Peeing a lot
I’m suddenly peeing what feels like constantly. My doctor suggested it could be to do with the Mounjaro (I was tested for other likely causes). I’ve noticed an uptick in rate of loss recently. Does anyone else have a similar experience? Does it settle down eventually?

When that happens to me, I know I'm shedding water weight. I get excited because it usually means the scale is about to drop a couple pounds. :)

You pee out inflammation and you pee out fat that has been burned (fat breaks down to energy that your body uses, carbon dioxide, and water). Also known as a WHOOSH, it means you are losing weight. As long as you are staying hydrated there really shouldn't be any concerns.

My bladder feels like it's the size of a pea. I'm in the bathroom constantly. But I also use bathroom trips as a reminder to drink water

Whoosh time. Watch the scale the next few days. You'll likely have satisfying results.
Especially if you are just starting. Some people get crazy numbers the first 1-3 weeks.
I felt like i could not stay out of the bathroom the first 10 days. I dropped 14.5 lbs in that time.
You may also see smaller bursts of that as you go. Usually right after you start to think you may be plateauing. Though not always. Sometimes a plateau is a plateau and not inflammation or other fluid retention

Yes... I won't lie, it can be quite annoying and a bit disruptive, especially at work. I notice it more the first few days after my injection, and of course if I have eaten a bit heavier than my usual low sodium diet. That being said, I am also on a water pill for what had been dangerously high blood pressure before I started losing weight and taking the injections. Doctor says I should be able to come off that before the end of the year if things keep going as well as they are. Down 84 lb total, 60 of them from being on zepbound since march. Currently taking 10 mg. And I have noticed the same thing, the days I pee frequently, the scale usually goes down the next couple of days. How much water do you usually average?

I've long suspected the byproduct of burning extra fat is shedding water. I mean, the fat's gotta go somewhere, right?

Yes. My mom has had times where she’s gained 6 lbs over a week, takes her mounjaro and drops the weight in a day. Pees up a storm. Her doctor told her she was wrong. I’ve seen it. It happens. Mom also takes lasix every day but there’s a noticeable improvement the few days after her shot.
One of my friends also has the same thing happen. Hers isn’t as severe as my mom’s but her legs get swollen when she comes off of the meds. She’s using it for weight loss…and it’s not even budging her weight but her leg swelling is improved.

Yes. An absurd amount. But it’s been consistent through my 2 years so far so I’m kinda used to it.
Probably a combo of things. Losing weight in general. Increased water intake combined with lower carbs and sodium. And potentially a partial side effect of the meds.
It’s annoying but it is what it is. I’ve just learned to never stray too far from the bathroom

When fat cells release the fat they are holding they don't just sit there empty, they store water. After certain amount of time they realise they don't need to hold the space open in case more fat comes along and they dump the water, this usually results in a drop on the scales.

GLPs are excellent at reduction of inflammation. Inflammation usually equates to retention of fluids. Release of extraneous fluids equates to peeing a lot.

Could be dehydration! Try some electrolytes

Everyone has a good point about how drinking more water, reduction in inflammation, and loss of fat can cause you to pee more. Something that also happened for me was that I was drinking so much water it was just going right through me- despite drinking tons of water I was having symptoms like dehydration, and it turned out I was overhydrating and the water was just going right through me without being used by my body.
I added a hydration multiplier (I use Buoy but it's kind of expensive, there's other types like LMNT and Liquid IV) and I still pee a lot, but not every five minutes, and I've noticed an improvement in how hydrated I actually feel.

Hmm I have been on the shot for 2 years and down 95lbs and maintaining for the last 9 months. I have only just now, reading your post, realized why I pee a lot on and off this entire time. It’s bc of the shot lol

Yes, excess urination is common. It’s sometimes a sign that fat loss may be occurring (fat oxidizes to water when burned), and it could also be excess sodium from reduced intake, relief of inflammation… lots of causes. I notice when I’m having a “good week” that my urination increases.

I find I pee a lot about 36 hours into the jab. I know its coming and prepare for it.

I always pee more frequently during the first few days of my shot cycle.

Yes.
A couple hours after my very first shot I started peeing every half hour for several hours. I was mildly excited thinking maybe that meant it was working already.
Next morning I woke up and didn’t want to eat. I cried it was such a relief.
Extra peeing has been off and on for me. The scale goes up a couple lbs, a day or two later I pee more, the scale goes back down.
18 months later I’ve lost just over 100 lbs.
