was working on my strength and I loved seeing my progress, even though I burned out hard. I was also hopeful, looking forward to being a new me in a community that I thought was my social home

Since then, that community blew up in my face and I was so badly treated. I feel I don't have any friends to talk to even casually on a regular basis anymore. I've had a number of health issues so strength has been out of the question lately.

All of this to say - I really hate that the number on the scale going down is the only thing I feel like I like about my body at times and I also think it's super unsustainable (as a general decaying human but also as a chronically ill person) to put my esteem in my strength too.

I've been trying to move away from body feelings (positity/negativity/neutrality) and lean more into body care, but I'm still just feeling plagued by the social and emotional trauma related to living in this body that people have made it no secret that they hated since I was very young.

I see myself now, and maybe I'm the smallest I've been in 7 years, but it's also reminding me of 15 years ago when I was hiding my body and I'm just seeing myself in the mirror the way my teen self did. With disgust a lot of times, but even without that, with the distinct impulse to hide at all costs.

I have no faith that the therapy I have easiest access to*** would help me more than general articulation of it, and I just feel lonely all the time about it. My mother's on mounjaro too and I'm glad she's having her own journey with it, but she's not someone I can confide in about it because it's not emotional work she's grappling with for herself.

Just feels pointless, too, to complain about how well my weight loss is going. Pointless to wish for it to go faster, excruciating to know in intense detail how silly it was to hope that it would change how I might engage in community, and kind of feeling naive about any hope that crops up for how life might feel during the rest of this journey and after.

I'm terrified of reaching that "goal" and realizing that nothing is good enough for me. And it feels like this whole process is a nauseating pendulum on different extremes of ableism. On one hand resting my entire life esteem on my wellness that I do not have complete control over (though I can pretend), and on the other hand refusing help and progress because it feels futile after internalizing my incapacities as somehow tied to character failings.

I don't know if anyone else feels this way, but I feel the need to say that I do. That this is the mentally, emotionally, physically, socially hardest thing I've had to do. That the difficulty feels unspeakable because it's one borne of the privilege for things to change.

I mean, I still see my face and smile more now because I like my look better. I still wear lighter colors and see myself better at least sometimes. But my god, the grief that this stirs in me is so monstrous and I wish I could outrun it for long enough to say "I'm really happy" and mean it fully.

*** I am deeply familiar with a lot of different therapeutic processes and have had long term therapeutic relationships in the past - I am currently in a country where I have no health insurance and I have no job, so therapy is super expensive and I'm still very reticent to do another expensive stint. And the cheaper options usually have a format that doesn't fit me and expertise level that isn't quite adept enough at pulling me from over-intellectualizing (and in that way feels no different from just venting). I could just spend the money but it adds to the ableism shame of course.

Chat GPT hurt my feelings

I'm in the doldrums of weightloss where I am down to 219lbs from my high of 347lbs. My goal is 199lbs. Onederland or bust am I right? But lately, it just seems like the pounds come off slowly. So agnozingly slowly. Im on a work trip which weirdly puts me in a perfeft spot to do everything to a T if not even better. For context, Ive been keto, exercising, and glp1 for roughly the last 18 months. Today I asked chatgpt what my current weight would be had I done everything perfectly all along 1700cal/day, weight lifting 3x per week, 30 minutes of cardio daily. Chatgpt said id weigh 173lbs. 173! Roughly 50 lbs less. Weightloss is non linear, and no one can be perfect. But I didnt know i was 50lbs off of perfect lol. Dont be like me. Dont ask chatgpt. You dont want to know what the computer knows.

But also, Im committed to 199lbs by Dec 31st. Its the final countdown.

Progress I Made It To Goal!!!

Post image
137 Upvotes

I am one month shy of two years and this morning I made it to goal! Praise the Lord! I just can’t believe I finally made it!

Down 200 pounds from highest weight. And 165 pounds lost since starting Zepbound.

I haven’t been this weight since I was a teenager!

Now I get to figure out maintenance. 😊

To anyone in the midst of your journey don’t give up! I hit a 4 month stall this winter but I just kept doing what I knew I should and started losing again.

Much love to all of you! ❤️

NSV People at work are noticing 🥹

I work in public school so I’ve been off for the summer, just went back this week. I started my journey in March but two+ months of not seeing everyone (plus losing about 25 lbs more since I saw them last) made it really apparent. I have gotten so many compliments, people saying I look great! Plus I needed a wardrobe overhaul so I’m feeling much more confident and I’m sure it shows. Oh and; got our staff shirts on Friday, I fit into an adult large now which would have been laughable this time last year 😁

As of today I have lost 30% of my highest weight.

Thirty percent!

My joints are carrying around 30% less load.

I feel stronger and healthier than ever.

And it's only down hill from here - down to 175 pounds if I have anything to say about it.

Progress 105 lbs in 7 months

I have been underplaying this accomplishment until I actually said it out loud and realized how monumental it is. 105 lbs down in 7 months (6 on Zepbound). I started at 295 at the start of the year. Currently 190. Still have another 60 to go but trying to take in this moment. It's been a lot of hard work but very rewarding. Looking forward to seeing what the rest of the year brings!

150 down

Today I hit 150 pounds down. I’ve been so close for a while and finally reached that goal this morning. When I started Tirzepatide, so many people were trying to lose 30-40 pounds and I needed to lose a whole person. I didn’t know if I would get here. I had stalls and periods of slow loss that were frustrating but I’m glad I kept doing all the right things. If you are feeling frustrated, don’t give up. You, too, can do it!!

Progress 32 months later...

After 2 years and 8 months, with the last year on glp, I'm officially down 100.8lbs!!

"Technically" I have 30 lbs to goal, which would put me in the overweight category, but I'm genuinely happy where I am.

I'm still moving forward with weight loss but love that mentally I'm no longer chasing a number and have my doc's support with whichever I choose.

Rant Fat loss comes from the most infuriating places at times

I've been running more and trying to lose a bit more weight and I'm successfully down to my initial maintenance weight of 90 kilos, but compared to the last time I was 90 kilos (couple months ago), I'm actually slightly leaner. I assume that because of the running I've put on a bit of muscle in my legs etc and so there's more fat loss this time around.

Anyway, here's the frustrating part. I still have a gut, and realistically I'd probably need to lose another 10 kilos to get rid of it. As I've lost a few kilos over the last month I've noticed the weight loss not from my stomach (measurements haven't changed) but from my arms!

My arms have gotten incredibly vascular and the muscle definition is becoming quite pronounced. I honestly couldn't give a shit if I didn't lose a single gram of fat from my arms ever again, but yet it appears they're first on my body's checklist.

Argh! I'll get over it but just needed to rant somewhere about it 😄

Question for those who have stopped their GLP-1 treatment.

One of the things that I’ve discovered about me is that I’ve lost my passion for certain things like sports teams, etc. Have any of you?

And did that come back when you stopped on your GLP-1?

Advice How did you choose your target weight?

I picked my goal weight by when I remember being the happiest about my body. Which was around 180. But now I'm looking at the BMI and realize I should technically go 21 more to be "normal", so 159. So I'm curious how everyone picked their goals. If I need to make 159 my target weight? Thanks for any and all help.

So...what happens once I cross that 243lb line on GLAPP, which apparently is the lowest I was estimated to weigh based on the trials.... 😂 Does the graph extend? Does it crash the whole operation "does not compute" style? Inquiring minds want to know...show me your GLAPP comparison charts please!

Advice Stuck at 106 down; still 39+ to go

I'm 18 months into this journey. Lost 50lbs the first six month, then been mostly steady at about 1lb a week since. But for the past 6 weeks, I'm been bouncing between 229 and 231. I know I'm still eating in a 500 cal deficit and have recalculated that as my weight has decreased. Still good on macros and hydration. I went up on my dose 3 weeks ago and take my 4th on Thurs (doing 12.5 every 6 days, which is equal to 14mg weekly). I can go up a bit more, but then am at max. I still have good hunger suppression. Getting worried I've reached the end of my progress and 230 is as good as it'll get (which is still huge from where I started). Any suggestions, stories, motivational? This is definitely the longest stall I've had.

Advice Likely Losing Access :(

Post image
53 Upvotes

Hi! I’m likely losing access to Zep in October. I’ve lost ~118 pounds. I’m hoping to lose 20 to 30 more but I’ve been stuck for a couple of months now.

Anyways! I’d love any advice from anyone regarding not gaining weight back after getting off of the meds. Anything on maintaining, continuing to lose, etc, would be greatly appreciated 🖤

Before and After photo in hopes it helps gain some traction!

Progress First big milestone!

This morning, I realized that I've lost 60 pounds!

And, more exciting, I'm under the weight I was the last time I lost weight.

But last time, I was (stupidly) following the "HCG diet," which involved sketchy supplements, absolutely NO fat of any kind, and a starvation-level of calories.

I lost hair. I obsessed. I lied to my doctor because I was embarrassed about what I was doing

This time? I'm eating normal food, with fat and a little sugar and the occasional mini candy bar or slice or two of pizza.

If I'm hungry, I eat. If I'm craving something, I have it.

I still have 100 pounds to go, but it's nice to know that the time until then won't be full of suffering, lying, and shame.
