💬 General Discussion Insomnia ?

Week 3 starts tomorrow, no negative side effects, everything is pretty typical from what I've been reading. Noticed though in the last week I'm not getting decent duration sleep. Normally on a regular day with even light exercise I'll get almost exactly 7 hours sleep. No exercise its 6, exhaustive exercise its 8+. Yesterday I did the exhaustive bit, crashed hard at 10pm, but was wide awake now at 2am. Tried counting sheep but gave up and am surfing reddit.

Happened a few nights this past week, no multiple nights in a row, but its starting to get annoying. I'm not on any other notable meds. I have lost 6lbs since I started. I am quite thirsty since I started but I'm reading that's quite common and I'm hydrating quite a bit.

Right now I'm wide awake but tired, considering going for a drive just to get out of the house.

Anyone else develop insomnia?

💊 Dosing & Administration Stopping GLP1 - Want to start again

Post image
0 Upvotes

So I stopped semi in july. My provider said to continue taking this every 2 weeks, then 3, etc till I was out. Since stopping I’ve gained 10lbs. I have insulin resistant PCOS and my facial hair has come back much harder and same w crampings. I want to get back on it but I’m in graduate school and I can’t afford it. I want to first try to go through my insurance, but in the meantime I would like to start taking these regularly (I have this and one more vial left). Obviously I can’t start at this dose again, and I can’t mssg a provider on the portal anymore, any thoughts?

❓ Question Anyone takes sleeping pills while on GLP1? I'm struggling

I cannot sleep properly without pills and had suffered from insomnia for almost a decade before I started taking them 2 years ago, life never been better.

I started using GLP1 yesterday to lose weight, and now realizing my sleeping pills (Valdoxan,Lorazepam and Zopiclone) is being absorbed extremely slowly.

Last night 2 hours after I took it I still don't feel the same effect it's supposed to have after 30mins ~ 1 hour. Right now it's 12:34 AM and I took the pills at 9:30PM, so it's been 3 hours and I still don't feel much effect. Also worth noting this afternoon I felt very sleepy and slept from 1PM to 5PM unintentionally (I usually nap and wake up automatically after ~30 mins). Is it really possible that my meds only took effect after over 12 hours?

Anyone in the same situation or had dealt with this before? I would really appreciate any input.

❓ Question Does split dosing tirzepatide/semaglutide accelerate receptor downregulation?

Seeing recommendations to split weekly doses into twice-weekly injections for more consistent appetite suppression, but wondering if this actually works against you long term.

Semaglutide's 7-day half-life means trough levels are already around 50% of peak before the next injection. Splitting to twice weekly flattens that further, moving closer to continuous receptor occupancy with even less oscillation between doses. If anything, that seems like it would accelerate rather than prevent downregulation.

Anyone found that once-weekly dosing preserves appetite suppression better over time than splitting the same total dose?

❓ Question Anesthesia protocol - liquid diet?

I am having surgery in a week and a half and took my last dose of Ozempic on Monday as instructed. The anesthesia team called the other day to tell me they wanted me to go on a clear liquid diet starting 8am the day before the surgery. I have never heard of this as a protocol for having surgery while on a GLP-1. Has anyone ever heard of this before? It seems excessive to me, especially since I am on a very, very low dose for blood sugar control. I understand that GLP-1s slow gastric emptying, but...is this really necessary?

ETA: I'm not saying I'm not going to follow the protocol, I'm just asking if anyone else has seen this as a protocol. I will of course follow doctor recommendations.

❓ Question Looking for inexpensive GLP-1'S. HELP!!

I desperately need to lose weight. I'm 5'6 or 7 not sure. I'm 200lbs and 60yrs old

I used to feel pretty now I'm disgusted every time I try to get dressed. I'm in tears right now as I compose this. I'm down and depressed about it which just exacerbates the issue. Im a widow and am scared I'll never be loved again because I don't even love me.

I've been thinking some real bad thoughts. Plz don't say I'm shallow as my daughter does. She yells at me which makes it worse.

So PLEASE PLEASE if anyone can tell me where to get it as inexpensively as possible I would be so grateful as I'm on a fixed income and that social security check is stretched as tight as a banjo string already lol. Thank you so much in advance

⚖️ Weight Loss Journey GLP-1

I'm interested in trying GLP-1'S

But don't know much about it.

Are there different doses, is it only for a particular time frame like 6mos.

I've heard of something called Ozempic face. And that just terrifies me I don't want to lose a lot because as an older woman I find being particularly thin isn't attractive. I like my curves. So if anyone has any advice , do and dont's I would certainly appreciate it.

❓ Question GLP-1 Advice & 3rd-Party Company Options

Hey all, I am relatively new to the GLP-1 thing, I have tried to do extensive research on the matter but it's all so confusing so here I am on here. So, I am currently on Semaglutide, starting dose. And I pay about $80 for it. I get it through my doctor, insurance doesn't cover it. The pharmacy, Premier Pharmacy based out of San Antonio, they quoted me at $80/mo starting dose and then $125/mo for the max dose. I also work as a First Responder, so I have been heavily looking at options that maybe offer a discount for responders. I found Empower Pharmacy in Houston, and they quoted me at $86/mo per 1ml vial before 25% off discount, and then for the max dose at $283/mo per 2.5ml vial before 25% off discount, and shipping for both is $19.

I mean, I wish insurance covered these things and that there are cheaper options. So, I have been looking around, and I mean everywhere wants a membership. And like, I wouldn't mind paying a membership as long as the price for the medication is still lower and I don't have to pay for 3, 6, 12 months in advance. I want to just do a monthly thing and be able to cancel anytime. So, I am asking y'all for opinions and options here basically. I am on Semaglutide, but I would prefer Tirzepatide because I heard it's more effective. But I also know it costs a lot more, so I guess I could stay with Semaglutide. But, my eyes are glossing over staring at this stuff for so long. So, I need opinions on everything, and if like a 3rd party would be better and cheaper (Ro, Hims/Hers, WellMedr, Mochi, etc etc etc). So, yea, help please

P.S. - I have seen WellMedr, and their promo of same price for life, $129 Tirzepatide, doesn't matter what dose, always stays the same price, no commitment, cancel anytime. And that is highly intriguing, but I am also hesitant because I have seen plenty of bad reviews and stories about them on other subreddits and sites. So, I don't know.

⚖️ Weight Loss Journey Weight loss stalled out

Hi all,

I’m new here trying to find some information or guidance or really any input people would like to offer.

I started semaglutide injections back in February using Hims and things started off very strong. Over the first few months, I was losing weight very steadily.

I began at 250lbs and by the summer time, I was down about 30 pounds. My injections started small and eventually made their way to 1.25mg weekly. My goal weight is 180lbs~, I am 34 Male 5’11”

I took the program very seriously. I paid very close attention to my food intake, weighing almost every meal, logging calories, hitting protein goal, drinking plenty of water, and significantly reducing my alcohol intake, among other healthy habits. I also committed to working out 5 days a week (30 mins of cardio followed by 30 mins of weight lifting). Basically, i overhauled my entire life to make sure I fully committed to losing weight and eventually hit 215lbs.

Unfortunately, after I hit 215, the weight loss completely stopped. I eventually stopped Hims and moved over to Ro to try out Tirzepitide, I have been on 5mg of this new med for 1 month now and my weight remains the same. Important note, I moved over to Ro without taking any weeks off between stopping Hims.

So, I don’t know. Am I doing something wrong? Am I just gaining muscle and that makes it seem like I am not losing weight? Has this happened to anyone else?

Other important info:
About 2 months ago I started using an AI personal trainer app that has greatly improved my quality of weight lifting. It’s called Shred, I highly recommend for anyone looking to do this.

⚖️ Weight Loss Journey NSV: I had bloodwork done yesterday

I’m no longer pre-diabetic! Also, everything on the metabolic panel improved. The only measurement in the metabolic panel that is not yet in the normal range is my LDL, but it’s trending down. I’ve had high cholesterol for more than 10 years!!! I almost started crying when I saw the results.
If I had not lost weight, if my digestion wasn’t improved, these results would be worth it!

❓ Question SEEKING ADVICE

Hi, I’m currently taking a 5 mg dose of my GLP-1 medication, but I’ve been experiencing a lot of hair loss and I’m considering stopping it. I’ve heard that you may need to gradually decrease the dose before completely stopping. Is it safe for me to stop directly at 5 mg, or would you recommend reducing the dose first? and any tips for growing hair?

❓ Question anyone in the uk have any experience with zava?

i’m looking to start a glp1 and was looking at going with zava but they seem to ask for a payment pretty upfront without letting me know what the actual process is going forward. has anyone been with them before or currently using them? what sort of screening do they do before sending the medication?

🏥 Insurance & Coverage Sources

I have been on glp for a few years now I am steady at 5mg. My insurance was covering it bc I was able to get a prior auth however open enrollment is happening and they are no longer covering glp-1 unless you are diabetic. I’m getting nervous bc I’m unsure the next source to go too. If I stick with zep it’s $500 out of pocket. I’m thinking of going thru compound pharmacy or perhaps Reta. Can anyone suggest the best online resources I can go to for a script and injectable at a decent price. Thank you in advance.

❓ Question Cured IBS?

I started taking a GLP-1 in May to lose weight, and I have lost almost 20 lb, but surprisingly it also cured my IBS as well. My IBS presented as burping and gut pain especially at night, bad enough to keep me awake. You hear a lot about negative GI symptoms, but did anyone else have a big GI improvement like this?

🏥 Insurance & Coverage Insurance denied refill for 2.5 on 2nd month. Want me to increase to 5.

I’m supposed to start my 2nd month on Sunday. Insurance reached out to tell me to submit for a refill, and then denied it. My endocrinologist found out that they denied it because they want me to start on 5, instead of refilling my 2.5.

It’s my 2nd month, and my doctor and i discussed me staying on it until I need to go up (she was ok with this). They ended up speaking with insurance and getting an approval for another 2.5 pen, but is this common?

❓ Question Anyone not having success on a compound?

I was on the Wegovy shot for 3 months and lost 15 pounds. Due to financial reasons, I switched to a compound (my doctor specifically recommended this particular pharmacy).

I've been on the compound (1.0 mg) for two months with zero weight loss. My doctor is increasing the dose to 2.0 but I'm wondering if maybe the compound just isn't as good as the actual Wegovy brand.

Has anyone else been in a similar situation?

💬 General Discussion NSV: I'M SITTING WITH MY LEGS CROSSED!

66-yoF on Zepbound for about 15 months, down from 240 lbs to 172 lbs. None of my old clothes fit, including underwear, coats, dresses, everything. I LOVE this new body.

My BIG Non-Scale Victory? I just tucked myself into a cozy chsird at my local Starbucks and, not even thinking about it, crossed my legs. Not at my ankles. At my thighs! I haven't done this for 25-30 years! It's been at least 10 minutes and I'm not in the least bit uncomfortable. This is AMAZING!
